Happy News To Share For 2017! (Make that double happy news!)

Hello lovelies!  I'm just popping in to share the news that has been announced today by So Suzy Stamps.  I'm joining the design team for 2017!

Early this year, I served a term on the Stamp of the Month Club Design Team and when Suzy recently asked me to join her main team in 2017, I was thrilled.  Currently, she's having a web re-design so her store is down for maintenance until January 1 (although it may be ready sooner!) but you can stop by the blog, look around and get a little crafty inspiration in the meantime.

Suzy has assembled quite the international team and I am in some fabulous company.  These are some uber talented ladies!  Click the name to visit their blogs:

Henriƫtte van Mierlo (The Netherlands)
Nupur Priya  (India)
Olesya Kharkova (Russia)

Suzy is known for her snarky stamps worldwide, her gorgeous flourish stamps and everything in between.  Let's not forget Phineas, her world famous peacock stamp!  He's made appearances all over the Northeast in the pottery section of Whole Foods stores.  Read about him, here.

Lastly, I'm so very excited to have some stamps that I've designed, come to market in 2017, with So Suzy Stamps!  I'm so thankful to Suzy for offering me this amazing opportunity and you can look for those to be available later next year.

Check back on Suzy's blog January 1, 2017, where the entire design team will be ringing in the new year and kicking off a new theme/technique challenge for the month of January.  Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing in my happy news today!

Have a most wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

Terri

Making a Quick Gift Card Set + A Few Favorite Things

I had to whip a super quick gift card set for a Secret Santa gift for a teacher.  Teachers always need thank you cards, right?  Thanks to my brand spanking new Misti stamping tool, it made the process a whole lot quicker and streamlined.  My only regret?  Not getting my hands on this amazing tool sooner!

Available at Scrapbook.com

This project was made possible by a few of my favorite products:

1. The stamps are from So Suzy Stamps.  She's currently having a remodel of her website so if you are dying to get your hands on the these stamps, bookmark and check back in a week, two weeks tops.  The target for revamping the website was 1/1/16 but there's a likelihood that it will be up and running sooner.

2. The Misti.  It's wonderful.  If you're a stamper/crafter and have been holding out, scrape your pennies together and take the plunge.  Look at the deep black perfection of my stamped images.  That was not possible without the Misti.  This tool will take my crafting to a whole new level.  Discover all you need to know about the Misti from the inventor over at My Sweet Petunia.

3.  The customized padded zip pouch from Simply Charming Everyday.  She's an exclusive provider of Misti covers and you're going to want to protect your Misti.  Plus, it's great for traveling and tossing in a few extra items, plus keeping track of those magnets!  I adore all things coffee and this vintage pouch is perfect.  You can get one too, or a choice of many different offerings, including custom covers for your Scan N Cut, Bunkie Bags and more.  You'll also find her products on the So Suzy Stamps website.

4.  Cardstock from DCWVInc.  I love the Garden Charm collection from DCWV.  These may still be available at JoAnn Craft Stores so be sure to check.  DCWV is one of my favorite paper companies.  I love the thick cardstock with glossy accents in this collection.  Plus, it's the perfect garden setting for my fairy!

For The Birthday Boy...... MINE! + Sale/Coupon Code Expires today!

Today, my one and only, my teenage son, turns 15.  Lord help us!  Actually, he's a good kid, although he knows how to work the teenage attitude here lately... he's getting really good at testing those boundaries.  Can I get an Amen?

Since he's so good at sarcasm, I thought I'd add a twinge of it myself, to this Adornit birthday card.  I'm using the "Sunshine" Art Play Paintables designed by Laura Kelly, along with Adornit Blender paper.  There's a four day sale at Scrapbook.com that ends today, Dec. 18th at midnight.  Get an additional 10% off your entire order using coupon code SAVEBIG .  I've got affiliate shopping links scattered about for your shopping convenience.  Yes, I'm somewhat of an enabler, I know.

These are the super fun images, below, that can be colored or painted with just about any medium; colored pencils, watercolors, distress inks, etc.  I should mention that the little wordy chat bubble above was put together by myself using word stickers and a birthday stamp.
from: Scrapbook.com

Adornit.com is also having a big sale.  Use code adoreme20 at checkout to get 20% off your order.  You'll find the watercolor pencils, waterbrush that I've used today, and the blender paper there as well.  The selection of blender paper is limited at scrapbook.com but you can check it out here, if you like.  If you decide to shop at adornit.com, when you use your coupon code at checkout, you can also put my name (Terri Burson) in the notes section as a referral.  It just helps me score a little mojo love from Adornit, that's all.  Hurry though, the code expires soon.

I hope you enjoy doing a little crafty shopping.  It's always better when a coupon code is available, right?  The rest of my day will be filled with birthday events for the boy and our church's Christmas musical/drama in which I will be singing.  It's going to be a great day!

Merry Christmas!

