Week 2 Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

Welcome to the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge! It's week 2 of the brand new challenge!

Welcome to challenge #44 at DoubleClick!!

Dates: March 16 - March 29, 2016

Challenge: Use a bunny, basket or egg

Are you ready for Easter?  Hopefully this cute little mini card will get you in the mood.  We are so ready for warmer weather!  This little mini came together quickly which is always a good thing.  I'm featuring the Sunshine Yellow Skittles and Lettuce Skittles on my project today.

I made a little nest for my chick too.  It's so easy to do, just wrap string around 3 or 4 fingers several times.  Pull both ends of your string around one side of your nest and tie a small knot.  Trim ends.

A little washi tape is another great way of adding color to your project, with ease.  I try to match my tape with my Skittles for that extra pop.

Have you checked out all the Skittle Color choices? You can view them all HERE!

A 3 pack is typically under $4.00 (75 skittles) and this includes FREE USA SHIPPING, plus, Paypal is accepted.  You're supporting small business and products made in the USA, when you purchase Skittles.  Each batch is handmade, by Carri.

Don't forget, the 2015 Dual Holiday Release, Frosty Kisses and Holiday Traditions are still available.

Join the "Bunny/Basket/Egg" challenge and be entered for a fun prize that includes free Skittles, but be sure and read the rules, as backlinking is not allowed.  Skittles are not required to play so come on... link up and come and play with us!

New Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

Welcome to the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge! It's time for a brand new challenge!

Welcome to challenge #44 at DoubleClick!!

Dates: March 16 - March 29, 2016

Challenge: Use a bunny, basket or egg

For my Skittles project today, I'm featuring a sweet little bunny and using my Pink Sherbet and Frosty Kisses Skittles.  I've also done some embossing and am using up some scrap papers that coordinate with my color scheme.  It's always a plus in my book, when I can incorporate those scraps.  I hate to waste my precious paper!

I really love this happy card.  I stamped a sentiment onto my ribbon and sanded my embossed paper with a nail file for added texture and interest.  My little bunny tail was the perfect spot to place a Skittle!

Green Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

Welcome to the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge! It's week 2 of a brand new challenge!

Welcome to challenge #43 at DoubleClick!!

Dates: March 2 - March 15, 2016

Challenge: St. Patricks Day/Use something green

Today, I'm mixing it up with some stenciling, ink splatters and papers from Webster's Pages and Bazzill.  Really, it's a little bit of this and a little bit of that..... kind of like a big 'ole pot of vegetable soup!  Just keep throwing stuff in, haha.

The Skittle colors I'm using today are Meadow and I added a touch of glitter glue to the bottom for a little extra zing, placing my Skittles in the center of the clover and at the base of my stencil.  I adore my Skittles!  Even though, this is a great St. Patrick's day card, I also think it would make a very clever graduation card or even a retirement card or job promotion.  Anything that requires wishing someone good luck, know what I mean?

So Suzy Stamps February SAM Club Release

It's time for the So Suzy Stamps Stamp of the Month club February release!

Coastal is the theme for the monthly collection throughout the year, but in addition, Suzy has added this wonderful vintage stamp called "Sailor's Desk".  Isn't it fabulous?  I love anything vintage so I couldn't wait to ink it up.

As luck would have it, this stamp paired perfectly with my papers of choice, Graphic 45's Come Away With Me collection.  You can grab that in Suzy's shop as well.  I used my TH Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy to ink up my stamp, and fussy cut some images from the paper collection to pop out on this display piece.  Lots of May Arts Ribbon and DoubleClick Skittles as well, also found in Suzy's shop.  She carries a TON of supplies for one-stop shopping.  Isn't that awesome?

So check out the blog and maybe do some shopping while you're at it.   Then take a look at the SAM club.  Exclusive membership gets you special stamps each month, plus membership into a private Facebook group, fun giveaways and more!

DoubleClick Skittles Challenge Week 2

Welcome to Week 2 of the newest challenge at DoubleClick Skittles!

Challenge #30 - Use a Flower, Tree or Plant

Jan 6 - Jan 19

I was perusing through my assortment of papers and spied a couple sheets from the Graphic 45 "Once Upon a Springtime collection".   They're so pretty and I knew they would pair nicely with my DoubleClick Skittles for the Flower challenge.  Today, I'm featuring the Pebbles Skittles.

I love the Pebble Skittles because they have a very light tinge of gray....like a pebble!  Because they're clean and a neutral color they go with just about everything.  I used them on these fussy cut flowers that are propped up on foam squares.

