This project is featured on the So Suzy Stamps blog today, so if you stopped in for the tutorial, you're in the right place. I wanted to showcase some of the stamps from the new holiday release that can be done quickly and easily for your holiday cardmaking. This includes the Pine Branch, designed by the very talented Olesya Kharkova, the Peace sentiment (designed by yours truly!) and the pointy stars stamp from the August release. To begin, you will need a few key ingredients in addition to the stamps mentioned above:
-Mixed media or watercolor paper
- clear embossing powder
-Black dye ink pad
-Ranger Ink Blender Tool
- Coloring markers of choice
-White pigment ink
-White gel pen
-Ranger Distress Ink (Faded Jeans)
-Stamp Positioner
-Black cardstock (trimmed to A2 sized card)
-Oval large stitched dies
-Crank Die Cut machine
-Craft Heat tool
-waterbrush or small paintbrush
-adhesive runner
1. Cut an oval shape or use a large oval stitched die and your die cutting machine. Ink the upper half with distress ink, blending darker at the top.
2. Stamp your Pine Branch at an angle and your Peace sentiment with black dye ink, using a Misti stamp positioner, stamping 2-3 times for full coverage. Immediately cover with clear embossing powder and tap off excess, heat. Use a small dry paintbrush to remove any extra powder around your sky area. Heat dry.
3. Use an olive green marker or color of your choosing, to color in the branches.
4. Mask your pointy stars stamp and use the smaller star to ink on your sky. Touch up with white gel pen if needed.
5. Use a small paintbrush or waterbrush to add tiny droplets of water on your sky. Blot with paper towel.
6. Adhere to your card and you are done! I did trim down the top of my A2 black card about 1/2" on top and side so that my oval shape would appear larger.
