Boy Layout Challenge for Paper House Productions

Our fearless leader, Christine Meyer, issued a challenge to the Paper House Productions design team; everyone use the same products and see what we come up with.   I have no idea what everyone has done, so I'll find out the same time the rest of you do!  I'm excited to see how everyone uses the pack of stickers and designer papers in different ways.

It has been awhile since I've done a layout and my teenager has actually complained that I haven't done any pages on him in awhile.  How funny is that?  We're featuring boy layouts this week and also products from The Great Outdoors collections.  I printed this favorite photo from a few years back that I've never scrapped.  It was a beautiful day at Germania Springs and Jonah wanted to wade in the water.  Such a happy day and a happy boy.  Don't you wish every day could be picture perfect?

All the designers are using papers from The Great Outdoors collection, along with the washi tape shown below and also the Boy Mom sticker pack.  There are several different kits in The Great Outdoors collection, including Fishing, Hunting and Camping.  Scroll to the end of this post for photos and links.

I decided to do my layout on an 8.5 x 11 inch trimmed piece of mixed media paper.  I thought it would be nice for adding paint splatters, using my retired collection of October Afternoon Sprinklers.  The colors coordinated perfectly with my paper and sticker choices.

Note only did I make die cut circles with my papers, popping them up on foam circles, (shout out to Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!) but I also distressed my woodgrain paper with the edge of my fine tipped scissors and added an angled strip of the birch tree washi tape.  Those fussy cut trees were cut from one of the patterned papers.  I think Christine did an amazing job choosing these items that coordinate so well together!

Now, I have another layout to add to my 8.5x11 inch album.  If you're like me and feel like 12x12 inch papers just have way too much space and can be intimidating, then give this size a try.  I love it and to me, it feels a little more compact and a little more personal.  For my style, anyway.  Do you like it?  I'd love to hear your comments.  Thanks so much for stopping in!  Feel free to shop my convenient affiliate shopping links below or click the links throughout this post.  Have a crafty day!
