(FTC disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links so, if you purchase a product using the link I may receive a small commission. I only participate in affiliate programs that feature products that I use and love. Your purchase price is not affected in any way, by using my links.)

It's time for another fun coffee loving, papercrafting blog hop.  It's not limited just to fans of coffee; if cocoa or tea is your heart's desire, bring it on!  Amy Tsuruta has organized another fabulous event with lots of sponsors and prizes.

My project today features the Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice collection.  I couldn't NOT use this awesome collection, seeing as how I'm a super fan of Pumpkin Spice beverages.  I've created a little scene here, with a kitchen window, even fashioning a little ledge.  Look out the window and you see that someone has taken a break from raking leaves, to enjoy their yummy Pumpkin Spice latte!  I made a little bench where my latte would be ready and waiting.  Yum!

If you'd like to snag this fun paper collection for your own, You can grab it here:

You can link up to the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and view all the entries here:

Be sure an check out the rules!

I've also used some fun ribbons from the The Ribbon Resource - May Arts Ribbon Retail Store; Burlap weave ribbon and burlap natural string.

You can grab those here:

Also, if you make a purchase in the month of September, you're entered into a drawing for a huge ribbon rack!

DoubleClick Skittles Challenge - Up In The Sky

Welcome to another edition of the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge!

Challenge #31 - Up In The Sky

Sept. 16 - Sept. 29

I'm using clouds again for my Up in the Sky challenge but this one has birds too.  Actually, I needed a card for my pal Deb and it fit this challenge so, bonus!

Deb has been dealing with Thyroid Cancer and I wanted to send her something fitting.  I found this digital stamp image of the tree and birds, which was free from adayfordaisies.com, part of the "ribbons for a cause" set.

My Skittle colors are stream and sunset orange; perfect colors for this project.  For some reason, I thought the ribbon symbol for thyroid cancer was blue.  Wrong!  When I looked it up, it was blue, teal and pink.  So I had to get creative to fix my blue ribbon.  We're calling Deb "Sparkle girl" since she's currently homebound with radioactive treatments.   Don't worry about her, she's doing great and will come out of this whole ordeal, sparkle-free!  In the meantime, me and a few crafty friends are sending her "sparkle" cards.

Have you tried Skittles yet?  Skittles come in a multitude of fabulous colors and are handmade in batches in Carri's "lab".  There are 25 of these fun, bubble embellishments per bag and you can purchase most 3 pack sets for under $4.00 or in individual bags.  Plus shipping is FREE in the USA and PAYPAL is accepted.

You can purchase Skittles here:

The newest release, "Believe in Magic" is still available.  Perfect for all your Disney themed projects (Mickey, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.)

Stay tuned for a big announcement from Skittles!  I can't wait!

New Skittles Challenge - Up In The Sky

Welcome to another edition of the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge!

Challenge #31 - Up In The Sky

Sept. 16 - Sept. 29

My "Up in the Sky" elements feature the swirling Fall leaves and cloud on this totally divine
Autumn card.  Cooler weather is already here in my neck of the woods, and I'm so happy.  Fall is my favorite time of year!

I chose to create a paper pieced scene with some stitching, a ribbon fence and my Skittles.  The fence is an open weave burlap ribbon that I actually cut in half.  I've placed the Lettuce Skittles across the bottom of my hand-trimmed grassy border and topped one of my pumpkins with the Sunset Orange Skittle.

Skittles come in a multitude of fabulous colors and are handmade in batches in Carri's "lab".  There are 25 of these fun, bubble embellishments per bag and you can purchase most 3 pack sets for under $4.00 or individually.  Plus shipping is FREE in the USA and PAYPAL is accepted.

Week 2 - DoubleClick Skittles Monster/Robot Challenge

Welcome to Week 2 of the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge!

Challenge #30 - Use a Monster or Robot

Sept. 2 - Sept. 15

For this Skittles challenge, I wanted to pair R2D2, the fabulous and charming robot from Star Wars, with a sentiment from a stamp kit that I needed to break in.  I've used my Cricut Explore, once again, and uploaded a jpeg image of R2D2 into the online Design Space for the Explore.  I LOVE this feature!  My printer, prints the image with L-shaped markers, then I load my printed image onto a mat and the Explore scans the markers and perfectly cuts the outline of my image.  It's fabulous!

