A Sympathy Card and Pouring Out The Heart

Last night, I began work on a sympathy card.  A shining light has left this earthly realm and is now with her Father in Heaven.  As our church home, friends and family mourn the loss of a beautiful life, (Kaye was beautiful, inside and out!) we're left with fresh memories and sorrow for our own loss.

Selfishness on our part, for she is home and rejoicing, having received her heavenly reward.  I didn't know her as long as many of my friends, but that doesn't diminish the love and friendship that we shared.  And so, the time comes to remember and share our hearts with her family.

I've heard many crafters over the years say how difficult it is for them to make sympathy cards.  I feel the opposite.  It's a way of pouring one's self out, in love and beauty.  My friend deserves to be remembered in such a way.

And so, the process and healing begins.  It blesses me to share beauty in times of heartache.  Acknowledging the life of one so loved is a joyous thing, albeit in the form of paint and paper.

I hope you'll feel differently about the gift that you give someone in their time of loss.  Thanks so much for letting me share with you today and spending these few moments with me.
God Bless!
