Hey fellow crafters. Today's card is a collaboration with Catherine Pooler Designs and Pear Blossom Press. Both teams were tasked with creating a light up card and I'm so excited to share what I've created today! I'm also using a technique I rarely do - emboss resist. Why I rarely do this, I don't know. But, after today's results, I just might have to create with this technique more often!
There's also an Instagram Hop and giveaway and you don't want to miss out. Make sure you head over to either company Instagram page to hop along and be entered for a prize.
(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)
Keep in mind, the Instagram Hop begins on Nov 5, 2026 at 9 am ET and ends Nov 8, 2026. Before you head over there, I'd love for you to hang with me for just a minute.

I don't have every detail imaged from the creative process, but I began by stamping my trees and church on white cardstock using Wow white embossing powder paired with their clear ultra drying embossing pad, and stamping with my Misti stamp positioner.
Then, I took my CPD Dress Blues ink pad and directly swiped it all across my scene. The emboss resist technique comes into play when you swipe the ink off the embossed areas with a damp paper towel. Pretty cool, huh?
Pleases note, I did place a wide strip of low tack tape across the base of the church and tree line, so I could leave the bottom portion of the card panel white. Like snow!
Next, I used my CPD Around the Loop Nested Dies to create the oval shape for my scene.
I decided to add an oval white border around my scene and pop my card panel on 3mm foam strips. This also allows space for the battery on the back side.
I also used a craft knife to cut out the church steeple windows. I'm not gonna lie, it's not an absolute perfect trim, haha. I need a new craft knife!
Did you know Pear Blossom Press has a variety pack of colored vellum? Oh my gosh, everyone needs a pack in their stash! I trimmed a small piece of the yellow vellum and taped it to the backside of the steeple windows. I feel like this gives a more warm glow when you press to light up.
Now, don't let the picture above scare you. I started taping down the battery and wires with low tack tape, but it just wasn't tacky enough, so I found some washi tape in my stash that was super sticky and taped over those areas, including the lights as they really needed to be stabilized.
I'm using the EZ lights from PBP and it's so easy to use. I didn't even need instructions and pretty quickly put everything together. There are actually 3 tiny lights but I only needed 2, so I pulled one down away from the steeple windows. The pack I received comes with 2 sets.
By the way, these lights have long wires so, if you needed to, you could spread the wires out to have lights reflect in multiple sections for a card.
I also added splattered white paint for snow, but while the paint was still wet, I sprinkled lots of Wow Halo embossing glitter and let it dry. The sky is so sparkly and pretty but it doesn't show up in these photos.
Lastly, I heat embossed my sentiment which is from the CPD Holiday Joy stamp set, onto that gorgeous blue cardstock from the CPD Party Mix cardstock assortment.
**Attention CPD fans! If you have the More Sentiment Banner Dies in your stash, one of those banner dies works perfectly with the sentiment above!!**
I also stamped the word "press" onto my oval frame before adhering it. The stamp set with that word is included in the Pear Blossom Press stamp & die set.
And, voila, press the button and the steeple lights up! I was so proud of this card, I took it to work and all my co-workers oo'd and aahh'd, lol.
Thank so much for popping in today. You'll find links to most of the products I used below. Have a fantastic rest of the week!
Terri