Day 4 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with Stamplorations

Welcome to day 4 of the Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop, hosted by the ever so lovely, Amy Tsuruta.  Today's project is brought to you, courtesy of Stamplorations stamps and dies, plus a few of my other favorite crafty toys.  You'll find the full supply list below.

For my project today, I chose a monochromatic theme.  I don't have too much monochromatic in my crafty repertoire.  In fact, it was a struggle to keep from adding a little pop of red for those two little latte love birds.  I'm sure it would have looked just as adorable, but I wanted to challenge myself to stick with the theme. Aren't those coffee cup too fun?  It's designed by my crafty pal, Becca Cruger for Stamplorations and is a brand new stamp set that you simply MUST have called,

One thing that I discovered about doing a monochromatic theme is, it takes a lot of guess work out of the equation.  This came together rather quickly which was an added bonus.  Some paint splattered snow, a little stenciling, a circle punched moon and snowy die cut hills, and that's a wrap!

Join the Winter blog hop now and link up your newly created coffee, tea or cocoa winter themed project.  There are so many wonderful sponsors giving prizes and it's a total blast!

Two Paper Divas and Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

The time has come to bid farewell to the lovely ladies at Two Paper Divas Stamps.  They are retiring!  They're closing their store by years end and everything is on a final markdown at 50% off at checkout.  However, they will continue to keep their blog open to continue to share their inspiring projects.

This is my final project today, for Two Paper Divas.  I'm using one of their retired sets for the Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop and I'm also using the Sunday Sip & Share Sketch from Kerry's feature at coffeelovingcardmakers.com.  Because Melissa and Gayla from TPD have been such wonderful sponsors in the past for the quarterly blog hops at CLC, I wanted to showcase some of their beverage stamps that are still available.  If you've been wanting to add to your coffee, cocoa or tea stamps, you won't find a better deal with the 50% off sale.  They would make excellent Christmas gifts for your crafty friends and family too!

So scroll down and check out Kerry's sketch, if you'd like to play for fun and link up to the hop below, then take a look at some stamps that I've picked out for you today, with clickable links if you'd like to purchase before they're gone for good.

You Warm My Heart                  Mug & More

I'll be linking my card up to the Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop.  Link your newly created coffee, tea or cocoa card as well.  Ends 12/16/16.

Melissa & Gayla, thanks so much for allowing me the pleasure of serving on your design team.  It has been such a joy and I wish you both a long, healthy and happy retirement with your families!

Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop with Adornit and WRMK Fused Reusable Gift Card Holder

It's Day 2 of the Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop and I'm sharing an Adornit project that also features my WRMK Fuse tool.  (P.S....Everything you see is on sale!)

I've colored up the new Adornit Coffee Time Art Play Paintables with my Adornit watercolor pencils and am also using new Adornit scrapbook Christmas papers.  See the full supply list at the end of this post with affiliate shopping links, if you'd like to play with these fun "toys"!

I've put together a 30 second Flip video so you can see how this was made, including an inner bumper and a self guiding tab which allows the gift card to peek out at an angle and easily guide it in place.  Because, who doesn't love seeing a gift card peeking out?

I really wanted to preserve this and make it reusable because I'm a firm believer in paying it forward.  I plan on gifting this to someone special and I will be sure to encourage my friend to re-use this and do the same in the future.  I thought it might be cool to put a hashtag on the back and have a giant blank sticker so every time it's used, the recipient can note the date and location of where they're from, then upload a pic with the hashtag.  Remember "Where's Waldo?".  Something like that.

Click here or press play button below.

Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop Day 1

You all know that this chic loves her coffee, so I'll be linking up to the Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop that starts today.  It's all about papercrafters who loves cardmaking and also enjoy their hot beverages; coffee, cocoa and/or tea.  Hey, we all have our vices and mine is coffee.  And, paper,  I do have a thing for paper.

For my project today, I've done some hand lettering and designed a fun glossy paper ornament to showcase my lettering.  I've also added  my own hand drawn tiny red cup.  Who doesn't love a red cup full of coffee?!  I've included a few affiliate links below, if you'd like to get your hands on some of the same products I'm using today.

I'm keeping this project fairly simple.  Hand lettering with my Tombow calligraphy pen, (from Blitsy.com) glossy accents and sprinkled Doodlebug Designs Lily White Sugar Coating.  Just a bit around the edges, while the glossy accents are still wet.

Just find a large glass and draw a circle with a black marker and cut out the shape.  Before covering it in Glossy Accents, I ran it through my Xyron Creative Station.  It's easier to work with while adhered to sticker paper.  Once the glossy accents are dry, just lift off and stick it onto your card.

I also drew and cut the ornament top and adhered the bottom edge to the back of my sticker.  I trimmed out the inside so I could run string through my ornament top and added a bow.  For the base, I inked a woodgrain embossing folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug. Easy peasy!

It's a Wonderful Life with TPD Stamps!

