Christmas Card With Exclusive Scrapbookcom Products & Hero Arts

Hey friends.  Today, I've got a Christmas card with a distress oxide background, copic coloring and new, premium clear embossing ink from Scrapbook.com.  I'm featuring the Hero Arts Meowy Christmas stamp set, as well.  Stick around while I share a few creative tips!

I adore this new embossing ink!  I used it to heat emboss the Christmas Tree in gold embossing powder.  To my pleasant surprise, there was no need to tap off any excess powder and it gave such a smooth finish.  It made heat embossing a breeze, and no worries about having to toss my image as there was no stray powder of blemishes.  At all!

I'll have product links at the end of this post.  If you wish to add the clear ink pad to your cart, toss in the reinker because you're going to love it too.  Just a few drops will refreshen your ink pad.  Spread it with a palette knife and you are good to go!

Although you can get the Hero Arts dies to coordinate with the stamp set, I cut my embossed and colored images with my Brother Scan N Cut.  To pop up and give dimension on my card, I trimmed the Scrapbookcom small double sided adhesive foam squares in half, so they would fit on the back of my tree.  Genius, right?

For my oxide background, I blended the ink using my Scrapbook.com Domed Blender tools.  I also used a neat trick, spritzing the back of a stencil and placing it on the inked cardstock.  If you'd like to see the tips that I shared on Instagram, hop over for a 1 minute clip, here.

I stamped all my images (except the tree) with the exclusive Scrapbook.com hybrid ink in Leather.  I also used it to stencil onto one of the chairs, using a TCW stencil that looks like a fish net.  I tapped on some "buttons" with a brown copic marker.  I also added Nuvo glitter dots to my tree and fashioned a satin ribbon drape for the base of my tree.  The stars on my background were also heat embossed.

Last Minute Gift Tags

Here we are on Christmas Eve and I've got some last minute gift tags, for Paper House Productions.

I'm one of those who refuses to go out and buy gift tags, when I can easily make them quickly myself.  Besides, handmade is more special, right?  Today, I'm using scrapbook papers from the Christmas Joy Craft Set, along with other Paper House holiday elements.  Scroll down for more.

I'll be honest.  These tags happened, quite by accident.  I chose the red/white striped paper included in the kit.  It's double side and features some really gorgeous cut out images on the flip side.  Well, when I die cut my red/white paper with my nesting tag dies and flipped it over, look what happened..... practically perfect tags that were better than I could have dreamed!

There's the little edged, sectioned circles that were perfect for adding a stamped "to" and "from".  Next, add some gold foiled accents from the Christmas Magic Cardstock Stickers included in the kit.  

Layer your gold accented cardstock stickers with a strip of Christmas Joy Washi Tape to finish off your tag.

For Dad featuring The Hedgehog Hollow June Kit
