I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas holiday! I spent some time creating with the Spellbinders December release, Love On The Rocks. One of the things I love about the BetterPress plates is that you can foil with them, just like you would with a hot foil plate. I also tried a fun little trick for my sentiments. Scroll down and I'll tell you about it! You'll also find clickable product links at the end of this post.

I'm creating with the press plate from this collection, My Heart Beats For You. For two of my foiled card panels, I used the Spellbinders Pink foil, paired with some pink ombre papers for some tone on tone foiling with my Glimmer hot foil system, then run through my Platinum 6.
For one of my foiled card panels, I adhered one of the leftover negative foils to white cardstock. This is the card laying flat in the left corner in my photo above.
Here's the thing. I used a little trick by spraying my white cardstock with adhesive spray, let it dry for a minute, then laid down my negative foil on top, using a bone folder to smoothly adhere from bottom to top. So easy and quick and such a great way to use up your leftover negative foils. There is no peeling involved either, the entire negative foil will adhere intact so you'll have a pretty, shiny surface.
I used my Spellbinders white foil foil two ways for my sentiments. First I grabbed some pretty pink cardstock from my stash and foiled some sentiments with my white foil. I die cut those with the heart die included in the set.
Next, I saved my white negative foiled pieces to do the same adhesive spray technique that I did for my card panel. I sprayed the adhesive on some pink cardstock, (as pictured above) let it dry for a minute, then applied my negative white foil piece on top, smoothing it out again with a bone folder. If you don't have a bone folder, you can use a pencil or marker as a smoothing tool.
Again, you're not going to peel off the foil after adhering when using negatives. Just die cut with the included heart die and you'll end up with a shiny white foiled sentiment with the pretty cardstock peeking through!
I went ahead and popped up all my sentiments on adhesive foam strips for visual appeal. I also ran the front of my white card through my Platinum 6 with my Spellbinders 3D embossing folder, Circle Illusion. It just gives yet another layer of added dimension peeking out from my foiled card panel.
Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and I love that I already have some cards ready to send to some of my favorite people. I absolutely love how this trio of cards turned out!
