Succulents Card for Spellbinders Simon Hurley Release

Hey friends. Today's card is for Spellbinders and the new release collaboration with Simon Hurley and Ranger Ink that is hot off the presses! I'm featuring the Succulents stamp and die set which is just one of the collections being offered in this release that went live today. Scroll down for some brief, creative details. You'll also find product links at the end of this post.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

When I received the Succulents stamp set, I knew I wanted to use Copic Markers for my coloring medium. You can see those color choices below. I also tested out my colors to see how they would blend before I began.

After I finished coloring, I wanted to embellish my cactus (see photo above) by dotting all those spiny points with my white gel pen.

For the other plant, I added just a smidge of white gel pen after coloring, then swiped it with my finger to get that lovely highlight. What's that plant called? I have no idea. I'm horrible with plant names, haha. But I do love coloring them!

I also used the Spellbinders 3D Tile Reflections embossing folder with my Platinum 6 for the background panel and for the center diamond trio die cuts. Have you ever dipped your finger in white pigment ink? Try it. I rubbed a little on the green embossing. It's a quick and easy way to highlight embossing on colored cardstock.

There's a really nice variety of sentiments with the Simon Hurley Succulents stamp set. I used that inspirational sentiment below and plan to brighten someone's day soon with this card. The accompanying die set also includes a really nice word die (HUGS) that also has a background outline.

You can click any of the affiliate links that I've provided below and go directly to the product. I hope you'll stop by Spellbinders to see all the other new offerings in this release.  I love this set so much and of course, am a huge fan of Simon Hurley and Ranger Ink. You can view all of Simon's products at Spellbinders, here. I'll be sharing more soon so be sure and check back. Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Rainbow Card with Hot Foiling

Hello cardmakers. I absolutely adore hot foiling and when I saw that Erin Lee Creative came out with a new set of hot foil plates with one of my favorite sentiments of all time, I snatched it right up. If you're not into hot foiling, you're in luck because there's a matching stamp set as well!

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

The LOVED hot foil plate and die set includes 6 different sentiments and outline dies. These work very nicely with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System which is the tool that I used today, along with Spellbinders silver hot foil.

There's a huge sale going on right now at ELC too. The A2 Rainbow Cover Plate that I'm using today is part of that sale and is 70% off, less than $7.00 at checkout! It won't last long so hop on over and add this beauty to your cart!

A few creative tips......I embellished my clouds with Nuvo Dream Drops. It's a gorgeous irredescent color. My clouds on both corners  were also popped up with adhesive foam for a little added dimension. Also, the papers that I used today are the Craft Consortium brand. One last tip.....I used a corner rounder for the top edges of my card.

I've been in a pastel mood lately and love how this happy card turned out. It would make a lovely encouragement card but I think it would easily make a sweet baby shower card as well. What do you think? You can go so many different directions with the new LOVED release. Click on any of my affiliate links below to view more product information or to do a little shopping. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Spellbinders January Club Kit Cards

Hello friends. It's the start of a new year and I'm thrilled to begin the year creating with some of the monthly club selections from Spellbinders. I'll be creating each month with their Stitching Die of the Month products and their Quick & Easy Card Kit of the Month, both are new additions to their monthly club selections. Scroll down to view my samples and a few brief creative details.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

The Nested Stitched Burst large die set is is the first offering in the 2023 Stitching Die of the Month Club and released today. You'll receive 4 individual dies in this set. I used 3 of the dies in my photo above, and stitched with DMC variegated thread. My die cuts were made using my new Platinum 6!

The sentiment on my card pictured above was stamped using the Sentimental Greetings Clear Stamp Set which coordinates with this month's stitched die set. You can purchase this a la carte, as well. There are so many fabulous sentiments in this set, it's a must have!

Next up, are the cards I made using the Quick & Easy Card Kit which is a new and re-structured club selection for this year.

If you love ephemera, then you are going to be over the moon for this kit! There is sooo much to choose from and there are duplicates of every piece. This kit contains 200 pieces that include enough to make 8+ cards; die cut shapes, patterned paper, card panels in several colors, white cards and envelopes, adhesives, embellishments, chipboard frames and puffy stickers sentiments.

I leaned more towards a simplistic style with the products from this card kit. I love creating scenes and it's so easy to pick just a few pieces and quickly arrange a scene.

This card kit is called "Indoor Garden" and it's perfect for so many occasions. The coffee lover in me is beyond ecstatic to have some of these elements in the kit!

I'm thrilled that Spellbinders asked me to bring these kits to life. I know you will love them as much as I do. There are add-on selections available as well for this kit. The Happy Plant Etched die set coordinates with this kit and includes 9 dies that you can cut, emboss, deboss and stencil with. I used the leaves from this set above along with the patterned paper from the kit.

