Coffee Loving Papercrafters Hop feat Pajama Crafter Stamps

Today's card features the Pajama Crafter Stamps Pumpkin & Spice stamp set, paired with OLO Marker coloring.

I did a little Googling to find a color palette that might fit with some of the marker colors I had on hand and found this gorgeous assemblage of colors, which inspired my cardmaking today. I don't often work with pre-fabricated color palettes, but chose to do so today, for the fun of it!

I started by stamping my image using a hybrid ink from Scrapbookcom called Leather. It's one of my favorites for stamping in natural tones, and it works well with either alcohol markers or watercoloring.  They're having a sale right now and coupon code HOLIDAY will get you an additional 10% off your purchase through Sunday Nov. 9th. These are the OLO Marker colors I used:

OR1.0, O4.6, Y2.2, OR4.2, YO2.5, YO2.3, YG8.5, 02.7, OR3.4, R0.6, OR2.5, OR1.6, YG8.7

After coloring my images, I masked an area around the whipped cream with mint tape and splattered on some Pops of Color liquid embellishment in Chocolate Kiss, diluted with a bit of water. Then, I went in and added extra dots from the bottle, onto my whipped cream.

Here's a bonus tip: To get your liquid embellishments flattened so it doesn't dry with a curl, take your embellished card panel, pick it up and slap it against a hard surface like your craft table. This will flatten your liquid embellishment drops. 

For my sentiment, I did some heat embossing using Wow Embossing Powder in Verdant which is a mix of gold and green colors. I also did some ink blending around my card panel using Catherine Pooler Ink in Icing On The Cake and Amber.

Lastly, the backing for my card panel was created using a dark solid green paper from my Market Bloom paper pad and Simon Hurley Bark 3D embossing folder, run through my Platinum 6 die cut system.

Autumn Leaves Coffee Card

It's National Coffee Day and I'm thrilled to share this card that represents my favorite season of the year and my favorite life sustaining beverage!  This day was made for me! I'm sure many of you feel the same so, yes, I will share this day with you as well, haha!

This card features the Fall Breeze stamp set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps and has quickly become a favorite of mine.

Here's a bonus tip: I chose to create a white rim around the top of my cup. Just use a light color and draw a line with your Copic Marker from one side to the other. I used my lightest yellow marker. Just make sure it's a color that will easily blend in with the other colors you're using.

 

I kept the same color scheme throughout this project, blending with my Copic markers. I even did a little stamp surgery on the flourish that's stamped randomly. Yup, I cut my stamp in pieces. It will still stamp beautifully when I piece it back!

Let me mention, that when I stamped these images, I wanted a more muted tone, not a harsh black. It really makes the leaves look more natural, if that's possible! My absolute favorite brown is a hybrid leather colored ink that I use allllll the time. It's a great earthy tone and really helps bring your colored images to life. Hybrid inks are a must for me when coloring with Copic Markers as I have no issues whatsoever with bleeding.

Summer Coffee Love with Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps

Hey crafty guys and gals, I'm sharing this fun summer and coffee themed card today for 

Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps.  This month, food and drink themed stamps are on sale, so of course I had to come up with a project featuring my favorite beverage.  You guessed it, coffee!  I'm featuring the sentiment stamp, I Mean Coffee , and the Coffee Cup Heart stamp designed by my talented teammate, Tracy McLennon.

Before I talk about the stamps, let me share a couple of creative details about this card.

First, I hand drew a pair of clouds, fussy cut them and used as a mask on my card while blending my background.  I tore some paper and used the edge to blend waves onto my watercolor paper.

For my cup, I tore the bottom edge and used the edge to create a dark shadow and have my cup appear as if it's been embedded into the sand.  The ink colors I'm using today are Ranger Ink Distress Ink in Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Fossilized Amber, Hickory Smoke (for shading my clouds), and Distress Oxide Ink in Vintage Photo for the sand.

This was such a fun card to create and surprisingly easy!  Give it a try!

New Freebie Stamps, Sale and Winners Announced
