OLO Marker Cards for Scrapbookcom

I have an exciting announcement! OLO Marker is now available at Scrapbook.com! You don't know how happy this makes me. Although I've been an affiliate for some time now for both companies, I've been hoping this would come to pass and am so happy that it has. This exclusive "essential" marker set, available only here at Scrapbook.com, includes 8 half brush tip markers, 4 connector rings and a mini blank swatch card. 

The connector rings allow you to easily connect two marker colors to have in your hand at once. Did you know there is more ink in one OLO half marker than any full marker on the market?

The colors featured in the set I'm using today are:

R2.4 Raspberry, V2.3 Beautyberry, B2.2 Sky, BG2.5 Viridian, YG2.3 Muscat Grape, Y1.1 Ginger, O1.3 Marigold, R0.4 Red Grapefruit 

I even did some bokeh coloring on the card panel above with my markers, coloring random circles and half circles on the OLO blender paper, then splattering some Dylusions Black Marble Spray by unscrewing the top and tapping the feeder tube.

For both cards, I used the Scrapbook.com Nested Zig Zag Frames Dies. They're so much fun and add lots of pizazz to my cards! I also used the SBC Party Animals stamp and die set for both cards. They can also be purchased separately.

For my card above, I created a little outdoor scene, using patterned and solid papers from the SBC Birthday paper pad. I also embellished my OLO coloring with highlights using a white gel pen.

I also outlined my die cut sentiments above, using the same OLO marker that I used to color my party animal image.

One of the things I absolutely love about this color combination of markers, is they're bold, joyful and happy colors - perfect for celebration cards!

I ended up adhering my remaining party animal die cuts on the card above, offsetting them and trimming off the edge with my scissors.

I also stamped and colored my sentiment with the same OLO Markers. Speaking of which, have you tried the Gripmate? It was also sent to me by Scrapbook.com and it is amazing! It fits right inside an original Misti but can also be trimmed down to fit a mini Misti stamp positioner. It grips the cardstock and magnets are not required. I love it!! Plus, it also cleans easily with a damp cloth, or baby wipes.

I used it to stamp my images and shared a short reel in my stories on Instagram recently.

You can also use it independently on a glass mat. It works great with stencils too!

Take a look at the zig zag die frame I created above. I actually die cut two colors - a pink solid paper from the birthday paper pad and an orange paper from my SBC Joyful paper pad.

I trimmed my orange zig zag frame at the diagonal and glued it to my pink zig zag frame for a little play on color. I love how it looks, you should give it a try!

Celebrating 10 Years of Catherine Pooler Designs

The Flutters and Thanks stamp and die set that I'm creating with today is part of the Studio Classics release and inspired by one of the original Stamp of Approval boxes!

I did some stamping with CPD ink in Midnight, and heat sealed with clear embossing powder and a craft heat tool, to do some watercoloring. I used Mandararin Spice and On The Lake to watercolor, pressing my ink on a craft mat, spritzing with a tiny amount of water and grabbing the mix with a wet water brush.

For my background, I swiped some CPD Apricot ink onto an A2 white card panel, then used the Lattice Love Cover Plate die to create an overlay for my inked panel. You will need a die cut system to use the cover plate.

I also stamped my CPD inks in Midnight and On The Lake a few times using my stamp positioner. While the ink was still wet, I sprinkled on some CPD/Wow Embossing Halo Glitter. This is heat activated, so just tap off the excess and use a heat craft tool to heat set for about a minute. It leaves a sparkle and shimmery shine that I absolutely love!

Lastly I created a trimmed border near the bottom of my card with ink swiped cardstock, and adhered some sequins from the London sequin mix.

Fireworks Card For Erin Lee Creative

Hey friends, I'm excited to share another project for Erin Lee Creative! The new patriotic limited release "America The Beautiful" is out and there are so many fun and festive stamp sets, dies and stencils! It's a small release so it can possibly sell out quick! Today's card features the new Fireworks stencil and the One Nation stamp set. My Ranger Ink Lunar Pastes haven't seen much love in awhile, so I thought I would pair some of those colors with my stenciling. Scroll down for creative details. I've got lots of tips, so buckle up. First, let's talk about the dimensions of my card. The stencil is 6x6 inches, so it's ideal for square cards. My full dimensions measure in at 5 1/2 x 5 3/4 inches.

The paper that I stenciled on is from an Ombre paper pad from Scrapbookcom. It's 6x8 and was the perfect size for me to stencil on. I love that these papers look like I did some amazing ink blending but no, they're just fabulous papers!

Before stenciling, I always spray the back of my stencil with Pixie Spray. This helps avoid seepage under the stencil, so you have a crisper stenciled image. I keep a large piece of bubble wrap in my craft space to avoid getting spray on my craft desk. Make sure you allow it to dry for a good minute or two. When you place your stencil onto paper, gently press all over to make sure you have a good seal.

Now, I couldn't find my craft scraper to stencil my paste. Not to worry, I save expired gift cards. They work in a pinch as a stenciling tool. I applied both paste colors side by side on the edge of the gift card, and swiped all across my stencil.

Before peeling off my stencil, I randomly sprinkled some Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing powder, while the paste was still a little wet, tapping off the excess. Then I gently peeled my stencil off and let everything dry naturally, maybe 10 minutes. 

I also splattered some white paint splatters for stars in the sky. Simply place a small amount of paint on an acrylic block (the size of a dime), mix with a drop of water, then flick the mixture off the edge of the acrylic block with a small bristled wet paintbrush. You might want to practice this technique on some dark scrap paper to get the hang of it. And, grab a large piece of bubble wrap to cover your desk first!

Confession Time!! Ok, so sometimes, I cut my stamped images. The sentiment I'm using includes a flag image and I didn't want to go to the trouble of trying to mask my image and stamp. Plus, the flag was very close to the wording, so it would have been tricky and honestly, a little time consuming. So, I broke out my teflon detail scissors and proceeded to trim off the flag image. It will easily re-align with my sentiment, the next time I decide to stamp with the entire image, so no worries!

I  do love the sentiment though. We all know that quote from Lee Greenwood's song God Bless The USA, right? I decided to heat emboss with white embossing powder, stamping it first in clear emboss ink on a trimmed section of the same Ombre paper and heat setting the emboss powder with my craft heat tool.

However, before the powder was completely set, I sprinkled on some more of the Gold Tinsel powder on the word LOVE, then finished heat setting.

I ended up splitting my sentiment into two sections and hand trimming around the wording with my scissors.

 

This card will easily fit in a 6x6 inch envelope. However, I have the We R Makers 123 punch board, so I make my own envelopes out of 12x12 inch scrapbook paper in my stash.
