CAS Card Series No 3

Ice cream lovers, this is for you. This is my 3rd CAS card (clean and simple) in my series and I'm featuring the Hot & Cold Drinks stamp set, once again, from Inkblot Shop. This is a new release and I plan on getting some use out of it! There are so many fun projects that you can create with this set and Mint Chocolate Chip is the featured flavor of the day! Yum! 

So, pull up a chair, settle in with a scoop, and scroll down for a few creative details! I promise, it will be quick, plus I've got some bonus tips. I'll also have the full supply list linked at the end of this post.

To begin, I grabbed my mini Misti stamp positioner and an A2 sized card panel and stamped my ice cream image from the Hot & Cold Drinks stamp set. Since I plan on coloring with Copic markers, I stamped using hybrid black ink which works well with alcohol markers and doesn't bleed.

Once I stamped my image, I left everything in place on my Misti and laid down some mint masking tape across the bottom of my cup to do some masking. I stamped again, then fussy cut the bottom portion, laying the trimmed tape back down on my stamped image.

Next, I used a stamp from the Get Grounded stamp set, masking the outer edges prior to stamping, and placed it over the bottom of the glass stem and stamped.

By masking this area, it makes it look like the cup is sitting right in the center of my counter top. It adds a little more interest, as well.

Lastly, I  stamped my sentiment from the Sweet Times Sentiments stamp set, also part of the new release from Inkblot Shop.

BONUS TIP! For the chocolate bits in the ice cream, don't try and make perfect dots. For a more realistic look, dab your brown (E37) Copic marker and make little jagged triangles for the larger bits, then small dots for the rest.

Another BONUS TIP!! The straw is designed to be blank. Draw a couple angled lines with a red Copic marker, then outline them with an extra fine tip black pen/marker.
