Prayers For Australia

With all the raging fires burning in Australia, and many Americans feeling so helpless, Scrapbook.com has created a digital file fundraiser.  100% of the funds raised will go directly to the Australian Red Cross to assist in their efforts.  If you too are feeling helpless, you can purchase this set for yourself or a crafty friend for use in your paper crafting.  There is even a file that was created specifically for t-shirts. I hope you will read this to the end, as I have more crafty information that I want to share with you.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links.  This does not affect your purchase price.)

The cost of this set is only $5.00 and contains 15 images that can be used for many other occasions as well.  Not only will you receive svg and png files that can be used with your electric die cut machines, such as Cricut Explore, Silhouette, etc, but the png files can also be used as digital stamps in Microsoft Word.  That is what I've done today, using a just a couple of the png images, and altering them to fit the dimensions that I needed for this card.  You can make the images as big or as small as you like.

Once I created my images in Microsoft Word, I saved my file in case I want to make extra's later.  Then, I printed my image on Neenah cardstock and trimmed the cardstock down to size, for this layered card.  I did a little ink blending and droplet splatters from a distress spray bottle to finish this off.

Here's a tip: unscrew your distress spray bottle and gently tap the droplets from the end of the mister tubing to get the splatters.

I am so humbled and honored to create this card sample for Scrapbook.com.  As an affiliate, when you purchase anything through the affiliate links that I provide, I typically make a small commission, less than 25 cents when you click on any of my links.  I will not receive a commission on this digital file collection because it is a fundraiser.  We all want the AU Red Cross to receive as much as possible from this fundraiser!

Let me also mention that as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, it helps me so much when you click any of my links that I share here on my blog, and when you see me share them on social media.  There is no cost to you when you do this and it allows me to give back to this amazing community by offering up fun giveaways on my social media from time to time.  This is not a big money maker for me!  I do this because I love it, it's fun and I make so many amazing crafty friends along the way.  Thank you for your support!  Feel free to click away!

Thanks so much for popping in and letting me share several bits of information with you today.  If you would like to go a step further and share this blog post on your Facebook page and help spread the word, that would be awesome!  We need everyone to know about this and there are so many crafty file cutting lovers out there.

If you purchase this set, I would love to see what you make.  Feel free to share with me over on my Facebook page at Waving My Wand! God bless and stay crafty, friends!  Terri

Quick and Easy Cheater Card with Free Cut Files

The week long celebration of World Card Making Day is still going strong at Scrapbook.com.  I'm sharing another card featuring the exclusive brand new cut files available in the shop.  There are so many images in the Floral Sampler digi set that you are going to love!  Add it to your cart now, while the set is still free.

There's only a few days left to get these amazing digital svg and png files for free!

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links.  This does not affect your purchase price.)

Scrapbook.com - Digital Cut File - Floral Sampler Pack for Cards and More

Let me tell you why I call this a cheater card.  This card took less than 10 minutes to make.  Once I cut my floral card front with my Cricut, along with the included scored A2 sized card cut file, it was a matter of finding a great piece of patterned paper for the backing.  In this case, papers from the Paper House Production Marbleous collection.  Yup, I cheated.

Sure, you can make your own amazing backgrounds with alcohol inks or marbling mediums.  However, I want to show you how fast you can throw a card together.  Cut the file, adhere the gorgeous paper, then adhere to your scored card.  Done and done.  It doesn't get any easier than that.  Plus, this is great for when you need to make a bundle of cards in a hurry.  You can always adhere a little bling if you like.  I dotted on some Nuvo glitter drops where you see the small circles and on the dotted "i".  Oh, and I did use some circle punches and trimmed to fit on top of my flower centers.

You'll find links to the products that I used below.  Don't forget, the sale on cardmaking supplies and exclusive Scrapbookcom brands, are up to 50% off.

Plus, eight amazing brands are on sale.

Today is also the last day to grab the exclusive Hero Arts Bear-y Much stamp set for free.

I hope you're able to find creative time for World Card Making Day on October 5th.  Have a great weekend!  Terri

Graciellie Design Blog Hop featuring Thermoweb

Welcome to the Graciellie Design blog hop!  This month we are so excited to be collaborating with Therm O Web  and featuring their amazing products, including the New Gina K Designs Winter 2017 Collection.  Of course, we are merrily still playing with the new holiday collections from Graciellie Design as well, for the perfect pairing.

(Please note, I've created convenient affiliate links throughout this post, where applicable, for your shopping convenience.)

For my project today, I'm using the Therm O Web Holiday Cheer Foil Mates Sentiments, the Ornamental Holiday Background Foil Mates and the Fancy Foils in Radiant Red and Glittering Green.

