It has been waaaay too long since we had a fun challenge at MPC.  With Christmas just around the corner, it's time to have a little fun and give away a prize!

We were told to make two projects by Sheryl, who is heading up this fun event.   We needed to use a die cut and metal.

I absolutely adore the new Simply G45 program at Graphic 45.  Easy, simple projects that you can make quickly.  That is the route that I took for my card which features Graphic 45's, "Twas the Night Before Christmas" paper collection, which I've also used on my second project as well.

My crafty pal Paula, also one of the MPC DT's, gifted me with some Maya Road chipboard, so I covered the scalloped chipboard with my paper, tracing the outline and fussy cutting.  Notice those snowflakes on the paper?  Pay close attention because those will pop up in my second project too.

Here's a close-up of a candy cane that I fussy cut from my G45 paper.  I fashioned and frayed a burlap centerpiece from my May Arts Ribbon Faux Burlap ribbon and added the embellished candy cane which is covered in a gold Skittle from DoubleClick Skittles.

Now, for my second project, I used my Cricut Explore and the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge, to cut this fun little treat box using the G45 Twas The Night Before Christmas paper.  This came together really quickly which is essential as we are all super busy this time of year, right?  I trimmed some G45 border from my paper and adhered it and added a gorgeous lime green polka dot bow that matched my paper.  I'll have shopping links at the bottom of this post, if you're interested in some of these items.  Bonus!

Now, I actually used my die cut and my metal on the same project.  Even better, my die cut is metal!  To make these fun Poinsettias, I used the Spellbinders Celebrations Just Because Flower dies with Spellbinders Media Mixage metal foil sheets, then punched out the G45 snowflakes with the accompanying Spellbinders circle die.  Such a pretty and fun decorative little accent to my Graphic 45 treat box!

Now, of course, there's a prize involved,  Get all the details on the MPC blog here:

  5. Oh, brother. I spent wayyyyy too long this morning trying to make sense of my iPad and commenting on all the blogs. Not one dang comment saved. So back to square one. I adore your card with the beautiful red dp and the burlap embellishment...love how it looks and where it's placed. The candy cane and skittles embellishment were the perfect touch. Your box is fabulous and I am envious as it is something I will never do. Gotta love those poinsettias.
