Watercolored Botanical Card for Scrapbookcom

I'm so happy to share this card for Scrapbook.com, featuring the new Sizzix - 49 and Market collection that was just released. There are so many beautiful products in this collection and I'll have more to share coming up later this week. This card features the Painted Pencil Botanical stamps/dies, the Engraved Wings stamps/dies and the Hello You Sentiment stamps. These products were designed by the very talented Katie Pertiet! Watercoloring is one of my favorite techniques and I used a variety of inks from Catherine Pooler to color these pretty flowers. It's so easy! Just press your ink pad on a craft mat, grab a waterbrush and start painting. You can layer up colors or go in deeper with colors. I highly recommend a heat craft gun to layer colors, or let dry naturally between colors. 

When I finished watercoloring my flowers, I used my Spellbinders Splatter White for added embellishment. It's a thick paste that you mix with water, then splatter with a paintbrush.

All the images that I'm watercoloring were stamped on the new Scrapbook.com white mixed media cardstock. I absolutely love it! It's thick and sturdy, and I haven't had any buckling of my cardstock at all when watercoloring. It also die cuts really well too.

For my stamped dragonfly, I colored with more Catherine Pooler inks, then heat embossed my wings with my clear embossing ink pad and Wow Halo embossing powder. It gives lots of sparkle and shine but embosses clear. It's absolutely gorgeous!

For added embellishment, I used lots of my Scrapbookcom Pops of Color that coordinated with my watercolored images. I also watercolored the word "Celebrate" from the Hello You sentiment stamp set and heat embossed my other sentiment on my black mixed media cardstock using Wow Bright White embossing powder. All of my images are popped up on a dry embossed white card panel using the Tim Holtz Sizzix embossing folder, Wood Plank. I've had it awhile and I believe it may be retired. Any embossing folder will do, just to give some added texture for visuals.
