Pick Up Truck and Two Paper Divas

I've got a cool card today, featuring stamps from Two Paper Divas.  It's the perfect masculine or encouragement card.  Hey, I'd even dig getting a card like this!  I'm using the "Pick Up Lines" stamps that coordinate with the "Truck" stamp.  The sentiment is quirky and I like that because it turns what would conceivably be a masculine card, into a fun and quirky encouragement card, appropriate for men and women alike!  Lots of girls drive trucks too, right?  Hey, I live in the South and you will see more trucks than cars on the road.

The papers I'm using today are from the Graphic 45 A Proper Gentleman collection and I've embellished with lots of lovely ribbons from The Ribbon Resource.

My truck was stamped with black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I did some watercoloring and stenciling on the backdrop of my truck and on the truck itself.

Hey, mark your calendars for Monday, April 11th.  That's when the monthly April challenge begins and you don't want to miss it.  There's always a great prize offered up and it's so much fun!  Be sure and bookmark twopaperdivas.com and look for the challenge tab listed on the main page toolbar.  The new April stamp release is coming up on April 5th and 6th and you'll want to stop by for that too.  So many fun stamps.... and sentiments! (I do love my sentiments....)

New Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

Welcome to the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge! It's the start of a brand new challenge!

Welcome to challenge #45 at DoubleClick!!

Funny/Punny

Dates: March 30 - April 12, 2016

I was looking forward to this challenge because, let's face it... who doesn't love a good joke, right?  I've got a ton of stamps and didn't have any trouble settling on this one from Unity Stamps.

Cute, huh?  Plus, this chic loves her some coffee so pairing the two was a no-brainer.  I'm using my Pink Sherbet Skittles today.  They're one of my favorites.  It's pale in color and is the perfect little accent on my Spring projects.  Sometimes, I'll add a touch of sparkly glitter glue underneath, to enhance the color even more and give it that wowza factor.

Here's a close-up.

And here's the Pink Sherbet Skittles.  Yummy, aren't they?  You can adhere them with glue dots, glitter glue, clear glue, even hot glue (just be careful!)  If I'm sending a card in the mail, I will usually use my Tombow mono aqua glue or a drop of hot glue, just to make sure it doesn't come off the card due to mail processing.

Have you checked out all the Skittle Color choices? You can view them all HERE!

A 3 pack is typically under $4.00 (75 skittles) and this includes FREE USA SHIPPING, plus, Paypal is accepted.  You're supporting small business and products made in the USA, when you purchase Skittles.  Each batch is handmade, by Carri.

Join the "Funny/Punny" challenge and be entered for a fun prize that includes free Skittles, but be sure and read the rules, as backlinking is not allowed.  Skittles are not required to play so come on... link up and come and play with us!

Thanks for stopping by!

Blog Hop with The Ribbon Resource and Graphic 45

The Ribbon Resource design team and the Graphic 45 design team are hopping this week and there are prizes to be won.  If you love ribbon and paper, you are in the right spot this week!  The Ribbon Resource is giving away three $25.00 gift cards and Graphic 45 is giving away a $60 prize!  Get the details on their blogs.

Today is the last day of the hop, and I've got a Monthly Scrapbook Album that I plan on gifting to a special someone that is getting married soon.   This would be perfect for documenting an entire year for any celebration, a child's birthday and yes, surprisingly, a first year of marriage.  This person is an avid scrapbooker and she's also getting married to her sweetheart from her early school years.  I've got a designated spot on each page to place a photo and do some journaling, plus, I left a little room so she can add mementos of her own for each month.  I'm sharing just a few pages today, along with the album cover.

I sent in my January page as the sneak peek for my album, so I'll start with this.  Graphic 45 was wonderful to send us the Children's Hour collection and in addition, this 8x8 Easel Album.  I cut out the stander portion, and flipped my easel sideways to turn it into a scrapbook album.

I've added lots or ribbons, threading them through the binder rings and tie and knotting strips of the lace and silver glitter dot ribbon.  I've also added some of the silver glitter ribbon across my January title.  It's so pretty in person.

Here's the cover of my album, covered in a polka dot pattern from Children's Hour and embellished with chipboard, lace, mini rosettes and faux burlap ribbon in the center.

On my binder edge, I've threaded red solid wrinkled ribbon and adhered the canvas "handmade with love" printed ribbon with my Xyron adhesive runner.

