GIU Girl for Unity Stamps -Day 3

It's day 3 of being the GIU Girl with the Unity Stamp Company this week, and today's project is all about glitz.  I'm featuring the "Artful Ornament" stamp, designed by artist Susan K Weckesser.  For this project, I did a combination of techniques, stamping with glue and using bleach on the blank spaces in the ornament.  I was going for a "glow" or light shining through the ornament.  I absolutely LOVE how this turned out!  It's very ooh-la-la!

I was originally inspired by Rachel Kleinman's technique that she shared some time ago; a foil and stamping technique which involved using glue. However, I substituted the foil for gold glitter and heat embossed it to dry.  The bleach technique was inspired by the late, great Christy Riopel from the Fall 2016 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.

I made this one minute video to show the creative techniques for the ornament.  Check it out!

**If you decide to try this, be sure to have a warm bowl of soapy water ready.  You don't want to ruin your rubber stamp with glue!

Here's a before and after, using bleach to fill in the gaps.  This technique works best on black cardstock.  Make sure you don't overheat your image and "burn" it.

Purchase "An Artful Ornament", here.

Leave a comment each day, Monday through Friday and your name will be thrown in the pot to win one of 2 prizes, a grab bag of 25 random Unity Stamps.

Tomorrow's project is going to be "Spooky!  Spooky fun, that is.  Be sure and stop back by!

    1. Wendy, I used Scrappy glue from The Rubber Cafe. I picked it up at the Scrapbook Expo but Tombow mono glue may work also.
