Encouragement Card for Ink Pink Hop

Hello lovelies! I'm participating in the Ink!Pink 2021 Instagram Hop with an encouragement card featuring Catherine Pooler products and a spotlight on one of the sponsors, ScrapbookPal.com! There are lots of sponsored prizes up for grabs so be sure to stop by my Instagram page for all the hop info. But first, scroll down for some creative details and a brief story of how breast cancer has touched our family.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

First, let me thank ScrapbookPal.com for being an amazing sponsor of this hop. I purchased several Catherine Pooler stamp sets from their site and am super happy with how quickly my package arrived. Plus, shipping rates are super reasonable which is a must for me! If you would like to add some of the products that I used to your own stash, I've provided convenient affiliate links at the end of this post for your shopping pleasure. I'm pretty awesome that way. :)

This card is closer to a mini slimline card at just under 6x4 inches. My card panel base was created using patterned paper from the Catherine Pooler Daily Grind paper pack. I topped it with a trimmed card panel stamped with my sentiment from the Let It Shine stamp set, breaking up my sentiment by doing some masking and adding the dot dot dot!  I stamped my rainbow on watercolor paper and grabbed some ink from the CP Do-Si-Do ink pad pressed onto a craft mat, using my waterbrush. My rainbow was fussy cut so I could adhere it directly onto my panel, then popped up the clouds on foam tape. My clouds were blended with the same pink ink, which actually has more of a coral tint to it. I would recommend you stamp the cloud first by blotting your inked stamp on scrap paper, then re-stamping on white cardstock without re-inking to get a faded image outline for fussy cutting. Next, I ink blended the clouds with the same pink ink and my CP blender brushes which I failed to link below.  The raindrops are from the CP Pitter Patterns stamp set and you can do so much with them!

By the way, I LOVE the smaller heads on the blender brushes. They are awesome and blend so great! I almost forgot to mention that I did some doodling on my card panel. I thought it added an extra fun element to the geometric feel of this card.

We are so grateful to all of our sponsors for offering up some super great prizes! I hope you will be sure and send them some love throughout the hop.

Now, a brief bit about our family's story. My mom was the first person in our family diagnosed with breast cancer. It was caught very early and she had a mastectomy but no chemo or radiation. She was diagnosed in her early 60's and survived. A few years later, my younger sister was diagnosed. She had a growing lump that she ignored for 7 years. Yes, 7! I constantly urged her to get a mammogram but she continued to put it off. Finally, she determined to go and it was cancer. A very rare type of cancer that is aggressive. She also had a mastectomy and a year of chemo and radiation. She is now many years out and still cancer free for which we are so thankful. It could have totally gone another way if she had waited much longer.  Please, don't put this off! Get regular mammograms, it could save your life!

If you've gotten this far, bless you. I know I've thrown a lot of information at you today but it's a cause that's near and dear to my heart. Thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate each one of you so much! Terri