I'm back with another project for Two Paper Divas and this one features "Ho Ho Ho".  Good news is?  They're having a huge 50% off storewide sale?  Bad news?  This stamp is sold out!  But you can still get the framed version, "Ho Ho Ho 2".  It's such a fun image and you can go vintage with it or color it up; make fun Christmas tags, cards or accent your scrapbook pages.  He's a jolly old fellow!  He's paired up with the Retro Christmas paper collection from Authentique.  So festive!

Purchase Ho Ho Ho 2, here.

Growing in Unity Blog Hop + Coffee Loving News!

It's time for the Growing in Unity Blog Hop!  For those of us who've been lucky enough to be one of the Growing in Unity Girls in the last few months, we're coming together for one last fling before the year's end.  Stick around for a minute because I've got some other fun news to share as well.  If you arrived from Amy's blog, you're in the right place.

For my project today, I'm using the September 2015 Kit of the Month, "Our Hearts To Yours".
Unity has several different membership programs to fit your needs and the KOM membership is very popular.  Of course, there are thousands of stamps available for purchase that don't require membership.  Thank goodness, right?

SEPTEMBER-2015-OUR-HEARTS-TO-YOURS

I'm especially fond of this kit because I love winter stamps and I adore coffee stamps.  This adorable mug could pass for a specialty coffee or cocoa!  I'm using a mix of coloring tools on my project today to include Tombow dual brush and Zig clean color brushes on my Strathmore watercolor paper.  My papers are from Graphic 45's Cafe Parisian collection.  It is no accident that my colored images match my papers.  I love getting all matchy-matchy.  Don't miss my jingle bells, dangling from burlap string, either.  So cute!

If you'd like more information on the amazing products that Unity Stamps has to offer, visit their website, here.

Now, it's time to hop on over to Helen's blog.

If you get lost, head back to the Unity Blog.

Now for the other fun news.......

The Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop is just around the corner and Unity Stamps is one of the super sponsors which means another chance at an amazing Unity prize!  Be sure and bookmark the link below so you can participate by linking up your newly created coffee, tea or cocoa themed project (must be winter themed).  It's a fun, week long event!

Ho Ho (Uh-Oh) with Adornit

I'm poking a little fun with today's project for Adornit.  Looks like Santa got a little too close to the Christmas tree and broke an ornament.  Oopsy!

Several fun Adornit products have come together to make this project, starting with their super duper gorgeous watercolor pencils, which are SOLD OUT just about everywhere!  They went like hot cakes a week or two ago.....everywhere!  Hopefully you can snag them again soon when they come back in stock.  I purchased mine from Amazon for the best price.

Next up, is brand new Art Play paintables designed by Laura Kelly.  I'm using her Rainbow collection and turning her balloons into.....you guessed it, ornaments.  I even cut one in a zig zag to make it look broken.  Just use a marker to line the jagged edges.  So fun!

from: Scrapbook.com

Next, is the luscious Emerald Check Scrapbook paper, also designed by Laura Kelly for Adornit.  It's double sided, sturdy and cuts so clean.  I love it!

The Santa and Ho Ho Ho letters are from new Adornit  Holiday Scrapbook paper and die cut stickers that are not yet available for purchase but will be soon, so keep your eye out.

The "uh-oh" was handwritten by me, using my Tombow fine tip from my dual brush maker.

Be sure and check out all the fun Adornit products available at Scrapbook.com.  That is where you will find the newest Art Play Paintables and fun new designs have just been listed, including coffee images, sweet animals, blessings (can we say pineapple?) and more.

Christmas Gifts, Lettering and Two Paper Divas Stamps

It's Christmas card making season!  I'm sure some of you are probably way ahead of the game.  Me?  I'm not an early bird, so this is just about the time that I get cranked up.   I had a lot of fun making this Christmas card for Two Paper Divas, using their "Holiday Greetings" stamps.  TPD is having a 40% off storewide sale so don't dilly dally......get to the end of this post and go shop!

But first, the details..... my papers are from the Echo Park Papers collection, The Story of Christmas and I'm using them to also paper piece my gifts.  However, for the bows, I've colored them using various coloring instruments: Tombow Dual brush and Zig Clean Color brushes.  I've even added a little sparkle to my bows with Stickles glitter glue, although this photo doesn't truly capture the sparkle.

For the sentiment, I did a little lettering by my own hand, using the calligraphy pen from my Tombow Lettering set.  I've spent the last 3 months or longer, working on lettering and it requires lots and lots of practice.  I think it's finally starting to pay off.

One of the things I love about this set is the clean and simple lines.  You can do soooo much!  There's a lot of wiggle room so you can get super creative, whether it be adding some of your own little doodles to the images, paper piecing, coloring or even layer with other stamps, such as the TPD Background stamps.  If you don't have this set in your collection, get it before it's gone.  I've used it for so many things and I love it.  Particularly when you need to add a little interest to a card's background, or to give a little character to your tags.

Purchase Holiday Greetings, here.