On my February page, I've got some silver faux burlap peeking out from under my die cut image for the designated photo.  I've added a few papers from the French Country collection as it matches my color scheme as well.

For my April page, I'm using the Turquoise 1/4" Chevron twill ribbon.  It perfectly matches my papers!

Lastly, I'll share the May page.  I've got more chevron twilltwo-tone raffia and gold silky crush ribbon.  This stuff makes the prettiest bows!

Be sure you visit my fellow Ribbonista's that are featured today as well.

Week 2 Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

Welcome to the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge! It's week 2 of the brand new challenge!

Welcome to challenge #44 at DoubleClick!!

Dates: March 16 - March 29, 2016

Challenge: Use a bunny, basket or egg

Are you ready for Easter?  Hopefully this cute little mini card will get you in the mood.  We are so ready for warmer weather!  This little mini came together quickly which is always a good thing.  I'm featuring the Sunshine Yellow Skittles and Lettuce Skittles on my project today.

I made a little nest for my chick too.  It's so easy to do, just wrap string around 3 or 4 fingers several times.  Pull both ends of your string around one side of your nest and tie a small knot.  Trim ends.

A little washi tape is another great way of adding color to your project, with ease.  I try to match my tape with my Skittles for that extra pop.

Day 5 Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop and Heartfelt Creations

Today marks day 5 of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop.  Let me just say, there's an awful lot of coffee, tea and cocoa drinking papercrafters out there.  Count me as a lover of all three but, coffee?  Yup, that's my go-to.  Every day, multiple times a day.

I thought it was the perfect time to, again, ink up this amazing stamp from the Heartfelt Creations Coffee Talk collection, including the papers that I'm using.

Since it's a Spring themed hop, I chose spring colors for my cup which was stamped with distress ink and colored with Zig Clean color brushes.  I added some dots with my gel pen and texture with a scrunched up paper towel and white pigment ink.  I really do love this stamp, which, by the way, is just a partial stamped image.  I thought it would be interesting to only stamp part of the cup which is amazingly huge at around 4".

Additional features on my card include stenciling with The Crafter's Workshop stencils, Powder Puff chalk ink and more distress ink.

I'm thrilled that Heartfelt Creations is a Super Sponsor of this blog hop.  If you haven't discovered all that Heartfelt Creations has to offer, start with the Coffee Talk collection.  It's absolutely amazing.

Cupcakes and Sprinkles with Two Paper Divas

I've got another project for you, featuring one of the new stamp sets from Two Paper Divas.  It's called, "Yes To Sprinkles".   There are four sentiments in this set and it's all about Sprinkles, Sparkle and Shine!  I love this release, because the sentiments are appropriate for many different occasions, as you'll see from the graphic at the bottom of my post.

I thought this sentiment would pair perfectly with the new DCWV Confetti stack.

I wanted the word "Sprinkles" to stand out, so first I swiped a pink Tombow Dual brush pen over that word only, and stamped onto the cupcake paper.  Next, I inked my entire sentiment in black and stamped again.  It really makes the wording stand out, stamping with duplicate colors.  I love that the Two Paper Divas stamps are clear because it makes it so much easier to do this.

I also made a slit with my craft knife, on both sides of the cupcake liner, then ran ribbon through the back of my cardstock, pulling through to make a bow.  Isn't it adorable?  I love it!

Take a look.... fabulous sentiments, right?  I adore the fonts, too.

Don't forget the challenge that ends soon.  You have until the 27th of March to link up to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  There's a $20 gift certificate up for grabs!.

Argyle Easter Eggs with Two Paper Divas

There's a whole lot going on over at Two Paper Divas Stamps,  but let me start by sharing this project that features one of the new March Releases, "It's All About the Egg".  I believe there's around 10 new stamp sets that were recently released.  That's incredible!  Melissa and Gayla are busy bees and designing some fabulous products that I am more than happy to play with and share!

There are 6 different eggs in this stamp set and today I have chosen to highlight this pretty argyle or harlequin style egg.  I started by creating my own background on watercolor paper, using 3 different TH distress ink sprays and spritzing with water on watercolor paper.  When dry, I took a paper towel, scrunched it up and dabbed it into white pigment ink, then dabbed it all over my card.  Next, I used a TCW stencil and sponged on Powder Puff chalk ink.  Kind of makes me think of bunny tails!