I love the options that this kit gives you and with your creativity, there's no limit to what you can do! Spellbinders has taken a lot of the guess work out which is so refreshing. Feel free to visit any of the affiliate links that I've provided throughout this post, or click the links below for more information or to shop. Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!

Terri

Layered Windmill Shaped Card for Spellbinders

I'm featuring a shaped card today, created with products from the Spellbinders new release "Home Sweet Quilt". If you love detailing, then this project is for you. I'll share an option for a little less detailing as well, so no worries if patience is not your thing, haha. Scroll down for a few creative details!

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

First, you'll need to fold an 8.5x11 inch piece of white cardstock in half and burnish the fold with a scoring tool. Place the outline frame just above the fold and run through your Platinum 6 die cut machine or other manual die cut machine.

Trim white cardstock for a coordinating card panel and apply an adhesive sheet to the top. After running through your die cut machine, peel off the top layer of your adhesive sheet.

Next, place your insert dies inside the frame and cut on your desired colors of cardstock or paper, depending on how many colors you want to use. I chose white, kraft, dark green and navy ( Jewel Paper Pad from Scrapbookcom).

It's best to work with one color at a time. I lightly adhered my entire white cardstock cuts to my card panel, then cut one color at a time, using the sharp point of my Tool N One to remove the white pieces that I wanted to swap with other colors. The adhesive sheet is tacky but not too tacky, so removing the pieces and replacing with other colors was a breeze.

Here's your bonus tip: If you prefer not to inlay the pieces to save time, you can simply pop out the bits and pieces and back your frame outline with colored cardstock.

Make sure you keep up with all those itty bitty pieces while you're working as they can easily get lost. I'll admit, this took a good bit of time but it was well worth it!

I created my sentiment using pieces from the Glimmering Just For You set, part of the Floral Reflections collection. I used black hot foil with my Glimmer Hot Foil system and Specialty Glimmer cardstock

The center "flower" was created by hand trimming a circle from a section of adhesive foam. Once I peeled off  the top, I applied DMC variegated floss to the top in a circular pattern, working my way from the outside in to the center. I topped it with a Buttons Galore half pearl, adhering with my hot glue gun.

The leaf stems are from the Sealed Wildflowers die set, cut on green cardstock and tucked under my adhesive foam center, after peeling the bottom layer off.

I hope this inspires you to take a little time for yourself, relax and get some detailing done. The recipient of your work will love that you put so much effort into your creation! Check out the Home Sweet Quilt collection here. You can click on any of the highlighted text to go directly to the products through my affiliate links. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stained Glass Angel Ornaments for Spellbinders

Hello cardmakers. The Home Sweet Quilt Collection by Becca Feeken is live at Spellinders and I've taken some liberties with today's project, creating some angel ornaments. I love when you can find other ways to use products, don't you? I've got some tips for putting these together below.

(FTC Disclosure: as an affiliate for various companies in the craft industry, I will receive a small commission for purchases made through my convenient affiliate links, at no additional cost to you.)

I'm creating with the Quilted Stained Glass Window die set today. To begin, I cut several outline die cuts on black cardstock, making extras to back my finished piece and hide the burlap string. I adhered adhesive sheets before cutting my outline die cuts as well.

Next, I peeled the top off my adhesive liner and applied the black stain glass die cut to my sticky outline. Make sure you pop out all the black pieces and save them for another project if you wish.

I cut 4 different colors of paper using the stain glass die and filled in my empty spaces. I found it easier to use my Spellbinder Tool N One to carefully pop out only one row of colors that I planned to use at a time, while still intact with my die after cutting.

I also used kraft paper and partially ran my stain glass die through my Platinum 6 machine to get those circle faces.

There's a stitched piece included with the Quilted Stained Glass Window die set just below the stitched banner in the photo below, a stitched flower stem. I die cut two of those and foiled one with my Spellbinders gold foil, simply by running adhesive over it and applying the foil directly. I trimmed pieces to make my angel halos and also trimmed some unfoiled pieces to make the angel "hands" which appear to be holding the banner. Total McGuyver stuff, haha. If you've never seen the old McGuyver tv series, then I'm really showing my age!

I also die cut several of the stitched banners and stamped a sentiment from the Hand Made Holidays clear stamp set. It was a stacked sentiment, so to make it work, I cut my sentiment with scissors and curved it on my Misti stamp positioner to make it fit my banner. It will still stamp properly, the next time I use this sentiment, no worries!

My angel wings were created using the stitched flower insert and outline and I cut these in two different colors. Aren't they the cutest wings? I adhered the burlap string to the back of my angel and made a double loop to hang.

I love how these sweet angels turned out and I hope you'll give this project a try. If you have any other questions, please leave them in the comment section so I can respond, or find this project on my other social media sites and leave your questions.

You'll find affiliate product links scattered throughout this post. If you wish to do any shopping, I appreciate you using these links. There's no additional cost for you to do so. Thanks so much for stopping by!
