Mirror Image Event Joint Blog with My Sweet Petunia, So Suzy Stamps and The Ton

It's day seven of the Mirror Image event, hosted by So Suzy Stamps.  I'm so happy to be sharing my take on mirror stamping, featuring the Rose Bloom, So Suzy Ink Bites and the Thoughts and Prayers sentiment.  Although sympathy cards are not always a cardmakers favorite thing to do, due to sad circumstances, I do make quite a few as a church ministry outreach.  I know you'll be seeing lots of creative ways to use the Mirror Image Stamp, so here's yet another way.

Be sure you are commenting on the featured project every day, (to be entered into the drawing for prizes) which will be added daily to this blog post, here, plus, take a look at the short video at the end of that post that shows you how to use the mirror image stamp, designed specifically to be used with the Misti.

I've got a short video of my own that shows how I stamped the mirror image of the Rose Bloom.

Once I stamped my images, I did some watercoloring with several of the So Suzy Ink Bites, including Mellow Mint and Caribbean Coral from the Coastal Breeze Ink Bite collection, and Happy Hunter and Simply Sinful from the Autumn Equinox Ink Bites collection.  Just press your ink pad onto a craft mat and grab the colors with a water brush.  I like to use up my scraps of sticker paper that is leftover from my Xyron machine.  So easy and clean is a breeze by tossing in the trash.  A great alternative if you don't have a craft mat.

I used a white gel pen to soften the edges and add some highlights.

When dried, I decided to amp up the color by adding the Mango Marmalade Ink bite colors from the Autumn Equinox collection and some tiny black dots with a Marvy extra fine black pen.  The cardstock that I'm using is from DCWV and I've also added some polka dot ribbon from American Crafts.

Isn't that sentiment font fabulous?  I love it and this is a must have sentiment to add to your collection.  Below are some affiliate shopping links.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Making a Quick Gift Card Set + A Few Favorite Things

I had to whip a super quick gift card set for a Secret Santa gift for a teacher.  Teachers always need thank you cards, right?  Thanks to my brand spanking new Misti stamping tool, it made the process a whole lot quicker and streamlined.  My only regret?  Not getting my hands on this amazing tool sooner!

Available at Scrapbook.com

This project was made possible by a few of my favorite products:

1. The stamps are from So Suzy Stamps.  She's currently having a remodel of her website so if you are dying to get your hands on the these stamps, bookmark and check back in a week, two weeks tops.  The target for revamping the website was 1/1/16 but there's a likelihood that it will be up and running sooner.

2. The Misti.  It's wonderful.  If you're a stamper/crafter and have been holding out, scrape your pennies together and take the plunge.  Look at the deep black perfection of my stamped images.  That was not possible without the Misti.  This tool will take my crafting to a whole new level.  Discover all you need to know about the Misti from the inventor over at My Sweet Petunia.

3.  The customized padded zip pouch from Simply Charming Everyday.  She's an exclusive provider of Misti covers and you're going to want to protect your Misti.  Plus, it's great for traveling and tossing in a few extra items, plus keeping track of those magnets!  I adore all things coffee and this vintage pouch is perfect.  You can get one too, or a choice of many different offerings, including custom covers for your Scan N Cut, Bunkie Bags and more.  You'll also find her products on the So Suzy Stamps website.

4.  Cardstock from DCWVInc.  I love the Garden Charm collection from DCWV.  These may still be available at JoAnn Craft Stores so be sure to check.  DCWV is one of my favorite paper companies.  I love the thick cardstock with glossy accents in this collection.  Plus, it's the perfect garden setting for my fairy!
