I'm so happy to participate once again in the Stamping For Autism Awareness Blog Hop. It's organized by my talented crafty friends Tenia Nelson and Veronica Fletcher Zalis. And guess what? You can join in too! There are a ton of wonderful sponsors offering up prizes for this wonderful event, so don't miss out. Get all the details, here.
(Please note: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links. This does not affect your purchase price.)
My extended family has been directly impacted by autism, as have several close friends. I've seen first hand, working in a medical related field, how families are impacted and the many dynamics that come into play, particularly when dealing with a child who has autism and can't properly convey their feelings and emotions. I am no expert by any means but I do know that the earlier that treatments and therapies are begun, the better it is for the child/adult. I will let those with more authority and experience speak on the matter. I just hope that those of you who are putting eyes on my writing today know that I and many others care!
I picked out a stamp set that has been in my stash but not gotten much use; Simon Says Stamp's Seeing Stars. I thought it was the perfect encouraging set to go along with the theme that I had in mind.
Simon Says Clear Stamps SEEING STARS sss101640 - $15.99 Set of high quality clear photopolymer Stamps! This full sheet of stamps measures 5.75 inches by 4 inches. Designed to coordinate with our August 2016 Card Kit.Made in the USA. |
Since the theme is encouragement and blue is the color that represents autism awareness, a galaxy blue background and scattered stars were the perfect pairing, not to mention that fabulous sentiment!
I've used various Ranger Inks blended on watercolor paper, paint splatters and the Strobes stencil from Visible Images, with white chalk ink. My sentiment was inked with white pigment ink and heated with clear embossing powder. I used a white gel pen to make the sentiment pop a little more. Papers are from the Americana collection from Pebbles Inc.
