I'm thrilled to share this watercolor card for you today, created for my lovely friends at Altenew. Have you ever had a plan in your mind for a card but it just didn't work out? I think that happens to many of us from time to time. I ended up switching gears and this is the result!

Plan 1 wasn't working out so I jumped to plan 2, watercoloring an entire panel with just two of my Altenew pan paint colors, filling in color randomly. After my panel was dry, I ran it through my Platinum 6 using the 3D Cloudy Day embossing folder. I tried to emboss my watercolor panel before coloring however, the wet watercolors seemed to flatten out the embossing a bit. It worked much better to emboss after allowing the watercolor painted panel to dry.
Next, I poured a touch of Ranger acrylic white paint onto a craft mat, grabbed some cotton balls and used it to gently blend over the embossed edges of my clouds, also blending out a bit in a circular motion.
I think this card turned out so much better than I could have ever hoped. It's truly easy to re-create too! I chose the Kind Words stamp set from Altenew specifically to use with my embossing folder. That Martin Luther King Jr. quote fit perfectly for my scene.
