Coloring Multiple Cards With TPD Stamps

Do you ever create cards in multiples?  I'm doing this increasingly more and more, particularly as I find it quicker and easier to stamp several cards and quickly color them, whether it be to have extras on hand for various occasions, for custom orders or gift giving.  I knocked out this 5 card set in less than 30 minutes, including stamping the inside and stamping the back with my personal logo.  Truth be told, it was probably closer to 20 minutes because  when I get in the zone, things come together quickly!

This project features a sentiment from the new release "Stuck on You" from Two Paper Divas Stamps, and "Tulip Bucket", from their May release.  I love that the sentiment will go with so many of my TPD images.  Each set of tulips has a different color, using my Tombow dual brush markers.  The flowers were watercolored, however the bucket was directly colored with the additional use of my Tombow blender brush.

I know I've probably mentioned it a bazillion times but you never know who's seeing this for the first time.... to quickly and easily watercolor with Tombows or any water based marker, swipe your marker across an acrylic block or craft mat and spritz with a tiny bit of water.  Use a small paintbrush to transfer your color onto your image or use a water brush.  I use the Tim Holtz detailed NIB water brush to transfer my color.  It's quick and easy and you can vary your color intensity by not spritzing your swiped marker color, but just picking up the direct color with your waterbrush.

To finish off my flowers, I added Stickles glitter glue for some pretty sparkle and a white gel pen for added dimension.

Coloring Summer Note Cards With TPD Stamps

Can I just say how much I love this new stamp set from Two Paper Divas Stamps?  It's called, "Stuck on You" and is one of the fun, new stamp sets in the July release.

Make a set of colored note cards, and have them on hand when you want to quickly drop a note to a friend.  This card was so quick and easy to color.  Switch out the sentiments and make a bunch or give some as gift sets to friends.

You don't even need to use an ink pad for this project.  Swipe your black marker across your stamp instead, then stamp on your cardstock, starting in the center and space out additional images on each side.  I simply eyeball it.  I used a strip of washi tape across the bottom to line up the bottom edge of the pottery though, so my images would all stamp evenly.   A quick tip for getting varied shades on the leaves?  Swipe your marker down once on your leaf, leaving a little white space along one side.  Color in with a lighter shade.  I love to use the fine tip of my Tombow Dual brush markers to just add another thin line of dark shade along just one edge of each leaf.  When I finished coloring, I swiped the blender brush down each leaf to blend more light.

Use a plain colored brown pencil or watercolor pencil and shade a little around the bottom of the pottery for added definition and a little eye pleasing pop.  A white gel pen adds some additional embellishment, and turns this into more of an aloe or snake plant, don't you think.  I'd like to say I have a green thumb but the closest I come to keeping plants alive is on paper!

Craft Lightning - Emergency Camping Snack Kit - Family Crafts in 15 Minutes!

(FTC disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links so, if you purchase a product using the link I may receive a small commission. I only participate in affiliate programs that feature products that I use and love. Your purchase price is not affected in any way, by using my links)
I'm thrilled to be joining a fun group of crafty bloggers for Craft Lightning, an event held several times a year that promotes family friendly craft projects that can be done in 15 minutes or less.   From July 17-21, you can find daily projects that are quick and easy.

The theme for this event is "Scout Crafts" and I've got a quick project for you today that won't leave you hungry on your next camping trip; an Emergency Camping Snack Kit.

Grab these ingredients:

- one 12x12 sheet designer paper (Maggie Holmes Bloom woodgrain)
-lightweight paper or Press n Seal plastic wrap
-snacks such as beef jerky, gummy worms, Raisinets, and sunflower seeds

1.  Cut a 12" x 5" strip of designer paper.

2. Run adhesive around all edges of the backside of your paper, and leave four 3" squares.
Make sure your adhesive goes all the way to the edges, so that you have at least
1/2"-3/4" adhered coverage on all sides and between snack sections.

Shop Your Fav Brands at Scrapbook.com

3.  Place your snacks in the middle of each section.

4.  Cut a 12" x 6" piece of lightweight paper or Press n Seal plastic
wrap and lay on top of your snacks.  Starting with the middle section,
press your top layer down and rub into your adhesive.
Do this for each section and all edges.

5.  Trim any excess paper/plastic from edges.

6. Cut a small slit on the lower edges of each "pouch", on the adhesive line.
This allows for easy tearing later.

7.  Trim a few pieces of decorative paper or card stock and label each snack.
Be creative and name them something fun, if you like.
"Bark" for beef jerky, "worms" for gummy worms, "Bugs" for Raisinets
and "Bird Seed for sunflower seeds.
Add adhesive and stick onto the front of your snack section.

Art/Devotion Journaling with TPD Stamps

I've got another fun project for you that features the newest release from Two Paper Divas Stamps.   This project is a page that I created from my devotion journal, using the Journal It! 1 stamp set as well as those pretty flowers from the Sunshine and Smiles stamp set.

I began by using a measured piece of designer scrapbook paper and applying some white gesso, to make a nice surface for my stamped images.  All of my coloring is with Tombow Dual Brush markers.

I also added a little hand lettered word, "Mercy" to tie into my devotion theme.

The sparkly flowers were hard to capture so here's a blurred photo that I took to show some of the Stickles glitter glue that I added to my flowers.

Finally, here's my scrap paper that I ran through my Xyron Creative Station for edge to edge coverage on my page.  With the leftover sticker backing, I laid a strip of washi tape and cut it in half, to use as a nice edging for the bottom of my page.  I save all my sticker paper backings and you should to.  They come in handy for so many things.

Altered Art Journal and New Release at TPD Stamps

It's day two of the new stamp release from Two Paper Divas and I've got a pretty altered art journal for you today that features 3 of the new stamp sets; those sweet birds from "Stuck on You", Doodle Alphabet and Journal It!1.  I'm super excited that TPD is introducing fun journaling stamps, also perfect for Bible Journaling!  Be sure and visit the TPD site to check out all of the journaling stamps as I'm only featuring one today.

I'll have a full supply list at the end of this post but primarily I'm including a few key "ingredients" in making this art journal; DecoArt Multi-Surface Satin Paint, 28 Lilac Lane Embellishment Kit, DCWV papers, Bo Bunny shimmer spray.

First, I painted my journal in 2 layers of white paint.  When dry, I added my DCWV tissue paper, covering both sides with Mod Podge and sped up the drying process with my heat embossing tool.  Next, I used my Tim Holtz Crackle stencil and painted another layer of white over my stencil.  Cover with Mod Podge and dry.

To make the gold, shimmery birds, I took my Bo Bunny shimmer spray and added a few droplets on my craft mat, spritzed with a little water and stamped my birds into the mix, then stamped onto my journal.  Blot with paper towel as needed.  Leaves a gorgeous shine!

My sentiments were stamped with Colorbox archival ink and I touched up my birds and the word, "Joy" with my mix of white and neon blue paint.  I hot glued all my embellishments, including the ribbon, and embellishments from 28 Lilac Lane which included those buttons and sequins.  I carefully sealed my birds and sentiments with one last swipe of Mod Podge to make them waterproof.

I'm so happy with how this turned out!  I plan on using this as a devotion journal.  I hope this inspires you!  If you've been thinking about creating your own art/devotion journal, it takes a bit of time but it's so worth it.