I had this really terrific starry night sky paper that was the perfect backdrop, along with some buttons that were also "out of this world".  I stamped my sentiment on vellum and added some twine, then scattered my Yellow Sunshine and Sailboat Blue Skittles across the sky and placed some Slate Skittles below my sentiment.

I love how this fun card turned out and my Skittles look fabulous, don't you think?  They are so much fun to play with and add such character and playfulness to your craft projects.  Grab some today!

Watercolored Beauty Featuring Adornit Art Play Paintables and The Ribbon Resource

(FTC disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links so, if you purchase a product using the link I may receive a small commission. I only participate in affiliate programs that feature products that I use and love. Your purchase price is not affected in any way, by using my links.)

Here's a beautiful piece that I've colored up featuring the ADORNit Art Play Paintables.  These are some of my absolute favorite products to color.  This piece is drawn by artist Lindsay Ostrom and is from the Be Awesome Collection.

You can't beat the price of these fun coloring, paintable pages.  At $1.49 each, they're affordable and a great way to relieve stress.  Coloring is super hot right now and you can find coloring books for adults on every corner but if you'd rather give it a try on a budget price?  Grab up a few of these and get started.

I used my Zig Clean Color watercolor brush pens.  You might want to grab some of those as well.  Watercolor pencils are another medium that blends well on the Art Play Paintables.   I've also used some of the ADORNit Blender Paper on this project as well.  Check out all of the ADORNit products at Scrapbook.com and grab your adhesives as well.  I used Tombow adhesives on this project.

For my rolled flowers, I used ribbon from The Ribbon Resource.  If you make a purchase in the month of September, you'll be entered to win a Ribbon Rack at The Ribbon Resource.  Check it out!

Making a Pinned Badge With Cricut and the WRMK Fuse!

(FTC disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links so, if you purchase a product using the link I may receive a small commission. I only participate in affiliate programs that feature products that I use and love. Your purchase price is not affected in any way, by using my links.)

School has just begun, but we're already having our Homecoming and it's only the second game.  My child is in the marching band for the first time and having a ball, wailing on the saxophone.  I thought I would help out and work in the concession stand (also another first) and at the last minute, threw this badge together, so I could wear it for Homecoming and proudly show off that I'm a Band Mom.  I had 30 minutes before I had to leave.  Could I pull it off?  Does a cow moo?

Luckily, I had already created this bear claw in my Cricut Design Space, when I made one for my son's saxophone case last year.  It was a jpeg photo that I converted to an svg file, using a free online converter.  Technical stuff, but if you're into that kind of thing, you can do a little research and pick it up easily.  Luckily, I'm a member of several Cricut Facebook groups, and the information in those groups is invaluable.

I quickly added some text, copied it so I could add some layers and see how I wanted it to look.  When I got ready to cut, I lined up all my red layers to cut on a strip of red vinyl on my mat, then arranged my black layers to cut just below on a strip of black vinyl.  If you use the design space for the Cricut Explore, be sure you attach all your items prior to cutting.

Next, I pulled out a page protector, my We R Memory Keepers Fuse,
a gorgeous piece of musical scrapbook paper and some embellishments.
from: Scrapbook.com

First, I added my layered Cricut cut vinyl to the front of my page protector.  Next,
I trimmed my paper and embellished it, even running an adhesive runner across some sections and sprinkling glitter for sparkle, then placed inside my page protector and began fusing the edges.  It took about 30 seconds or less to fuse all sides.  So easy!  You could also cut some cardstock letters or use stickers with your badge, but I just love the clean look of the vinyl, plus it lasts forever!  Well, a really, really long time, at least.  There are so many different things I can make for school events, parties and more, with my Fuse.  The badge alone can be made for a number of different occasions.

To finish off my badge, I used my hot glue gun to glue this gorgeous bow that I made with glitter polka dot ribbon from The Ribbon Resource.  It's brand new and not available just yet, but it will be soon, so click the link, bookmark it and check back.  If you shop through my affiliate link in the month of September, visit the Ribbon Resource blog as they are giving away a Ribbon Rack and every purchase enters you to win.  Nice!
