I'm up on the So Suzy Stamps blog today, sharing this watercolor, no-line coloring Thanksgiving Card. If you popped in for the tutorial, you're in the right place.
You will need:
-watercolor paper
-Ranger Ink distress oxides and distress ink
-white cardstock, trimmed and scored to 4.x 6 inch card
-stamp positioner
-very light (beige) dye ink (So Suzy Stamps Egyptian Sand from
Coastal Breeze Ink Bites collection)
-black dye ink
-foam squares
-adhesive runner
-craft heat tool
-white acrylic paint *optional
-sequins
- clear liquid glue
-water mister bottle
1. Trim a piece of watercolor paper to layer on top of your white card. Stamp lightly with light beige dye ink and quickly dry with heat tool
2. Use your stamp positioner to ink various leaves off the edge of the watercolor paper.
3. I mixed various colors together, including some of my Ranger distress markers. Use the colors that suit you. To begin though, I pressed my ink pad onto my craft mat, grabbing the color and painting randomly, leaving space on each leaf for various colors. Once I colored all my leaves with one layer, I went back and added more color for darker depth. Be sure and heat dry between the first and second layer of coloring.
4. For the beech line leaf that was left brown, I added Brushed Corduroy distress ink and watercolored.
5. If you would like to add water splatters, spray water in your hand and splatter. Blot with paper towel and heat dry.
6. Add white paint droplets with a very small, fine tipped paintbrush, heat dry.
7. Glue sequins and mount your watercolored panel to the white card with foam squares or foam tape.
8. Add your sentiment, inked on white cardstock with black dye ink and mount with foam squares.
You are done!!
Thanks for popping in today. I hope you give this fun technique a try. It's super easy to do and the color options are endless!
