Butterfly get well card

It's time for me to stock up on cards with everyday sentiments.  I've done several orders lately and I am out!  I have a couple stamps I'm using for the very first time.  Unity Stamps has THE best sales ever.  Period.  Plus they always send freebies.  With that in mind, I wanted to feature some freebies on this card.

Did you know you can buy some Authenique cardstock for just .99 at Unity?  Yup.  Plus occasionally, I get bits and pieces as my freebie when I order.  This card features several coordinating pieces from Authentique.  Also, the chevron tag, twine and purple star were freebies.  Aren't these awesome?!

See the frame?  I got that half price with a Unity coupon promo code.  I'm in love with this frame called Polka.Dot.Journal.  You could do a lot with it and it's huge! The butterfly is from a kit called, Devoted.  It has several scripture quotes that come with it.  I've been wanting that kit forever and it finally went on sale at a super price that was too good to pass up.  No, I am not a sales woman for Unity, I just love their products.  Can ya tell?  Ha.  I kept the sentiment very simple because I wanted the focus to be on the frame and butterfly.  The sentiment comes from another kit called Bunches of Love...one of my favorite kits.  So there you have it.  Hope I've inspired you to give Unity a try.  Its a great community of support and friendship too as you will find out.

SUPPLIES: May Arts sequin ribbon, Studio G pink ink, Bic Mark-it pens in yellow, orange, blue, green American Crafts glitter marker, Smooch Glitz silver glitter polish, Stickles glitter glue green, Memento London Fog and black ink, Permapaque gray marker,  tulip rub-on, pop dots, American Crafts fuschia ink, white gel pen, Sakura fine black pen

Celebrate flower birthday card

So what do you do when you wake up in the wee hours of the morning, it's dark outside, you can't sleep........you make cards!

I was looking forward to sleeping in today but it just didn't happen.  I went to work and turned out this pretty card using two different stamp sets from Unity Stamps; Tiny Grained Banners" and "Celebrate in Style", which comes with the sentiment and the flowers that I fussy cut and glued to the center of a doily which, by the way, I edged with a pale pink ink.  The butterfly strip is from the DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack.

Let me show you a Unity image of the tiny banners below, so you can see how I used them a little differently on the sentiment.  Also I did some embossing with my Cuttlebug on the base layer of paper.   Love how it turned out.  Oh, and the inside is stamped with Happy birthday.  Now maybe I can go take a nap!

Unity Friends with Flair

Today is Friday and not only does that make me do the happy dance for the weekend, but it's also FWF at Unity Stamps.  I'm inking up this sweet lil guy for the first time.  He came in a special collection grab bag but now Unity has made him available as a single stamp.  It's called, "Lil Happy Bird".  I love natural woodsy cards as you can see.  The flower in the corner was made with Teresa Collins Vintage Finds flower die cuts and a Basic Grey candy button.  The woody background is another Unity Stamp called "Grainy background".  Hope this makes you feel happy like it does me!  Have a great weekend!

Other supplies:  Studio Calico woodgrain enamel dots, adhesive ribbon, Teresa Collins Vintage Finds twine, American Crafts sunflower ink, Tim Holtz brushed corduroy distressed ink, Permapaque copper marker, Inkadinkadoo Brown ink, pop dots, glue dots

Can you believe April is almost here?  That means Mother's day isn't far behind.  This card was made with the Mother's Day Daisies stamp set from the Unity Stamp Co.  I've been in a pink and green mood lately (go figure?) and this card definitely reflects that but I've also added some yellow overtones.  And lace.  Always, lace.  I love it!

Butterfly Hope and leaf card

I'm really loving this kit from Unity Stamps called All Things Are Possible.  Unfortunately, I know personally, too many women who have had cancer, and some who continue to fight cancer.  So this is a super bright, encouraging card.  I love the colors; green and pink just go together don't you think?

I die cut some frames with my Cuttlebug, sponged the smaller frame with ink for more depth, and colored my image.  You'll see some of the supplies I used in the picture below.  Although I did forget to show the Stickles glitter glue in the pic...Love that stuff and I used just a bit on the butterfly wings.  I also used another kit called {Leafing} Grateful for the leaves.  I also made that cute little twine flower with Pink Sorbet twine from The Twinery.  I really love how this turned out.

Loving deer card

This sweet deer is part of a Christmas set from the Unity Stamp Co called Merry Deerest but I really wanted to bring him out and put a different spin on him.  So I used some springy peach and green colors with a gold background and some burlap ribbon.  The sentiment is from a grab bag special collection also from Unity and I stamped it on some linen textured designer paper.  I just love him, he's so adorable.  He really needs a name.  Any suggestions?

