Once in awhile, I like to sit down and just color something, for pure pleasure. Today was one of those days. Life can get hectic and our family is always busy. Squeezing in some "me" time is a necessity. It recharges my batteries and calms me. You know exactly what I mean, don't you?

It's been awhile since I've participated in any challenges so I'll be linking this one up to several. The stamp set is Blooming Peonies from Unity Stamps (along with Easter Everything sentiment), and my coloring tools are from Altenew, the 36 pan watercolor set.
I mixed some of my watercolors to get the Periwinkle color that you see above. I love these watercolors so much. They are so vibrant! This set is in stock right now at Scrapbook.com and shipping is super reasonable. You will not regret investing in this set of watercolors

I'm also an avid fan of Strathmore brand watercolor paper. I use it exclusively, as I've tried other brands but none work as well for me, as Strathmore.
Thanks for stopping in and having a look. I hope you're following me on social media. You'll find extra details on this project over on my Instagram account with close up photos.
Here's a new card that I made, featuring watercolors and stamps by Altenew. I'm feeling all things colorful these days, plus we're talking coffee. You can never go wrong with coffee!

As an avid water colorist, I broke out my Altenew Watercolor 36 pan set, available at Scrapbook.com.
The colors are so rich and vibrant and have quickly became my new favorite set. A watercolor brush is also included, which is an added bonus.
The Coffee Love stamp set from Altenew really comes to life, with the variety of watercolor choices. As you can see, I chose bright colors to offset the dark brown of the coffee.
I also added my own planter pot embellishment, fashioning a paper pattern bowl with gold rim foiling. The papers I'm using are from the Echo Park Paper Summer Fun collection.
Thanks for popping in. I hope you're following me on social media. You can occasionally catch me watercoloring over on Instagram and also on my YouTube channel.

But first, let me share a few things about my project today.
I'm breaking in my new Altenew watercolors for the first time and I am in love! The colors are so vibrant and you can even stretch the 36 colors included in the set by mixing with other colors.
It is such a great investment and worth every penny, in my opinion. My stamped tulips from
Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps are colored with the waterbrush included in the set, on watercolor paper. I added some paint splatters, bubble gems and a Sizzix sentiment. There's a bit of stenciling as well using a Tim Holtz stencil. Both my tulips and sentiment were stamped with Catherine Pooler Ink and my Misti stamp positioner.
I also popped up my watercolor panel with foam circles from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and have Lawn Fawn papers in the backdrop from the watercolor paper collection.
Head on over to my Instagram account to start the hop, beginning at 11 am CT. You must have an Instagram account to participate. Be sure and follow the instructions to qualify to win.
You must hop at all the stops and also at week 1, here.
Event ends 3/31/19. Winner announced no later than 4/5/2019.
Good luck!

Hello friends, today I'm sharing a spring card that I made using the brand new Tonic Studios Spring Collection 2019, Dream In Colour. These products are available now at Scrapbook.com and you're going to want to add many of these to your shopping cart! I've also got a video, showing you how to make some amazing hidden card panels for split cards. As an added bonus, there's a 1 minute technique video tacked on at the end, featuring that awesome watercolor stencil technique!

First, let's talk about that beautiful pastel panel. I used some of my Nuvo watercolor pencils to swipe color onto one of the Craft Perfect A2 White Watercolor Cards included in the kit. Just spritz the colors with water, then dip your stencil into the inky mixture and lay onto a dry watercolor card. Use a heat tool to dry and you end up with these beautiful mixed media panels!
I've got a video further down, that will take you through the process.
My next step was to create a shaker for my panel. I used exclusive nesting heart dies from
Scrapbook.com with my manual die cutting machine to cut out that heart shape. Acetate, adhesive and foam strips help keep my shaker items in place.
Those gorgeous gemstones in my shaker are just breathtaking! The trio that I used are all from the Dream in Colour collection and include the Nuvo Silver Rain Pure Sheen Sequins, Amethyst Squares Gemstones and Crystal Gemstones. The faceted prisms will have you swooning, they are so brilliant in sparkle and color. I'll have affiliate product links for you, at the end of this post.
Included in this collection are the most amazing specialty cards. I used the Tonic Studios Hello Die with the with Tonic Studios Craft Perfect Lilac Waves Embossed Card. Isn't that specialty card, gorgeous? (below)
I also die cut the Hello word with the Craft Perfect Berry Fizz Glitter Card. You'll see how I used this pairing of cards in the video below.
I also had fun creating some hidden panels for a split card. You'll see how this was done in my video. You'll love all the fun ways to create a hidden panel! Below is photo of a split word die panel with the Craft Perfect Gloss Mirror Card Holo Wave used as the hidden panel. It's such a cool card!
You can see where I used those amazing Dream Drops just below the word.
