Guest Designer - Coming Soon to Catherine Pooler

Hello friends! This month I'm guest designing for Catherine Pooler Designs and I couldn't be more thrilled. The Snow-rific release drops on Oct. 12th and is full of fun, winter elements as well as the birthday bundle that I'm creating with today.  Scroll down for creative details on this card. To create my striped background for my A2 card, I masked off about 1/4 -1/2 inch edge from my white card panel and stamped using the Wonky Stripes background stamp with my Misti stamp positioner. This stamp is HUGE and can be used in so many different ways.

I thought I would be clever and add some black lines to my stripes, but I just wan't feeling it. You know how that is, right? I wasn't sure I liked the black lines but I couldn't just couldn't bring myself to discard it so instead, I used the star dies from the Party Tag die set that's included in the new release to make some star embellishments to add to my card. Problem solved! I think they're so pretty too. I also die cut some stars with patterned paper from the Happy Mama paper pack since the colors worked for my project.

My cupcake was created using the Extra Frosting stamp and die set and I popped up a dimensional sentiment with the Party tag die and a quote from the Everybody Say Happy Sentiments stamp set. A little masking with tape on the word "extra" was used to ink my colored word. 

The inks used were: 

Cupcake (Macchiato, Cranberry Fizz, Sand Castle, Oh Boy)

Stripes (Serenade, Oh Boy, Catching Rays, Pucker Up)

Sentiment (Midnight, Oh Boy, Serenadee)

Birthday Cupcakes for Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps

It's time for another project for Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps!  Today, I'm featuring the free stamp of the month which is the Birthday Friendship sentiment (free with purchase), along with the Cupcake with Strawberry stamp; one of my go-to stamps for birthday cards.

First, a few dimensions for my A2 sized card.  I wanted to create a party table top for my cupcakes to sit on, so I basically cut an angled piece of kraft cardstock.  You can see the measurements below.  I then trimmed the polka dot paper to layer in size accordingly.

 

For the coloring of my cupcakes, I used my Marvy Le Plume II brush markers, swiping them on a craft mat and grabbing the color with a water brush.  A white gel pen helps accent the seeds on my strawberries.   If you notice, some of my cupcakes don't have a candle.  Simply mask that part of your stamp with tape, ink your stamp, then remove the tape and stamp onto cardstock.  Easy peasy!  Using my Misti stamp positioner makes it super easy to get good results every time.

I even carried my elements to the inside of my card for added sugar and sweetness!  By the way, I topped my frosting with clear glue and extra fine sparkly glitter.

Trick or treat the office! Or friends...

So I put together this cute basket for my coworkers to stop by my office. 

The '' trick '' is the mini jars of cupcake sprinkles.   These came as a 4-pack from Targets dollar spot.   Actually,  it's the trick that becomes a treat.   *grin
