Ladybug Love Card

I'm so excited to share this adorable ladybug card for you today! There are so many beautiful papers in this collection and I really hated to cover up that floral pattern, so I decided to create a shaker focus in the center and have more of the patterned paper peeking through.

Initially, I was going to make a little girl card because ladybugs remind me of my sweet little niece. Then, I started looking through the ephemera and saw several "love" sentiments. I really love the one I used on my card and thought it would make an awesome Valentine card.

Although I used papers from the 12x12 inch collection kit, there's also a 6x6 paper pad available. The other products I used were ephemera and the ladybug dies. I used my Pops of Color black liquid embellishment on the wings to make them pop a bit more.

I also used several basics from Scrapbook.com to make this card; rectangle nesting dies for my black polka dot frame, adhesive/foam, a white A2 vertical card, acrylic sheets, and of course my exclusive black Platinum 6 die cut system which you can only get at Scrapbookcom. Also, a solid paper pad for my ladybug die cuts.

Souper One Layer Card

Every once in awhile, I enjoy making cards based on unique holidays. When I saw that Feb. 4th is National Homemade Soup Day, I could not wait to make a card to celebrate, haha! I love nothing more than making a big pot of homemade soup and eating on it for days. I was happy that I had just what I needed in my stash to pull off my soup card. I'm featuring products from Ink Blot Shop and I hope you'll scroll down to see what else inspired today's card!

My inspiration for this card is based on the lovely floral/teal cookware created by The Pioneer Woman. Ree Drummond is amazing and I absolutely drew my inspiration from her beautiful line of cookware. I follow her on Instagram and love taking some of her recipes for a spin from time to time.

Now, you know when you get an idea for a card and you silently tick off the items needed in your head to make the card? Happily, I had just what I needed to pull this off. I used 3 different stamp designs from Ink Blot Shop.

I did a fair amount of masking to pull off this one layer card, plus (confession time) I chopped off the edge of one of my floral border stamps. GASP, HORRORS!  Haha, not a big deal, it will still stamp properly when I stamp again with the border stamp. That's when a stamp positioner comes in handy.

I also used a variety of Copic Markers for my coloring. No fancy ink blending, just straight coloring.

I also had a silver metallic gel pen that I used for the metal rims of the lid and pot. I also used a white gel pen to accent my bloom centers.

Winter Church Scene Card

Hello friends, I'm back from a short break with this card featuring products from Erin Lee Creative. I fell in love with the Winter Church Scene Stencil Set that was from one of her newer releases recently. Obviously, I had to have it! I also used the Joy to the World die set for my sentiment. 

Change up the sentiment and this wintry scene can easily pass as a post-holiday thank you card! I'm already building my Christmas card stack for Christmas 2024 though. Scroll down for creative details, plus I'll also have my supply list linked at the end of this post if you'd like to shop.

There are 7 stencils included in this set, to create a winter scene. I would suggest you number each stencil in the order that you plan to use them. I used a variety of Ranger Inks and Catherine Pooler inks, as the color combinations were complimentary for what I was going for. For instance, my Catherine Pooler inks had the right shade of green for the trees whereas, my Ranger Ink included the colors I needed for the night sky. Use what you have! I also used blender brushes with my inking.

Here's the breakdown of colors used for my A2 sized card:

Church lights -Ranger Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink

Church Building - CP Pebble and Hoodie gray ink

Church Roof/Tree Trunk - Ranger Ink Ground Espresso Distress Ink

Night Sky Ink blending- Ranger Ink Prize Ribbon distress ink

Ranger Ink Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink 

My snow was stenciled onto my trees using Scrapbookcom Cloud Whip (with a palette knife) which gave a a bit of dimension. I let it dry naturally but you can use a craft heat tool to speed up the process. Dry carefully though, as the paste could possibly bubble up.

I also splattered on Ranger Ink white heavy acrylic paint for the snow in the sky. Look closely and you might even see a comet or two!

For my moon, I used a circle punch on printer paper. I dabbed in some white pigment ink with a large dauber, using the negative punched area on the paper as a stencil. I also used a water brush to drag some of the pigment ink across the moon, blotting the wet area with a paper towel for a cloudy look.

My die cut sentiment was created using some holographic papers from a pad I had in my stash, but Erin Lee has a lovely selection in her shop, here. I cut 3 sentiments and glued them together for more dimension. The outline die was cut with black cardstock and it's popped up on adhesive foam.
