New Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles - Ocean + a Winner

Welcome back to another DoubleClick Connections Challenge

Challenge #26 is: Ocean

July 8 - July 21

**Via Random.org, Congratulations to the winner of my Skittles Craft space Challenge:
Kim from kimsscrapbookaddiction - Kim, please email your contact info to me at momtojeb@gmail (dot) com.  You have 7 days to respond or forfeit prize.

I'm so excited about this challenge!  It's my first "official" project created for DoubleClick Skittles, as a new design team member.   My initial idea was to create an underwater scene with fish swimming around and lots and lots of bubbles!  Another first? I decided to try my hand at no-line watercoloring.  I chose to make a display piece which would be so fun in a child's bedroom, or even an ocean or sea themed bathroom.

A quick technique tip: create extra" bubbles" by dropping droplets of water from a paintbrush onto the water colored surface, allow to sit for a few minutes, then blot with a paper towel.   This works best with distress inks.

I used Sailboat Blue Skittles as well as the Summer release which is, for all intense purposes, sold out already!  You can visit the store and/or email Carri.  She may have 1 or 2 sets left.  At $3.75 for the entire release, they don't last long, but you can still purchase some of the individual colors; Strawberry, Banana and Blue Raspberry here:

(paypal accepted)

An unexpected feature of my Skittles?  My Blue Raspberry looks lavender on the pink section of my watercolored paper.  Cool!

Another tip technique?  I used some mesh ribbon and "burned" it a bit with my heat embossing tool so it looks like fish net.

Some other features on my card are a heat embossed sentiment and some stenciling on my base card background.   But, I've got to say, the Skittles look so fabulous bubbling up out of my fishy's mouth!
