Blog Hop with Graciellie Designs & Paper Temptress + Announcement!

Welcome to the Graciellie Design and Paper Temptress Blog Hop!  If you arrived here from Regina's blog, you are in the right place.  This also serves as my formal announcement that I've joined the Graciellie Design Team this term.  I'm looking forward to showcasing Gracie's amazing digital stamps and svg files!

You're also being introduced to the new August release, in addition to a new design team.  I'm featuring the Magical Wishes digital stamps today, along with the Magnolia Dreams svg border, digital papers and coordinating specialty paper pack from Paper Temptress.

Want to know more about my card?  Scroll down for details.....  (Don't forget to comment on my post to be entered for the prizes!)

Here's the details on my 5"x 5" card -  I printed several of the digi papers from the new Magnolia Dreams digital paper pack in 4" x 4" dimensions and layered with the specialty papers from Paper Temptress, including the Teal Basis 80#.  I also used the teal paper to cut my svg border with my Cricut Explore and let me tell you....it cut like a dream!  I was super happy that there was not one single tear and I'm proud to say that the Paper Temptress paper is excellent quality.  You will not be disappointed.  My pretty digital paper was printed on the white pearl linen 84#, as was my fairy.  More about my fairy in a moment.

Along with the lovely specialty papers from Paper Temptress, some very pretty ribbons are included in the specialty pack.  I used a strip of Pink Ice Parchment paper under my SVG border then added one of the pretty pink ribbons on top.  Next, I wanted to use the gold threaded ribbon in a unique way, so I trimmed one edge of the ribbon and harvested gold threads to use behind the wings of my fairy.  It's so pretty and adds some extra sparkle!

To color my fairy, I used a mix of Zig Clean Color brushes and Tombow dual brush markers, along with a water brush.  Because these are water based markers, it's important to have a paper towel ready to blot and be careful not to blend too closely to the printed fairy digi stamp.  I did blow dry my paper after printing, to make sure ink was completely dry.  I was going for an artsy watercolor effect and I think I achieved that.  Using water based products, however, can take away some of the tiny printed details, so keep that in mind.  I think she is so pretty, don't you?  Additional embellishments include adding Bo Bunny glitter paste to my border and quilled flowers.  I would love to say I quilled those beauties myself, however they were a gift from my very crafty friend MariLynn DeGroot.  Thanks, ML!  There are so many wonderful new sentiments included with the Magical Wishes digital stamp set.  I chose the Fairy Godmother quote, printed with my specialty papers and cut with stitched circular dies that were then cut in half and propped above the edge of my border.  I hope you're inspired with these amazing products; I had such fun creating with them.
