I finally had some time to play with the new stamp and die sets that were released last month from Erin Lee Creative. I absolutely fell in love with them and had to have them for my stash! I'm featuring the Eggs & Bacon Die Set, the Waffle Die Set and the Breakfast Sentiments Stamp Set. Scroll down for details, and my supply list at the end.

Call me crazy, but I thought these would make really fun Anniversary or Valentine cards. My husband would totally get a kick out of receiving one of these!
When working with dies, you need to have some really great cardstock or papers on hand. Luckily, I have sooo many paper pads. I can't believe I stumbled on the perfect paper combo to make the bacon. It's a Scrapbookcom paper pad called "Daybreak". I also used the light yellow paper from that pad for my waffle dies.
For that gorgeous dark yellow "yolk", I used another paper pad called Joyful, and my plaid papers are from a sheet of Echo Park Paper scrapbook paper from the Little Ladybug collection.
Of course, inking up some plain white cardstock is also an option, if you don't have the right papers on hand.
I also used some Ranger Ink and my blending brushes. I used Vintage Photo distress oxide to ink blend around the edges of my die cut egg.
You'll also need some glue, to adhere the striped tops of the bacon to the bottom die cut piece. Most of my elements are popped up on adhesive foam strips to give dimension.
For my waffle card, I did more ink blending with Ranger Vintage Photo around the edges of my waffle and the syrup. I also added a layer of Ranger Glossy Accents to my syrup, so it would shine.
My butter was die cut on white cardstock, then ink blended with Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Fossilized Amber.
I wanted to create a breakfast plate for my waffle, so I grabbed my circle nesting dies and cut a white circle that was larger than my waffle, and also created a red circular frame that serves as the lining along the edge of my dinner plate. The red cardstock is from one of my Christmas paper pads.
I also adhered adhesive sheets to my red cardstock prior to die cutting, to make it easier to adhere to my plate. You can also use glue, I just find it easier to use adhesive sheets, plus I have a ton! You just peel off the liner after die cutting and place it right where you need it!
Or, you can just skip the whole process and just die cut a larger red circle and place the smaller white circle on top, which is actually easier. I think I was in my head and took the hard route, haha!
For my sentiment, I used the mask technique to ink the word "waffle". I simply placed tape over the other words, then directly applied the ink pad to the waffle wording with the same Ranger Vintage Photo ink on the top and bottom edges of the word, then Fossilized Amber along the middle.
You might need to do this several times to get the desired depth of ink color, which is why a stamp positioner is key to pulling this off. Just remember to remove the tape in between each stamping, or you'll have a mess that can't be fixed!
I decided I wanted to offset my waffle die, so once it was assembled to my plate, I simply trimmed the edges of the dinner plate along the bottom right and side of my card.
These are A2 sized cards. If you'd like to shop for any of the products that I used today, please click my affiliate links below. These are created at no additional cost to you.