For my sentiment, I wanted to do some partial foiling and leave the pre-inked black wording   I'm always up for a challenge and it was a little tricky to cut little sections of red and green foil, and avoid any of it getting on the black wording.  If you're not familiar with how the toner/foiling works, these images are printed with toner ink.  When laying down the foil and running through a heat laminator, the foil adheres to the toner.  It's magic!  There is a process involved and I went straight to a Gina K Designs video to see the process and sandwich technique for foiling with a heat laminator.  You can check that out here:  Thermoweb/Gina K Design Holiday Foil Mates Video
(You'll spot the sandwich technique around the 8 min, 50 second mark)

To make it easier, I foiled the red first, then ran it back through and foiled the green.  I love the look!

Of course, I'm also working with Gracie's lovely Christmas Poinsettia digital stamps.   I had already been playing around with this poinsettia, printing two images and watercoloring with my Tombows and a waterbrush, in the style of no-line coloring.  The bottom layer is colored lighter for added dimension and Therm O Web Mounting Squares add an extra layer of depth by popping up the top image, which was also splattered with white acrylic paint.  I love how all the accents compliment one another to create this festive card!

Since I have that big pop of red with the poinsettia, I decided to foil my background with the Glittering Green foils on the Ornamental Holiday background, and foiling the striped background with Radiant Red foil, as well, trimming a section to use as a border.  Don't forget your Therm O Web adhesive runners!  I used the sticky strip runner to tack down my backgrounds.  It gets the job done!

I love, love, love how this card turned out!  I'm new to foiling as well so if I can do it, you can do it!  By the way, all of Gracie's designers are also featuring her new holiday digi stamps and paper release.  You an also find some of Gracie's new holiday stamps available in red rubber, over at Unity Stamps which include Winter Blessings and Cheery Christmas, perfect for the crafter who likes to work with hand stamping.

Gracie has also just introduced a brand new SVG Winter Word Bundle and you can check that out via my links at the bottom of this post.   It's on sale at 50% off for a limited time,  no code needed.   Perfect for users of Cricut,  Silhouette and other die cutting machines!

Thanks so much to Therm O Web for sharing these amazing products with us today!  I'm your last stop on the hop, so be sure and comment on all the blogs to be entered to win a $20 gc to Gracie's shop.  If you get lost along the way, head back to Gracie's blog.

Blog Hop with Graciellie Designs & Paper Temptress + Announcement!

Welcome to the Graciellie Design and Paper Temptress Blog Hop!  If you arrived here from Regina's blog, you are in the right place.  This also serves as my formal announcement that I've joined the Graciellie Design Team this term.  I'm looking forward to showcasing Gracie's amazing digital stamps and svg files!

You're also being introduced to the new August release, in addition to a new design team.  I'm featuring the Magical Wishes digital stamps today, along with the Magnolia Dreams svg border, digital papers and coordinating specialty paper pack from Paper Temptress.

Want to know more about my card?  Scroll down for details.....  (Don't forget to comment on my post to be entered for the prizes!)

Here's the details on my 5"x 5" card -  I printed several of the digi papers from the new Magnolia Dreams digital paper pack in 4" x 4" dimensions and layered with the specialty papers from Paper Temptress, including the Teal Basis 80#.  I also used the teal paper to cut my svg border with my Cricut Explore and let me tell you....it cut like a dream!  I was super happy that there was not one single tear and I'm proud to say that the Paper Temptress paper is excellent quality.  You will not be disappointed.  My pretty digital paper was printed on the white pearl linen 84#, as was my fairy.  More about my fairy in a moment.

Along with the lovely specialty papers from Paper Temptress, some very pretty ribbons are included in the specialty pack.  I used a strip of Pink Ice Parchment paper under my SVG border then added one of the pretty pink ribbons on top.  Next, I wanted to use the gold threaded ribbon in a unique way, so I trimmed one edge of the ribbon and harvested gold threads to use behind the wings of my fairy.  It's so pretty and adds some extra sparkle!

To color my fairy, I used a mix of Zig Clean Color brushes and Tombow dual brush markers, along with a water brush.  Because these are water based markers, it's important to have a paper towel ready to blot and be careful not to blend too closely to the printed fairy digi stamp.  I did blow dry my paper after printing, to make sure ink was completely dry.  I was going for an artsy watercolor effect and I think I achieved that.  Using water based products, however, can take away some of the tiny printed details, so keep that in mind.  I think she is so pretty, don't you?  Additional embellishments include adding Bo Bunny glitter paste to my border and quilled flowers.  I would love to say I quilled those beauties myself, however they were a gift from my very crafty friend MariLynn DeGroot.  Thanks, ML!  There are so many wonderful new sentiments included with the Magical Wishes digital stamp set.  I chose the Fairy Godmother quote, printed with my specialty papers and cut with stitched circular dies that were then cut in half and propped above the edge of my border.  I hope you're inspired with these amazing products; I had such fun creating with them.
