It's Day 2 of The Ribbon Resource Halloween Blog Hop with the Prima Ribbonistas! Be sure and check out all the fun halloween projects that the girls have created for this special 2 day event, and follow the instructions to be entered to win a gift card to the Ribbon Resource online store.
Here's the line-up for today's hop if you get lost along the way:
For my project, I've made some easy mini ribbon pumpkins for a light string.
It's as simple as rolling your ribbon and tying a knot! I only made four of these pumpkins because I ran out of ribbon (I've been using this gorgeous ribbon a lot!) so keep in mind you'll need a 32" strip for each pumpkin. The supply list below is for four pumpkins.
You will need these ribbons:
JE-28 1.5" Sheer Bittersweet Iridescent Ribbon (3.5 yrds)
To begin, cut your bittersweet ribbon into four 32" strips, or just grab your roll, and roll it around your fingers four times. Gently remove it from your hand, keeping intact.
Take one end of your ribbon and tuck it through your rolled loops, pulling out both ribbon ends from opposing sides
Bring your ends together at the top and tie a loose knot. Cut a 3" piece of your green polka dot ribbon and thread through the looped hole. Tie into a single knot, then pull the loose orange knot closed tightly. Pull your orange ribbon loops out and shape to form a pumpkin. Trim the ends as desired.
You can make a bunch of these to decorate your table, use with a place setting and a little name tag attached or, as pictured above, string lights through the center of your pumpkins and adhere with a little adhesive glue dot.
Fun, festive home decor that's easy to make. Once I got in the groove, it took about 1 minute to make each pumpkin. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Now, hop on over to Emily's blog....
