Hello lovelies. Today, I'm sharing a card from a stamp set that has been in my stash for a few months and needed some love. We've been having dreary weather in our neck of the woods, but I'm feeling all the colors today. I'm playing with the Paper Smooches Caffeinated stamp set. Scroll down for a few creative details.

To make my yummy cup, I heated embossed the cup and straw image on vellum with clear embossing powder. Next, I traced a section of watercolor paper to fit behind the cup, pressed my Ranger Distress Oxide Ink onto a craft mat, then spritzed with water. The fun part is next....smooshing! Just smoosh and dredge your paper into the inky mixture. Heat dry, then sprinkle water drops and blot with a paper towel. Do this as many times as you like to get the color you want. For me, I wanted a darker shade towards the bottom of my beverage.
Speaking of beverages, what is your favorite caffeinated cold drink? I love the Lavender drink from Starbucks. Oh my, it is so yummy. I'm not much of a soda drinker but I do love an ice cold glass of sweet tea too.
Here's a few more tips on this colored cup. I colored my straw on the back side of the vellum, using my water brush with more Worn Lipstick ink, and a white gel pen. To adhere my pink watercolor inked paper to the vellum, I traced and applied a piece of adhesive sheet to the inked side of my pink splattered paper, then stuck it face up on the back side of my vellum. Then I traced and applied another piece of adhesive sheet to the entire back side of my cup and straw, peeled off the liner and placed it on my card. I didn't want to use an adhesive runner, as the adhesive can sometimes goop up in places and I didn't want that to show through. The adhesive sheets are the perfect solution!

I also love, love, love colorful plaid papers. I found this Photo Play Paper on the Scrapbook.com website and had to have it. It's super sturdy and cuts like a dream! I'm definitely going back for more. Once I find a paper that I love, I stock up before it's gone for good! And, you can't beat the price!
Lastly, I trimmed a piece of pink glitter tape on the edge of my card, die cut my paper to frame my cup using Lawn Fawn dies (all product links are listed at the end of this post) and sprinkled on lots and lots of sequins from Buttons Galore. To apply all those sequins, I use my Nuvo Morning Dew drops. I also popped up my sentiment with foam adhesive for added dimension. I think this makes a nifty Valentine's Day card too!