I added lots of glitter to my project too, so that everything would sparkle and shine, right along with my Skittles.  Aren't these fairy wings pretty?

Here's another view of my Skittles/Floral focus.

Carri has revamped her site to make it easier to check out with Paypal.  Have you purchased the new end of year 2015 release yet?

Christmas Stocking Paper Pockets

(FTC disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links so, if you purchase a product using the link I may receive a small commission. I only participate in affiliate programs that feature products that I use and love. Your purchase price is not affected in any way, by using my links.)
This past week, I was trying to come up with something creative that I could use to fill with treats, and pass out to my co-workers.  I work with a fun bunch and on any given day during the holidays, I'm liable to find a little treat that someone snuck onto my desk when I wasn't looking.

So, while pondering and drawing in my craft room recently, I drew a little slipper sock for another project and decided to turn it into a png file.  The great thing about png images, is if you're savvy with loading images to your electonic die cutting machine, you can then enlarge and edit the image.  If I wanted to, I could turn this into a folded shaped card, however, today, I've enlarged and cut out a bunch of these little stockings and turned them into treat pockets, using my Cricut Explore.

This is the image I drew, below.  I then photographed the image and edited it with Pic Monkey software on my desktop, filling it in so it would  be easier to cut.  Next, I uploaded the image to my Cricut Explore and the rest is history.  I did cut some of the stockings in reverse also, so the cardstock would be double-sided.  I've used some of my favorite products to create these little stockings, including DCWV paper, Xyron Adhesive, May Arts Ribbon from their online retail store, The Ribbon Resource, Unity Stamps, Spellbinders..... product details and shopping links are at the end of my post.

If you'd like to save this png file for yourself, I'm giving this to you free.  Just place your cursor over the image, right click and save to your computer.  If you'd like to credit Waving My Wand when you use it, that would be lovely.

Notice the little topper on the stocking?  I just used some extra cardstock and a corner rounder punch  to make it look more like a Christmas stocking.  Originally, I used this image as a slipper footie sock on another project.

Thanks for stopping by and if you decide to create something with this png, I'd love for you to share it with me on any of my social media links below.  Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Mountain Plains Crafters Challenge with Graphic 45 + A Prize!

(FTC disclosure: This post may contain affiliate links so, if you purchase a product using the link I may receive a small commission. I only participate in affiliate programs that feature products that I use and love. Your purchase price is not affected in any way, by using my links.)
It has been waaaay too long since we had a fun challenge at MPC.  With Christmas just around the corner, it's time to have a little fun and give away a prize!

We were told to make two projects by Sheryl, who is heading up this fun event.   We needed to use a die cut and metal.

I absolutely adore the new Simply G45 program at Graphic 45.  Easy, simple projects that you can make quickly.  That is the route that I took for my card which features Graphic 45's, "Twas the Night Before Christmas" paper collection, which I've also used on my second project as well.

My crafty pal Paula, also one of the MPC DT's, gifted me with some Maya Road chipboard, so I covered the scalloped chipboard with my paper, tracing the outline and fussy cutting.  Notice those snowflakes on the paper?  Pay close attention because those will pop up in my second project too.

from: Scrapbook.com

Here's a close-up of a candy cane that I fussy cut from my G45 paper.  I fashioned and frayed a burlap centerpiece from my May Arts Ribbon Faux Burlap ribbon and added the embellished candy cane which is covered in a gold Skittle from DoubleClick Skittles.

Now, for my second project, I used my Cricut Explore and the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge, to cut this fun little treat box using the G45 Twas The Night Before Christmas paper.  This came together really quickly which is essential as we are all super busy this time of year, right?  I trimmed some G45 border from my paper and adhered it and added a gorgeous lime green polka dot bow that matched my paper.  I'll have shopping links at the bottom of this post, if you're interested in some of these items.  Bonus!

Now, I actually used my die cut and my metal on the same project.  Even better, my die cut is metal!  To make these fun Poinsettias, I used the Spellbinders Celebrations Just Because Flower dies with Spellbinders Media Mixage metal foil sheets, then punched out the G45 snowflakes with the accompanying Spellbinders circle die.  Such a pretty and fun decorative little accent to my Graphic 45 treat box!

Now, of course, there's a prize involved,  Get all the details on the MPC blog here:

Be sure and "like" our Community Facebook page here:

Thank you so much to Graphic 45 for sponsoring this event, and good luck!
Oh, and Merry Christmas!
