Christmas Stocking Paper Pockets

This past week, I was trying to come up with something creative that I could use to fill with treats, and pass out to my co-workers.  I work with a fun bunch and on any given day during the holidays, I'm liable to find a little treat that someone snuck onto my desk when I wasn't looking.

So, while pondering and drawing in my craft room recently, I drew a little slipper sock for another project and decided to turn it into a png file.  The great thing about png images, is if you're savvy with loading images to your electonic die cutting machine, you can then enlarge and edit the image.  If I wanted to, I could turn this into a folded shaped card, however, today, I've enlarged and cut out a bunch of these little stockings and turned them into treat pockets, using my Cricut Explore.

This is the image I drew, below.  I then photographed the image and edited it with Pic Monkey software on my desktop, filling it in so it would  be easier to cut.  Next, I uploaded the image to my Cricut Explore and the rest is history.  I did cut some of the stockings in reverse also, so the cardstock would be double-sided.  I've used some of my favorite products to create these little stockings, including DCWV paper, Xyron Adhesive, May Arts Ribbon from their online retail store, The Ribbon Resource, Unity Stamps, Spellbinders..... product details and shopping links are at the end of my post.

If you'd like to save this png file for yourself, I'm giving this to you free.  Just place your cursor over the image, right click and save to your computer.  If you'd like to credit Waving My Wand when you use it, that would be lovely.

Notice the little topper on the stocking?  I just used some extra cardstock and a corner rounder punch  to make it look more like a Christmas stocking.  Originally, I used this image as a slipper footie sock on another project.

Thanks for stopping by and if you decide to create something with this png, I'd love for you to share it with me on any of my social media links below.  Thanks and Merry Christmas!
