Bunny Shaped Card

It's that time of year, Spring card making! It's also National Craft Month, so I whipped up this fun shaped card featuring nested dies from Scrapbook.com. Scroll down for a few tips. You'll also find products linked at the end of this post and a coupon code!

For this project, I pulled out my Nested Peep dies from Scrapbookcom.

I used two different sizes, one that measures 5.8 inches tall and also 4.1 inches tall for this project.

To begin, I top folded and scored a 5.5" card from white cardstock, placing the top edge of my 5.8" die off the top scored edge, then ran this through my Platinum 6 die cut machine.

I also cut a panel cover for my white card using the 5.8" die  and some pretty patterned paper from my stash. This paper I'm using is from the retired Mad For Plaid Happy collection from Photo Play Paper. I've linked a very similar collection of papers at the end of this post, but you can definitely use what you have.

I decided I wanted my bunny card to have feet, so, using my leftover die cut scraps, I placed my dies in such a way to just use a portion of the ears on white cardstock and the plaid as well. I chose white for the larger die, and plaid for the smaller die.

I used scissors to cut the off  the tips of the die cut ears, layering them as pictured below, and adhering them flat to the base of my card front. I think they look so cute, and the fact that I was able to use my dies to get this effect was a definitely a bonus!

For my bunny eyes/nose, I used small 3L black adhesive circles and applied some of my scrap pieces of Spellbinders black foil on top. If you have any small white adhesive foam circles, these will work with the black foil as well.

If you have neither of the above, you can use a hole punch and simply punch some dots from black cardstock and adhere. I do prefer the look of dimension and symmetry that the adhesive foam offers though.

Lastly, I brought out my hot glue gun to adhere that pretty pink ribbon and white button to embellish. I hope you find time to get crafty this month. There are so many things you can do with this die set and there are lots of samples in the scrapbookcom gallery, here. You may need to create an account or be logged in to view the gallery.
