The new Timeless Trees collection from Simon Hurley for Spellbinders is out, and I'm so happy to share two cards that I made from this release. I'm so thankful to Spellbinders for sending me several products from this release and I'll share some details on these cards below, including the "must have" item you need in your stash!

I'm creating with 3 different products from Simon's Timeless Trees collection:
+
Spellbinders Holiday Floral Background Glimmer Plate (Sentiment/Amazon)
My first card features the Whimsical Bottle Brush Tree Dies. I used green paper from one of of my paper pads and white cardstock to create my trees, die cutting with my Platinum 6.
For the base of my brush trees, I dabbed on some Ranger distress ink in Vintage Photo with a blender brush. When finished, I placed only the base in the bottom of my Bark 3D embossing folder, so the long portion of my "stand was sticking out. This gave some really cool texture, almost like cork to my tree base. I also did a little ink blending in between some of my snowy hills with the same ink.
Those snowy hillside slopes were hand trimmed using my scissors and white cardstock. The bottom portion was also embossed with the 3D Bark folder. I absolutely LOVE the look! So much texture and it really looks like snow!
To create my background, I used my Spellbinders Splatter White on black mixed media heavyweight cardstock. For the larger dotted "snow", I dab the handle end of my paintbrush in the mix. I also splattered the branches of my bottle brush trees.
I also did some bulk foiling over the weekend using one of my favorite sentiment sets, the Simon Hurley Joyful Christmas Glimmer Sentiments.
That's not the best photo above, as I had to get a screenshot from the video I shared in my IG stories. I did a lot of foiling on colored and patterned paper, in addition to foiling on white cardstock. I used one of those foiled sentiments for my card below.
My next card below prominently features the Bark 3D embossing folder. First, I embossed my Spellbinders Dune colored cardstock. Next, I trimmed white cardstock and did some ink blending with Ranger Kitsch Flamingo distress ink, as I wanted a pink sky behind my houses. Then, I embossed my inked cardstock with the Bark folder.
I also decided to emboss some of my other die cut images from the collection; the small trees and the "mantel" strip below my houses, using the Bark folder.
You can see some of the texture a little better in this close-up photo below. I also used more Spellbinders Splatter White for my trees.
My houses were die cut with white cardstock. The die set also comes with an outline die, which I used to cut an outline with my Dune cardstock, offsetting it just a bit behind my white die cut houses.
I used a dark green paper from one of my paper pads to layer my embossed background, and also for my die cut trees and sentiment.
I used Spellbinders Gold Matte hot foil with my Glimmer system for both of my cards.
I believe Spellbinders may have retired the Holiday Florals Glimmer set (stock # GLP-290) that includes my sentiment for the card above. I was able to find it on Amazon and linked it further up in my post. I do love that sentiment so much and have used it a ton! I thought it fit so perfectly with my Mantel Village dies. If you love tiny or small sentiments, Spellbinders has soooo many. Check out the Glitter Wishes Glimmer set, as another choice for small holiday phrases. It's on sale too!
So what's my must-have product selection? The Bark 3D embossing folder!! It's so versatile and you can use it in so many ways! Add it to your collection and get creative with it!
Thanks for stopping by. Let me know if you have questions in the comment section. I have affiliate links below if you'd like to browse or shop for any of the products that I used today. Have a great week!
Terri
