Sea Breeze Card feat. Sweet N Sassy Stamps

Hello friends, I'm sharing a summer themed card featuring lots of ink blending and stamps from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. The weather is warming up and I have so many friends sharing their beach pictures from Spring Break. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them! So, I'm living vicariously through my cards for now.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

I used lots of Catherine Pooler inks and did some ink blending on my Neenah cardstock. I left a lot of white space to make it look like clouds. So easy to do!

I did some masking for my ocean and boat and yes, I even cut some of the birds from my stamp to spread them out a bit. No worries there, I cut my stamps all the time! Anyone else? Raise your hand!

I trimmed some long lines of masking tape to blend the sun rays with white pigment ink. I have a dedicated sponge dauber for my white pigment ink blending.

I love the quote and there are so many fabulous quotes in this stamp set. Thanks so much for stopping by and I've provided convenient affiliate links below, if you'd like to do some shopping. There is no additional cost involved to do so. Thank you so much for your support!

Floral Cross Easter Card

Happy Easter weekend to all my friends and family! I wanted to share this card that I made with the Angie Blom Digital Designs Floral Cross set. We had a lovely time today with family at the lake and I gifted this card to my sister-in-law. Scroll down for creative details and some tips that I have for working with digital images in Microsoft Word.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

I love making religious cards, particularly around significant holidays. I haven't bought any new Easter stamp sets with a religious theme in awhile, so I thought I would go digital with this card. I picked it up on a 40% off sale going on through this weekend at Angie Blom Digital Designs.

Isn't it just beautiful?

Once I downloaded the images, I used the png files and created my scene in Microsoft Word.

My best tip for working with digital images in Word is once you insert your image as a picture, right click on the image and select wrap text, then scroll over and select "in front of text". Then you'll be able to move your image around where you want it. When you add additional images, you'll need to do this for each image. You may have to select images to go behind the text as well. I always put my main image in front.

I added another Angie Blom digital image from the Mixed Media Elements called Smear, at the base of my cross. Actually, I added it twice, to give a shadow effect. I also changed the color to print in gray under the Format Picture settings.

Once I added these images, including the sentiment, I had to make sure and bring the cross forward again so my cross would be on top of the images. Once you get the hang of rearranging digital images in Word, it's super easy. I love having the ability of re-arranging and re-sizing my images.

I colored my flowers with Copic markers and emphasized my center stems with a white gel pen. My images were printed on Neenah heavyweight cardstock which is ideal for coloring with Copics. You can always print on mixed media paper for watercoloring, just be careful not to oversaturate as your printed image can bleed, depending on what kind of ink your printer uses.

Here are the Copic markers that I used:

Cross: E37, E33, E31, E00
Flowers: V15, V12, BV000, BG13, BG11
Leaves:YG11, YG 17, YG25

I layered my panel on an A2 sized white card and had some lovely kraft envelopes in my stash that really went well with my card.

I shop every day low prices for Copic markers at Scrapbookpal.com. They have sales every so often on Copic markers but their every day prices are super reasonable. They also offer free shipping over $50 t and their shipping rates are very inexpensive. Did I mention they ship super FAST?! I'm happy to be an affiliate for them so if you use my affliliate link above to do a little shopping, I appreciate it. There's no additional cost for you to do so.

Thanks so much for popping in. I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend! He is risen!

Cracked Egg Spring Easter Card

Hello, cardmaking friends. Today, I'm sharing another card featuring the Catherine Pooler Hops & Peeps stamp set, the Egg Hunt die set and more. I absolutely love that the Egg Hunt die set comes with several dies but in particular, two different sizes of the egg shape itself. I used the smaller egg shaped die for this project. Scroll down for creative details. You'll find a supply list at the end of this post.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

To begin, I cut about 6 egg shapes so I could have extra on hand, including the backing for my cracked egg. I wanted to create speckled eggs for this project, because I think they're so pretty. It's super easy to do. Just blend your chosen ink colors with your blender brush onto the white die cut egg. A smooth heavyweight cardstock is recommended, such as Neenah 110 lb or Hammermill 100 lb.

Using a damp paintbrush with a small tip, dip into your brown paint and tap your brush with a heavier brush or tool to splatter your eggs. I used the Ranger distress paint in Ground Espresso. Allow to dry or dry with a craft heat tool.

I had an idea to make a cracked egg and have my baby chick peeking out and I'm so happy that it worked out like I planned. I placed some mint tape over white cardstock and cut another egg with my die. I then hand drew a wide crack for my egg and cut out the section with scissors.

I then peeled off the mint tape and used the white cutout section to trace the outline on my egg, then fussy cut the tracing. I then backed my fussy cut egg with a solid white cardstock egg.

*Note: I first transferred the trimmed mint tape and tried to trace around it but it didn't hold up well to tracing. I also tried to see how my egg would look with the white trimmed "crack" placed onto the front of my egg, and forgo the white backing, but that didn't look good in my opinion.

Next up, I stamped and colored my baby chick and also die cut a bunch of the other images from the Hops & Peeps stamp set. I tried to stick with as many of the pastel colored Catherine Pooler Inks, when stamping the solid floral images

I also used plaid paper from the Happy Mama paper pack as my base layer for my A2 sized card. I had a honeycomb embossing folder in my stash that I used for my white panel, although it's hard to see in these photos.

I added glitter glue on some of my embellishments and popped much of the images up on foam circles. I also had some brown shredded paper that I rescued from a package I received. Isn't it great when we can re-purpose packaging materials? I made a little nest and tacked it with hot glue in a few places and trimmed it a bit.

Thanks so much for popping in. Let me know if you have any questions. You'll find convenient affiliate links provided below, at no additional cost to you. Thanks so much for your support. Happy crafting!
