Pink Haunted House Card for Catherine Pooler Designs

Hello friends. I have another card to share from Catherine Pooler Designs, featuring products from the Halloween on Main collection. I'm also pulling out a CPD cover die from my stash and showing you how to find other ways to use products in a new way! Scroll down for details! My full supply list is at the end.

But first, let's name this card. I sometimes like to do this, do you? This card is called the Pink House on Haunted Hill. It features the new Made Me Blush ink that I am absolutely in love with. Such a gorgeous shade of pink!

Did you know there's an actual pink haunted house in Savannah, GA? The Olde Pink House currently serves as a restaurant. The history of this mansion dates back to 1771 and is widely considered one of the most haunted sites in America. But enough of that, let's get inky, using the Haunted Manor bundle!

I started by doing some ink smooshing on white cardstock with the CPD Succulent ink. I did two layers of color, heat setting between each inking with my craft heat tool. I love ink smooshing because it's such an easy technique. Have you tried it?

You simply press your ink pad onto a craft mat, spritz with water, then dab your cardstock randomly into the mix. Sorry I didn't get a photo of the creative process, I got caught up in creating and forgot!

After ink smooshing, I splattered a spritzed mix of the Made Me Blush ink with a wet paintbrush.

I love creating scenic cards. Don't ask me why, but my mind went back to May when the CPD Ocean Wonders collection was released. I felt like the bubble feature from the Under The Sea cover plate would be really cool paired with my haunted scene.

So, I grabbed my CPD Midnight cardstock to create the cover plate die cut, using my Platinum 6 die cut machine. Then, I simply hand trimmed the sea weed from the die cut with my scissors, so I'm left with nothing but the outline.

See? Easy peasy! Just what I wanted! I also carefully hand trimmed a hillside slope with the same cardstock, being careful not to cover any of the bubbles, as I wanted the ink smooshing to show underneath. It was a little tricky and I had to make additional snips here and there but..... mission accomplished!

Check out that moon! I love, love, love the moon! I used my stamp positioner to ink it up, stamping first with CPD Tiara ink halfway down, then stamping with Made Me Blush ink for the top half. 

By the way, I saved the black die cut remnant circles leftover from the cover plate die cut, and glued many of those circles to my scene. I also glued sequins onto some of the empty circles using the new Stars Hallow Sequin Mix.

For my cemetery, I inked up the tombstones in CPD Succulent, Mandarin Spice and Midnight inks, and layered my card panel with patterned paper from the CPD Moonlit Manor paper pack.

This is a side fold card and the full dimension are 4 3/4 " by just under 6", because I tend to create first and measure later, haha!

Autumn on Main Card Trio for Catherine Pooler Designs

Hello friends. The new Autumn on Main collection from Catherine Pooler hit the shop this week, and I have a trio of cards to share. Fall is my favorite season and I had lots of fun playing with this release. I know you will too! Scroll down for details. You'll find my full supply list at the end of this post.

All three of my cards feature products from the Mitford Falls Bundle, although products can be purchased separately. 

I used lots of CPD inks for all 3 cards which include Mandarin Spice, Bay Breeze, Sauna, S'mores, Clay Mask, Spiced and Sea Glass.

For the card above, I did some ink blending on white cardstock, then placed my tree die from the Mitford Falls dies over the ink blending, and proceeded to die cut. I cut 3 trees and then lots of tiny leaves from more dies from the set.

Next, I splattered lots of Copper Shimmer with a small dry paintbrush. I also pressed some S'mores ink on an acrylic block, spritzed with a little water, and then splattered that on the trees as well.

Lastly, I used a mask tape technique to stamp my sentiment in various ink colors, then hand trimmed the cardstock. I also added paper strips at the bottom of my card for added visual appeal. The strips were trimmed from the Woodland Walk patterned paper pack and the Ginger cardstock from the Spa Cardstock assortment.

Next up is this card that features lots of pretty patterned paper, stamping, die cutting, ink smooshing and more.

I started by ink smooshing these tree die cuts from the Mitford Falls die set. I also swiped some S'mores ink onto white cardstock, then ran my tree trunk/branch die and the inky cardstock through my Platinum 6 die cut machine.

I kept the front of my card scenic, but stamped a sentiment on the inside, and added some trimmed cardstock at the bottom.

My bakery image is a stamp in the Mitsford Falls stamp set, and I stamped it twice. Once with Spiced ink, and the other with Bay Breeze. I then used a small die in the Mitford Falls die set that will trim out the bakery sign, so I trimmed it from the Bay Breeze inking. Then, I simply adhered it to my Spiced stamped bakery at the top. I also did a little watercoloring on my bakery accents/awindows/door. I simply pressed a bit of Bay Breeze ink onto my craft mat, spritzed with water, and colored in with a water brush.

I love the Nested Arch dies, and used those on my card above. I also used the cloud dies from the Smile Bright die set. It's my go to when I need cloud dies. I inked them up with Sea Glass and Mandarin Spice ink, the same inks I used to ink the top of my arch die cut panel.

Lastly, I have a very ink scene for my 3rd card. This was actually the first card I shared on social media this past week.

I decided to mask my images, so could ink blend all around them.

I have a roll of wide low-tack mint tape that I used to not only mask a sloped area for my scene but also to stamp my images on mint tape for masking the stamped images on my card. This is a one layer card and I love the little challenges that come with creating a one layer card like this.

My ink blending was done with Mandarin Spice, Sauna and Clay Mask for my sky, and Spiced ink for the masked slope. Once all the ink blending was done, I pulled off the tape from the trees and the sloped area, which is where my sentiment would be stamped.

Finally, I made white paint splatters for the stars in the sky, and I splattered Copper Shimmer and some Lime Rickey Shimmer mixed with Bay Breeze near my slope (this was done before removing the tape). I wanted this to appear as foliage on the ground. I also used a dry paint brush to paint the Copper Shimmer leaves on my trees.
