Juicy Fruit Cards for Spellbinders

I have a pair of cards for you today for Spellbinders that simply make my heart sing. I love pairing black and white stamping with focal colors. The Sketched Citrus peel apart background stamp from Simon Hurley and Ranger Ink are perfect for this! I was totally inspired and love the sketchy look of those stamps. To begin, I stamped a couple A2 sized white card panels with the Sketchy Citrus stamps, then trimmed both card panels at an angle. I'm only using the bottom portion of my trims and will save the tops for another day.

I also ran a pair of A2 sized colored cardstock through my Platinum 6 using the 3D embossing folder, Circle Illusion. It's important that both the stamped card panels and the embossed card panels are the same size, for this project since we'll be laying the angled stamped cardstock on top of the embossed panels. 

Also, the lime colored card panel was from one of my Spellbinders card kits so I'm not sure of the color. I did find Peridot on the Spellbinders site which is close in color and linked it in my supply list. I thought these colors best complimented my colored fruit.

Next, I stamped and colored up some of the pull apart stamps from the Sketched Citrus stamp set. Yes, these pull apart! I think it's so clever that Simon does this with a lot of his stamp designs. It gives you so much versatility.

I broke out my Copic markers to color up these juicy oranges. They could be peaches too, it's totally open to interpretation. When finished, I used the coordinating dies to cut out 4 of the oranges and four of the leafy stems.

My sentiments are from the Simon Hurley/Ranger Ink Watercolor Flowers stamp and die set that was released at the same time. I stamped and die cut the "Hello" and Thank You" words, but hand trimmed the word "friend".

Most of my images and sentiments are popped up on adhesive foam, for added dimension. I did tuck one of the leafy stems behind my angled stamped cardstock, adhering it directly onto my embossed cardstock.

I thought about adding some sequins as added embellishment but honestly, I really don't think it's needed. Sometimes less is more!

I'm so happy that my lovely friends at Spellbinders sent this to me, as it has really sparked my desire to get on the fruit bandwagon, so to speak, haha. I hope you'll give these techniques a try. I know you will love this stamp set as much as I do.

Five Cards Featuring New Solar Paste from Simon Hurley

Hello lovelies! Scrapbook.com was kind enough to send me the brand new Solar Paste from Simon Hurley and Ranger Ink, just released today! I quickly fell in love with this fluffy paste that changes color! It dries with a metallic sheen that is so gorgeous too. I have 5 cards to share with you. For my  cards above, I used the Solar Paste in Golden Hour, Overheated and Cross My Heart with the Simon Hurley Stained Glass stencil, adding a bit of each paste across my craft scraper for three tone colors on one card. My opposing card uses the leftovers from my scraper, blended with SH dye reinker Rosy Cheeks. The sentiments are from the SH Succulents stamp set and were heat embossed.

I also embellished with my Pops of Color in Summer Peach and Princess Pink.

All of the background papers are from exclusive paper pads from Scrapbook.com. Above, I used the gray papers in the Playful paper pad.

My card below uses papers from the Cools paper pad and my last card at the end of this post is backed by the black paper in the Playful paper pad.

It's hard to tell because of the angle but one of the cards above features two tone colors of Solar Paste. My first card uses the Royal Flush Solar Paste, mixed with SH dye reinker Remember Me. You can totally mix reinkers and get even more intense or different colors to suit your needs! For the opposing card, I scraped the remaining mixture then added some of the Beluga Solar paste on my scraper for two tone scraping over my stencil. You can see the mix better in my video.

Really, I'm experimenting with all the colors, just to see what I can do. I didn't have any idea of how my stenciling would turn out. The fun is in the creative process!

My sentiments above are rub-on transfers from Scrapbook.com, I fussy cut them then backed them with light purple cardstock, also fussy cut. My embellishment in t he center is glitter Princess Pink Pops of Color.

For my ocean floor scene above I used the Crocodile Tears and Beluga Solar paste on the SH Nothing But Net stencil over black cardstock. This stencil is currently not in stock at Scrapbook.com You'll see in the video that I swiped my craft scraper with one color over half the stencil, then the other color below on a diagonal angle for a two tone effect.

My stamped plants and sentiment are from the SH Succulents stamp set and I did some heat embossing on the sentiment. I tucked in some torn strips of cheesecloth behind my sentiment and also embellishd with some Pops of Color in Olive.
