Glimmering Peonies Birthday Card for Spellbinders

Hello friends, I'm back with another project for Spellbinders, creating with some of the new arrivals. The Glimmering Flowers collection is one of the new releases this month and I'm featuring several products. Scroll down for creative details that also include a bonus gift tag. I absolutely love this release. I'm also a huge fan of stamping so I opted to use my Spellbinders Opaque Black Glimmer Hot Foil for my image which gives that stamp effect that I love. This is the Glimmering Peonies Hot Foil Plate and Layering Stencils set that I'm using. As of this writing, these went like hot cakes on the Spellbinders site and are currently sold out, however they are in stock at Scrapbook.com.

My sentiments were foiled on black cardstock using the White Opaque Hot Foil, with the new Glimmer Curved Everyday Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.

I was going to make an extra card but had a little mishap with my foiling. I think I wiggled my paper when laying it down on my Glimmer machine and it wasn't a perfect foil. Rather than toss it, I was able to salvage a portion to create the lovely gift tag that you see below!

The inks that I'm using are from Catherine Pooler and I'll have those linked in my supply list below, as well.

Also, I recently purchased the Splatter White from Spellbinders. It's brand new and creates those delicious white splatters, without your card ink seeping through. I love it! A teeny tiny bit is all you need, diluted with a tiny bit of water. There's only 0.25 oz in the jar but it will last a long time. I usually create my mix on an acrylic block, then flick it off the edge of the block with my paintbrush.

The layering stencils accommodate 5x7 inch cards but I've scaled my image down to fit an A2 size card. The stencils are numbered, so you know the order in which to color your image. Let me know if you have any questions in the comment section. Have a great day!

Gift Wrap Coordinated Birthday Tags

I had to buy some birthday gifts for the little's in our family and thought, "why not incorporate the gift wrap into my tags?".  I used some of my alpha dies along with my tag dies from Scrapbookcom to accomplish this and it was so easy.

I cut 4 of the tag dies on white cardstock with my Platinum 6, so I could adhere my trimmed gift wrap inbetween two of them and write a personal note on the back.

The alphabet dies that I used are called "Joyful" and I used the smaller set included in the package.

I ran these through my Platinum 6, lining the letters up on my tag die cut to create the names, Houston and Harper.

I love the funky design of those dies! Next, I did some ink blending around the outside of my die using my Catherine Pooler Inks. The balloons are from a stitching die of the month set from Spellbinders. I had a few balloons left over from a previous project, but Scrapbookcom also has a selection of balloon dies here.

This is such a cool way to add gift wrap to your tags. I have a reel over on Instagram if you'd like to see the gift tags paired with the gifts. Unfortunately, I didn't get an extra photo of the wrapped gifts.

Spellbinders March Stitching Die Club Card

Has your home decor ever inspired your cardmaking? Today's card for Spellbinders features the new March Stitching Die of the Month Club selection, I'm taking a cue from my latest mug. Scroll down for details! You'll find products linked at the end of this post as well.

I recently purchased a tea mug with a removable infuser insert. I've recently become obsessed with all things tea, and this gorgeous rainbow speckled mug was the inspiration for my stitched card.

All my stitching die cuts and elements were made using my Platinum 6 die cut system. I love using the  variegated DMC embroidery floss and chose complimentary colors that were featured on my mug. I actually cut several of the background dies with different colored cardstock before settling on the terra cotta background panel as the base.

 

I also framed my card with some ink blended blooms from the Sealed Wildflowers die set. All my stitching elements are popped up on adhesive foam and my sentiment, from the Sentimental Greetings Clear stamp set was ink blended on the edges and popped up on double adhesive foam.

When do you find extra time to stitch? I keep a little tote bag ready and toss in what I need when I'm headed to appointments.