Supplies:  ATD textured cardstock, deluxe gold leaf DP from Hobby Lobby, Tim Holtz distressed ink, American Crafts black ink, Permapaque metallic copper pen, green metallic pen, Stickles diamond glitter glue, Recollections enamel dots, The Paper Studio burlap ribbon, American Crafts ribbon, Colorbox green ink, Teresa Collins Vintage Finds paper stack (embossed frame)

Butterfly clouds card

Good morning to you on this sunny but cool spring morning.  I was up late last night, in a crafty mood, and made this cute butterfly card with heat embossed clouds.  I have a special friend in mind that I want to send it to as encouragement.  I used my new "favorite" stamp kit from the Unity Stamp Co called Blossom Soup, from the Jillibean line. The sentiment is from another kit called  All things are possible.   That's washi tape edging on the kraft card also, although I don't remember the brand.  So springy and sweet don't you think?

Additional Supplies:  Zing aqua embossing powder, Petaloo Flora doodles gem flowers, Colorbox lavender ink, scrap paper, Memento London Fog ink, Galaxy blue glitter marker, American Crafts ink

Easter bunny basket card

I spent my Sunday afternoon today making a set of these cute Easter cards.  I bought these plain lime green cards awhile back for $1.00 at Target on clearance.  Gotta love Target clearances!  I decided to emboss with my Cuttlebug with a swirly folder.  I cut out some pink circles and sanded them, then adhered strips of burlap ribbon.  Next I colored/painted this cute flower basket from the Unity Stamp Co called Blossom Soup from the Jillibean line of products.  Added a sweet pink felt bunny to finish.  Sweet!

Supplies:  Unity stamp sentiment from Pretty Easter Finds, Martha Stewart Crafts felt bunny sticker, Sharpie metallic pink watercolor pen, Bic mark-it pens, American Crafts Apricot ink, Stickles glitter glue yellow, white gel pen, purple ink

May Arts Retro color challenge & Unity Be Inspired

I'm so excited to have been chosen for the May Arts Ribbon Retro Color Challenge.  This is my first project with May Arts and it just so happens that the color theme matches with this months Unity be Inspired challenge.  YAY!  So for May Arts, I had to submit a retro idea.  After viewing their Pinterest inspiration board, I immediately had the idea to do a 50's kind of Soda shop theme.  The song Lollipop by The Chordettes popped into my head.  I have this great lollipop stamp from the Unity Stamp Co and I worked from there.

 Here's what I did:

First, I made what looks like a 45 rpm record out of The Paper Studio basic dark cardstock 6x6 stack and sanded it, printed a faux record label and cut it with a 3" circle punch.  Then I placed an enamel dot in the center.  I worked the record until it was just how I wanted it.  The picture below was how I started but not how I finished.  By the way, The Chordettes made Lollipop popular in 1958.  Just a bit of trivia for you.

I colored some stamped lollipop images from Unity Stamps called "Sucks to get old" (birthday set), using Memento London Fog ink to stamp, and markers.  The sparkle is from glitter glue. The Unity stamp actually has a bow in the image but since I wanted to use tied ribbon around the lollipop stick, I masked the bow so it wouldn't show up when stamped.   I tried making lollipop sticks but they ended up too big so I cut the backside off the rolled cardstock and made it flat.  Worked much better on the card.

May Arts sent me  4 different ribbons of my choice from the challenge offerings.  I was required to use a part of each one for the challenge.  I used My Unity ribbon maker (pictured
above) 'cause I need all the help I can get tying cute ribbons!

I used the pink pom pom ribbon to edge the card, the pink sequin centers for the lollipop stick, the peach scalloped grosgrain across the bottom of the card and the turquoise sheer ruffled ribbon to make the tiny bows on the lollipops.

Now for the inside of the card:

I created the frames withe my cuttlebug and QuicKutz Nesting dies.  The stamped background is Inkadinkadoo mini musical stamps inked again with Memento London Fog ink.   The lettering and clock on the frame is from Teresa Collins Vintage Finds kit.

This card is perfect for that special person born in the 50's or to celebrate a dance event/prom or your favorite music lover.

Additional supplies: Ribbons May Arts 338-12, 462-17, 350-58, FP-17, pop dots, adhesive glue, Stickles glitter glue in green, diamond and tropical tangerine, Basic Grey candy buttons, Studio Calico enamel dots, BIC Mark-it and Sharpie fine point markers, Permapaque grey 1.0 fine metallic marker, mini musical note punch from Michaels craft store

Twinkle little star baby card

First of all,  can I say I'm lovin' baseball season 'cause Dad takes the boy to practice and I've been getting all kinds of crafting done.   WOOP!

