Hello crafters.  I'm so excited to share this project with you today.  Graphic 45 has come out with a new collection called "Café Parisian".  It is absolutely dreamy.  It's all things French, pastries, coffee, tea..... a European Culinary delight!

When I saw the first sneak peeks on the G45 website, I knew that I would have to share with my coffee and tea loving friends.  The Graphic 45 family is near and dear to my heart.  I first came to know them through the Craft and Hobby Association trade shows and had the pleasure of sitting in on one of their classes for my article on the CHA blog.  If you ever have the opportunity to see Jeff Filimoehala teach a class, you are in for a treat.

I love that so many of the G45 papers blend with other collections and allows you to make the most of what you have.  I adore plaids and stripes and this collection is full of them.

On my card today, I'm using several Café Parisian products; ephemera, paper, die cut flowers and my favorite at the end of this post.... the #3 stamp set.  There are 3 stamp sets in this collection and they are all amazing, but #3 is my favorite.  Isn't that tea cup just darling?  Imagine all the different ways you can color and embellish it.  I've watercolored my tea cup today, using Susan K Weckesser Color Pop mini inks.

Graphic 45 was kind enough to send me their collection so I could share with all my friends at the Fall Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop.  They are also sponsoring a prize featuring some of these very products.

It would be lovely if you would stop by the G45 Facebook page or their Instagram page, and leave them a comment, thanking them for this giveaway.  Just mention that the Coffee Loving Cardmakers sent you.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'm leaving you with the shopping link below.  It's wonderful isn't it?  That tea cup.... the sentiments.... you're very welcome!

Magic Potion Coffee with TPD Stamps for Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop

We're winding up the September stamp release at Two Paper Divas with a store wide sale in celebration of the Fall Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop.  A discount of 25% will be taken off at checkout so if you've got a wishlist, now's the time to stock up.

Since we're talking about coffee, I've got an unusual project today that spotlights that magic bean, that juice that gets my day jumping..... yes, indeed, coffee is a magic potion for many of us, wouldn't you say?

I wanted to create a Halloween card so I've taken a page from a used Harry Potter paperback that I picked up specifically for re-purposing.  I've paired it with Graphic 45 Rare Oddities papers to spotlight that magic potion..... coffee!  I'm using the Afternoon Tea stamp which is from the newest release.  Notice how my theme ties everything together?  Coffee sitting on books, a book shelf in the background and a page from a book.  I'm an avid reader as well so if you have a good book recommendation, I'm all ears.

It is also no coincidence that this page is from the Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets book.  The chapter title is The Polyjuice Potion.  The story line is when Professor Dumbledore's bird, Fawkes, caught on fire.  My polyjuice potion is coffee.  It turns me into a human, haha!  I've also distressed my book page and added splatters as well.  And, we have a bird in the background which ties to the story line also.   This is a large card at 5"x 7" and could easily be used as a display piece.

You can create a new project and join the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop as well.   Get the details here.   Two Paper Divas is a sponsor and is giving away prizes all week.  Details can be found on their blog.

Guest Designer for Adornit and Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop

Hello my fellow coffee loving friends!  I'm guest designing for Adornit and the  Coffee Loving Cardmakers Fall Blog HopAdornit is not only a lovely sponsor of the hop this time, but they are also about to release an entire host of new products, including an addition to their line of Art Play Paintables called, "Coffee Talk".

Adornit has once again partnered with artist Lindsay Ostrom to design this line of Art Play.  Lindsay is truly gifted in lettering and doodling and I love her designs so much.  I fell in love with this image which obviously is paying homage to one of my favorite coffee hangouts.

I used my Tombow dual brush markers, as my coloring medium, by swiping on an acrylic block and grabbing the color with my water brush.  Don't have an Adornit waterbrush?  Get yours, here.  Such a simple technique that always yields fantastic results.  You can also used your diluted ink to tap droplets all over your project.  Gel pens are another tool that I frequently use for added embellishment on my projects to make wording, flowers, or my background stand out.  Of course, this is a Fall themed blog hop so I've added some leaf buttons from Buttons Galore and embellished with twine and burlap string.

For this next image, I wanted to play around with orange and brown colors as those are typical Fall colors.   I'm once again using the same watercolor technique, however this time I'm using my Zig Clean Color markers, along with gel pens.  I've added some fun Fall embellishments and splattered a doily with orange misting spray.  The easiest way to splatter is to unscrew your misting bottle and just tap droplets onto your project.