To stamp my eggs, I first stamped in a lavender ink, then re-stamped over my same image with white pigment ink.  I added some diamond Stickles glitter glue as well.  The finishing touches were the sentiment, also from TPD, called "Wishing You a Happy Easter", heat embossed onto vellum with white pigment ink and clear embossing powder.  A pretty ombre bow from The Ribbon Resource rounds out this card.

Day 1 Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop

I'm squeaking in by the skin of my teeth to get a Day 1 post in for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  It's all about papercrafters who love coffee, tea and cocoa.   Count me in for all three!

So, I ran home from work and started on this springy card because I'm obviously a procrastinator and wait until the last minute.... or maybe, I'm just swamped?  Yeah, that would be it!  Anyway, this card features coffee stamps from So Suzy Stamps and lovely papers from DCWV called Garden Charm.  I've also got some DoubleClick Skittles bubble embellishments, sequins from The Ton and burlap string from May Arts Ribbon/The Ribbon Resource.

The coffee stain stencil is from The Crafters Workshop and my inks are Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy distress ink.

It's "charming", don't you think?

There's a boatload of sponsors who give lovely prizes to those who participate by linking up and I just so happen to be on the design teams of several so I'm a little partial to them, two of which are featured on this card.  Can you guess?

If you'd like to join in, follow the link below and add your creation to the Inlinkz at the bottom of the post.  Friday, May 25th is the last day of the hop.

Now, if you stuck around long enough, you'll see that I absolutely cannot let a fabulous blog hop like this go by without doing something special, so I'm going to be giving away a little blog candy via random draw to those who comment on this post or any other posts that I link up this week.

Adornit Planner Pages + Free Cut File for Cricut Explore

(FTC disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links so, if you purchase a product using the link I may receive a small commission. I only participate in affiliate programs that feature products that I use and love. Your purchase price is not affected in any way, by using my links)
Have I mentioned lately, how much I love my Adornit Coloring Planner?  Well, I do.   Today, I wanted to share with you my monthly spread for April.  Being on multiple design teams, I have to be organized and have my dates ready well in advance.   I've been thinking for awhile now, about coming up with a design for those little squares on my planner pages.  This month, it's National Craft Month, so what better time to do something special?  So, I made a design space cut file for Cricut Explore users, to celebrate this awesome month dedicated to crafting.  I'll have the file listed for you at the end of this post.

I wanted to make my monthly page pretty and colorful this month, so I chose cardstock from the DCWV Prism Play collection which has all the colors of the rainbow.  Once my Cricut cut all the squares, I decided to make a quick job of getting them into my planner, by placing them into my Xyron Creative Station.  It only took a few minutes to crank them out and they are each fully covered, edge to edge.  Love it!  Now I'm ready to place my squares into my planner.

I'm also using my Adornit Planner Stamps, designed by Stephanie Ackerman which includes the Noted and Dated stamp sets.  These stamp sets are so popular that they quickly go out of stock at Scrapbook.com, however you can also order these directly from the Adornit website or go here.   Remember last month when I put all my numbers onto an acrylic block and stamped multiples onto scrap paper?  I grabbed a pink paper that I had stamped on so all I had to do was add adhesive and snip my numbers.  Super quick and easy.

Those cute flowers?  They're part of the Documented Faith Dated stamp set.  I stamped and colored those with my Tombow dual brush pens, then fussy cut and adhered them.  Another fun little touch.

As an added bonus of cutting all those squares with my Cricut Explore, I now have a stencil that I can use for another time.  I've already got some ideas bouncing around on what I'm going to do with it.

I hope this inspires you to get creative with your planner.  If you've been thinking about getting one, don't wait!  The Adornit Coloring planner not only fulfills that need to be an organized planner but also includes designs on artistic paper that you can color.  I'll be sharing my April colored dashboard soon so be sure and check back.

Here's the cut file that I designed, for you to cut those perfectly rounded 1.5" squares.  This is a free file for Cricut Explore users.  Simply copy and paste this once you've logged into your Design Space.  Enjoy!

For my Skittles project today, I'm featuring a sweet little bunny and using my Pink Sherbet and Frosty Kisses Skittles.  I've also done some embossing and am using up some scrap papers that coordinate with my color scheme.  It's always a plus in my book, when I can incorporate those scraps.  I hate to waste my precious paper!