So I tried out a new stamp called Twinkle Twinkle, from Unity Stamps.  It's always good to have a baby card on hand and I'm slap out,  so I went to work.   I actually used some scraps for the base layers of paper.  The frame is from We R memory keepers and fit right in.  I cut super thin strips  of gold adhesive glitter ribbon for the stringing stars, then colored the stars and added some yellow Stickles glitter glue.   The tag was made with manuscript paper and the musical notes are from another Unity kit called Sing a New Song.   I added some Basic Grey candy buttons,  Stampin Up pearls, a doily and ribbon. ...and called it a day.

Wedding lace card

I made this lovely wedding card for a sweet couple that are getting married soon.  The stamped images are from the Unity Stamp Co,  Bunches of Love kit.   One of my faves!!  I wanted to do kind of a silver/grey/white theme so here's the breakdown; I lined both  sides of the card vertically with silver glitter adhesive tape, then covered with lace so the silver peeks through.

Next I stamped my image with Memento
London fog ink.  I am in love with this ink!  Used Permapaque grey and white markers and added a pop of pink.  Topped it all off with Stickles Diamond Glitter glue here and there.  The finish, was more lace and a sweet bow.

Other supplies:  Studio Calico enamel dots,  craft lace,  American Crafts adhesive glitter ribbon, white gel pen

Butterfly Happiness card

So yesterday I was on the road all day and this morning I woke up early in a crafty mood.  I won this stamp set recently from a Unity Blog contest and decided to put it to use.  I did some sanding and distressing of the cardstock,  inked and blinged.  The butterfly is stamped in  Memento London Fog ink for a shadow effect.   Then I stamped again on designer paper and fussy cut.

The quote is from author Jon Krakauer.   Love how it turned out.

Supplies: The paper studio cardstock dark, Tim Holtz distressing tool, sandpaper, Unity Stamp Co "Real Shared Happiness" stamp set, Basic Grey candy buttons, Stickles diamond glitter glue, K&Company gemstones, Colorbok Bejeweled designer paper, Memento inks, Teresa Collins Vintage Finds twine and 6x6 stack (used for the 3d butterfly)

Scripture Encouragement card

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.  That is so true.  This is a wonderful scripture from Philippians and I fell in love with the Vintage Scripture stamp set from Unity Stamps.  I plan to use this set again and again.   Unfortunately, there are several people in my life struggling with cancer and other issues and we all need encouragement now and then.  I challenge you to be an encourager today.  God bless!

Cake wishes birthday card

I had so much fun making this card.  I used two different stamp sets from Unity Stamps, Cake Wishes and Tiny Grained Banners.  As usual, there's lots of sparkles.  We can't make a birthday card without sparkles can we?

Here's a tip:  stamp your image on patterned paper, then cut it out and play around before you adhere to your card.   In this case, I masked or covered the cake with tape and stamped the candles in yellow ink first on my card.  Then I stamped my cake on patterned paper and only cut out the cake.  Fun and easy!

Supplies: The Twinery Lemondrop twine,  American Crafts purple glitter marker, Bic Mark-it Yellow fine point pen, Stickles yellow and Diamond glitter glue, TPC Studio lilac ink, Basic Grey candy buttons, Memento Luxe Black ink

Happy birthday circles card

Hope you are doing well.  I haven't been able to craft lately due to an unwelcome visitor known as the stomach flu.  Let's hope it skips the rest of my family and that all of you stay well.

This is a pretty simple card I put together using a birthday sentiment from the Bunches of Love kit from Unity Stamps.  I added another embossed circle a layered banner tag and some other little extras.  Have a great day and thanks for popping in.
Supplies: American Crafts adhesive glitter ribbon,  lace, jute cord, Basic Grey candy buttons, Smooch Glitz Goldrush accent ink, American Crafts Apricot ink

Get well cards

This Unity Stamp set has quickly became one of my favorites.  Its called Bunches of love and you can do so much with it.  I also have a lovely 6x6 Basic Grey pad called Paper Cottage.   I really wanted to incorporate the color of the papers into the flowers and I really love how it turned out.  Zoom in to see the sparkles I put on the flowers and leaves.  Pretty!

Just because Owl card

I got this cute Owl stamp set called "Just Because" from the Unity Stamp Co.  One of the best things about Unity is they send freebies with every order.  I decided to incorporate a couple freebies into this card, the songbird background (behind the wood grain image) and the green string around the tag.  I also used the Unity background stamp called "Grainy" with some Tim Holtz distressing ink.  I love it!  Gives this page a woodsy feel.  I also used a distressing tool on the paper and edged it in ink also.  On the tag,  I used some Basic Grey Paper Cottage stack.  I plan to use more of this stack in an upcoming card set I'm working on so check back.

Winner, winner!

Thanks to everyone who commented and re-pinned my most pinned card on Pinterest.   We even hit another milestone with over 5000 page views on my blog so that is wonderful.  Thanks so much!  I hope you will follow my blog on Google for more crafty inspiration and future contests.

Now onto the winner who was drawn via a random number generator.   And that is ......Cal8007.
