Unity Stamps Growing in Unity Blog Hop + Prizes

It's time for the Growing in Unity Blog Hop.  I was one of the GIU Girls in September, for the Unity Stamp Company and was invited back to participate in this blog hop with my fellow GIU Girls this quarter.

I've been all about the Christmas cards lately, so I thought I would pair two different Unity kits for this CAS card.  I'm featuring the "Like A Snowflake" sentiment kit and the "Joy Girl" stamp set.  Both sets are on sale today!

I've never left one of these Unity girls uncolored.  Let me tell you, it took a lot for me not to throw in the towel and color it up, but I wanted to emphasize the black and white image with color all around.

1. I started by embossing with black ink and clear embossing powder for my image, using my Misti.  I used 3 different Ranger Ink Oxide ink pads with my blender tool, on Strathmore Marker paper.

2.  I also fussy cut an additional image to lay down and protect my girl from the water sprinkling and "snow" showers.

3.  I spritzed water in my hand, splattered all over my inked paper, waited a few seconds, then blotted with a paper towel.  I dipped a wet toothbrush in Decoart satin paint and splattered "snow" all over, also using a fine tipped paint brush to add larger blots of snow.

4.  Next, I enhanced my inked sentiment with my Arteza black glitter pen for a little sparkle.

I used the same oxide ink colors with my water brush to color just the ornament.

I also distressed the layered white cardstock edges and mounted that, with my scalloped die cut panel, onto black cardstock that was trimmed and top scored for this 4x6 inch card.

Here's the order of the hop.  Be sure you comment on all the blogs along the way to be entered to win one of two prizes.  Two winners will be picked on Wednesday.  Good luck!