Don't be afraid to play around with the letters.  Grab a white gel pen and add little dots or stripes.  I love that Lindsay added some white space when she designed her wording, so I can color it in to my liking.

My final project has absolutely nothing to do with Fall.  Well, it does in a way, just not your typical Fall card.   I have to say, this is my absolute favorite image out of all 12 images that are included in the Coffee Talk line.

Why?  It's perfect for so many occasions; get well, thinking of you,  or just because.   October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it is a cause that is near and dear to my heart.  My mom and sister have both battled this disease (successfully!) and this image really spoke to me.  I wanted to make a BCA card that might inspire you to do the same.

When Lindsay was coming up with ideas for the Coffee Talk line, I happily suggested this quote and I am absolutely tickled pink that it made the cut!   This is just one "out of the box" idea for using this image.  It's super versatile, which is what I love about it.

Adornit will be offering up a fun prize; their popular Halloween Coloring Book!  To qualify to win this prize, be sure to visit the link to the Fall Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop and follow instructions by entering your own coffee, cocoa or tea themed card and/or commenting on the participant entries.  Good luck!

Bottle Brush Tree Christmas Card for Two Paper Divas Stamps + News!

It's hard to believe that we're closing in on the end of September, isn't it?  Goodness, holiday season will soon be upon us and I am literally screaming for cooler weather to hurry up and get here.

Today, I'm sharing a gorgeous Christmas card featuring the new Bottle Brush Trees stamp set from Two Paper Divas Stamps.  Hang tight to the end, as there's a sale to announce as well!

This glitter bombed tree was first inked with Memento London Fog ink.  I chose a gray ink to give  a little better definition to my tree.  I tried both ways, with and without the underlying gray ink and trust me, you'll want to add a little undertone if you choose to heat emboss your tree.

Not only did I heat emboss my tree with pink glitter embossing powder, but I cut an additional piece of white cardstock with my scalloped die, pressed Versamark clear ink all around the edges, then heat embossed those edges to create a glittery backdrop for my tree.    It is absolutely stunning in person.

I also made a glitter embossed backing for my sentiment which is a Tim Holtz chat sticker.  To finish, I stamped my tree stand in TH distress ink and diluted some of the color with my waterbrush, then added a pretty twine bow.  My brown snowflake papers are from The Story of Christmas paper collection from Echo Park Papers and Lori Whitlock.

I love this card so much, I'm not sure I can bring myself to give it away!  I may just have to use it as a display piece.  We'll see which one of my friends or family can talk me out of it.....

SALE COMING UP!
Two Paper Divas is a sponsor of the Fall Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop and in celebration, they will have a store wide sale starting Friday, 9/23/16.  Grab some of their new coffee stamp sets and join the blog hop or stock up on some seasonal favorites.  Happy shopping!

Watercolored Bookmark with Adornit + Big News

I'm so happy to share that I've been chosen as a brand Ambassador for Adornit.  Officially, I'm an Adornit "It" Girl!  More about that in a minute, but first I want to show you this pretty bookmark that I made using the Adornit Art Play Paintables and distress ink to watercolor.

To get that pretty edging on my paper, I simply ran just the top and bottom edge through my Cuttlebug die cutting machine with a shaped nesting die.  Then, I jazzed up some of the white space around my art play image by stamping with a background stamp and distress ink and spreading some of the color around with my water brush.  I've also added stickers from the Documented Faith collection.  For this project, I placed my stickers on white cardstock, chopped up my stickers and ran them through my Xyron sticker machine, for a little bit of raised dimension.

Purchase here.

Now for my happy news.  As an Adornit Ambassador, I'll be sharing lots of new products in the coming months and showcasing my creations as well.  Adornit is pulling out all the stops with several new lines of product and has added a couple of new licensed artists who have developed some super fun crafty products to create with.  I can't wait to share all the fun stuff headed your way.

I've got an upcoming project that will be on the Adornit blog soon that features one of their brand new collections of Art Play Paintables and it just might have something to do with coffee!  Stay tuned!

"Be" Yourself with Two Paper Divas Stamps

The September release at Two Paper Divas Stamps is still in full swing and today I'm featuring the
"Be" stamp set, which is perfect for journaling, card making, scrapbooking and DIY projects.

