I have another card to share for the Erin Lee Creative Birds of a Feather release. Today's card features the Vintage Book die set. I've created an open book, replete with paper trimmed page markers! I did some foiling, some ink blending and created a sweet little page turner, haha. Scroll down for all the details, with my clickable shopping supply list at the end.

I'm also using the ELC Handwriting hot foil plate for this project. There are sooo many uses for this hot plate, and I've used it for the script in my "book".
So, first I created 3 die cuts with the vintage book die. For 2 of my pages, I trimmed off the decorative edging to create my pages, then foiled those pages with my hot plate and and Spellbinders Aura foil which is a shimmery gold iridescent foil.
Once my foiling was done, I did some ink blending along the edges and all 3 die cuts using Ranger Distress Oxide Vintage Photo ink and my blender brush.
The first foiled die cut was adhered directly to my blank book die cut. The second outline was popped up on top of both die cuts with adhesive foam strips.
(CONFESSION TIME - One thing I wish I'd done differently here? After photographing my final images and editing and doing all the prep involved to share on social media, I saw my card with new eyes and wished I had done some ink blending along the inside center crease of my book page. I think a little definition there would have been a really nice accent. Next time, right?)
For my outline sentiment and bird, I die cut these on white card stock and ink blended the edges with Ranger Distress Oxide ink in Kitsch Flamingo. My word die was cut with black cardstock and glued to my outline. Both elements were popped up on adhesive foam strips, as wel..
I also colored the birds eyes and beaks black, and the wooden branch with my OLO Markers. The bird dies actually leave an impression of the eyes when die cut.
Lastly, I created the page markers or page holders for my book, trimming from the same paper that I used for my background. I'll have that paper pad linked below as well.
I also hot glued a half pearl embellishment that matched my color scheme, from an older Buttons Galore embellishment mix from my stash. It's somewhat of a copper color and coordinates beautifully! It was also needed to make sure my paper strips don't come loose.
There are also some glued clear sequin embellishments from my stash, scattered about on the card background.
Per the usual, I tend to create first and measure later. This card measures in at 4 1/2 x 6 inches. I could have scaled down a bit further but chose not to. I did score and trim my own card from 80 lb white cardstock.
Be sure and check out the entire new release, here! Just look for the "new" category. If you saw something you'd like to purchase, or want more product details, just click my affiliate links below, provided at no additional cost to you!
Have a great day! Terri
