Floral Butterfly Card for Word Art Wednesday Guest Design

Hello friends.  Today, I'm guest designing again for the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog.  I'm using a digital image from one of today's sponsors, Imagine That Digi Stamps, featuring the Queen Anne's Lace digital stamp.  It includes 9 sentiments with the set, however, I chose to pair my colored image with the free printable scripture this week, offered up by Word Art Wednesday.

This scripture is so timely and it brought to mind a close relative dealing with breast cancer.  Cancer doesn't discriminate and neither does our loving Father God.  Even though sin is in this world, God is still molding us and guiding the way in our lives.  Despite sickness and the evils of this world, we are in His hands.  We may not understand why we go through the troubled times in our lives but for those who trust in Christ, we have the assurance that He is always with us.

For the creative details on my card, I printed both images onto mixed media paper, so I could add colored water splatters later.  It's hard to achieve splatters on regular cardstock, as it will typically bleed.  I always let my splatters dry naturally as I like the effect.

I used a variety of Zig Real Clean Color brush markers to color, using a water brush at times and mixing colors.  I also embellished my flowers, leaves and butterfly with gel pens.  My papers are from American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection, ribbons from May Arts Ribbon and buttons and pearls from the Macaron Bottle Embellishments from Buttons Galore and 28 Lilac Lane.  All my adhesives are from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  You'll find links to the products below from Scrapbook.com.

(Please note, I've challenged myself to use up some of my older scrapbook paper collections.  The paper I've used today is from the American Crafts Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic line and is no longer available.  However, there is a very similar paper with the exact colors that I've used in the Lovely Day collection in the product links below.)

Lastly, I decided to make a coordinating envelope with my We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board.

Guest Design Word Art Wednesday Father's Day

I'm thrilled to be guest designing today for Word Art Wednesday.  I've been a fan of this challenge blog for several years and a participant on many occasions.  I'm all about the mission and encouraging message that Word Art Wednesday stands for, as well.  Each week they offer up a new digital scripture that you can print out and use for your own crafting.  It's not required to participate in the challenges but isn't a wonderful thing?  I think so.  Thank you Karen, for asking me to be the guest designer for June!

Today's scripture is from Psalm 1:1 and is so timely, with Father's Day just around the corner.  This verse reminds me so much of my stepdad.  He is one of the Godliest men that I know.  So what does this verse mean?  In a nutshell, my interpretation is, the man who is following Christ and his teachings, walking the walk and talking the talk, will be blessed.  This man is not listening to or being influenced by those who talk, walk or act or speak in a manner not fitting a Christian.  He has friends watching him who are not Christ followers.  What does that mean?  It means, he doesn't want to ruin his testimony by causing someone else to stumble or fall.  In other words, he's upright and a man of integrity and others will know this by his actions.

Of course, as a cardmaker and participant in this card challenge site, I would be remiss if I didn't share some pertinent details about my card.  I've had this collection in my stash for some time and it needed a little more love, so I pulled out "Hey Mister" from My Mind's Eye.  I am also an affiliate for scrapbook.com so I always share affiliate links throughout my posts.  That way, if you see something you like, you don't have to hunt it down on the webosphere!

This masculine themed collection fit so well with today's scripture.  It's always a bonus when everything comes together on a project.  I'm using diecuts, paper, puffy stickers (out of stock) and more for my A2 sized card.  You'll find links to most of  the products below.   All my adhesives are from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  I've also done a bit of gold foiling on one of the diecut flags.  The word stickers are from Tim Holtz Big Chat stickers.