Each one of us is unique and, whether you believe it or not, we each have a purpose in this life.  I love that this stamp set celebrates the many aspects of an individual and whatever particular place you may be in your life; overcoming an obstacle, celebrating your creativity, or just honoring those little moments that bring happiness and joy.

I chose to stamp my image in a stacked format and pair it with the Everyday Heroes and Coffee Talk paper collections from Heartfelt Creations.  I wanted to create a beautiful environment around my words, showing the inner beauty of each us.  There's enough ugly in this world; let's make beautiful remembrances!

Some of the featured accents on this Shabby Chic card are; 3-D paper flowers and butterflies, stencils from The Crafters Workshop, lace and canvas ribbon.

Nested Owls and Planner Pages with Adornit + Free Design Space Cut File

As promised, if you saw a little snippet of my decorative planner borders last week, here's the final result.  This is my September spread for my Adornit coloring planner that features those cute little scalloped edge borders.  Stay with me for just a few minutes and I'll share how to make those in multiple stacks as a time saver, which, if you're like me, time is a precious commodity!

The papers I'm using today are from the Nested Owl collection and are too darn cute, don't you think?  Grab the entire collection via the clickable link below.

Adornit Nested Owl 12 x 12 Paper Pack

In addition to these fun papers, I'm also using Adornit stickers and planner stamps as well.  I used my gel pen to color my sticker which is from the Month Titles Clear stickers collection and I'm using the "Dated" and "Noted" Planner stamps from the Documented Faith collection.  They are currently not in stock at Adornit, however you can find them at Scrapbook.com.

Earlier this year, I designed a 1.5" square with rounded corners to decorate my planner squares.  You can find the free cut file by clicking the link at the end of this post.  It's designed for Cricut Explore users and the design space program but you could substitute with a 1.5" square punch and corner rounder punch.

Now, with all this chit chat, let me get on with these cute little borders.  If you have a die cutting machine such as a Cuttlebug, Big Shot, etc., and a scalloped die, you can do this.

After cutting (or punching) my rounded squares, I placed them in 3 layer stacks on my cutting plate, then placed my die face down  so there's a scalloped edge from my die on both stacks.  Layering this with 3 tiered squares also speeds up the cutting process so instead of just one square being cut at a time, I have 6!  Be sure and run this through your machine a couple times to make sure you get a good cut.  I tried four layers but the paper was just a tad too thick to allow four in one cut.  As an added bonus, not only do you have the cute scalloped border edge, but you also have the remaining cut which was like a wave border.  I placed some of those in my planner as well.

Use the borders on the top or bottom of your daily planner squares for that eye pleasing pop!

New Release at TPD Stamps - Day 2 + Sale

It's day 2 of the new release at Two Paper Divas and today, I'm featuring two of the new stamp sets, Afternoon Tea and One Cup at a Time.  They're on sale today as well so don't wait, if you're thinking about ordering.

I wanted to make a card that would be gender friendly, appropriate for a guy or girl, so I stuck with mostly neutral tones, for today's project.

I used the TPD background stamps on my books as well, stamping my background stamps on white cardstock, then stamping my Afternoon Tea image on top.  I stamped my tea image again separately, so I could fussy cut my cup and add it on top of my colored books.  I wanted my books to have that grainy look that old canvas covered books sometimes have.  I love how they turned out!

I actually used a mix of Tombow dual brush and Zig Clean Colors for all my coloring.  Notice that piece of canvas fabric ribbon under my books?  To get that "scrunched" look, run your fabric through a sticker maker (Xyron) and when placed on cardstock, pinch it in sections.  And there's your bonus tip for the day!

New Release at Two Paper Divas Stamps - Day 1

It's time for the September release from Two Paper Divas Stamps and today, it's all about the holidays - Halloween and Christmas!  All the new release stamps are discounted 25% today and tomorrow but older holiday stamps on the site are currently marked at 30% off, so look around.

Today, I'm featuring Ho Ho Ho, which is this amazing vintage Santa Claus.

I'm coloring with my Zig Clean Color brushes today, using the Carmine Red on the cap and lips, then watercoloring with Almond Pink, Flesh and Tea Rose for the facial features.  His cap was adorned with Flower Soft in Polar White and the entire image was fussy cut and paired with the new Retro Christmas collection from Authentique Papers.

Check out what's on Santa's list.  He's not picky!  He just wants his milk and cookies, clear skies and to tear up the naughty list, haha.  All my writing was done with my Kaisercraft glitter pens.
