I'm sharing two projects on my blog today, the first, for Graciellie Design's new release! We're having a blog hop with the design team and I'm your last stop on the hop. The new release is truly spectacular and I love that Gracie let's us choose what we'd like to work with. I have a heart for scriptural stamps so, I had to have "The Vine". I love working with these digital stamps because they are so easy to resize. Just print and color! Yes, you can run watercolor or mixed media paper through your printer, just make sure it's not too thick. I use a Canon Pixma printer with no problems.
Look at this release.....it's stunning, right? So many fabulous new sets. The Unicorn Wishes is the perfect compliment to last month's, Magical Wishes release. You'll find all the new digital release sets on Graciellie Designs on Etsy.
I love, love, love this grape cluster. I've never colored a grape cluster before so I wasn't sure how I would pull it off, but I'm happy to say, it turned out just like I envisioned on the first attempt! I used my Tombow dual brush markers, along with a water brush and a white gel pen. I used my water brush on the white gel too, to give it a more blended look. If you'd like to see my coloring technique, check out my YouTube video link at the end of this post.
The designer papers that I'm using are from an older DCWV collection called Chateau Lavender. I also inked around the edges of my watercolor paper using my distress oxide ink on the edge of a strip of torn paper. I printed my sentiment on vellum and trimmed along the top, so as not to cover up so much of my project. I scored the edges of my vellum, tucking them behind my watercolor paper and adhering with an adhesive runner.
I also have a coloring technique video. Check that out if you'd like to learn how to color these awesome grapes! I'll be showing you how to color with a blender pen, using mixed marker colors. Super easy and super fun! Be sure and subscribe to my YouTube channel!
