Summer Paradise Cards

Hey crafty cardmakers, I'm back with my last post, for scrapbookingstore.com.  I'm so happy that they invited me to create with their July Scrapbook Kit of the Month.  It has truly been a pleasure!  I've designed this cute flamingo card that features the Echo Park Paper "Summer Fun" collection, featured in this month's kit.

I've also incorporated the chipboard embellishments which are for upgraded subscribers.  Doesn't it look perfect as the sun behind my cloud?

Let me mention again, what's included in this kit.  Of course, as I mentioned above, the Echo Park Paper Summer Fun collection with 12x12 sticker elements are included in the kit.  These double sided papers offer so much versatility, which is always a bonus when creating cards.  That's right, this is a scrapbook kit but it's use is not limited to scrapbooking.  Obviously, since I'm creating cards, right?

For those of you who are scrapbookers, hopefully these samples will help you "spread your wings" and branch out with other uses for these amazing papers as well.  I hope I've given you some good ideas, at the very least!

Lastly, I made a bonus card which features mostly the Studio Calico journaling cards with some Echo Park stickers mixed in.  I even made my own watermelon slice!  Just use circle punches of varying sizes or nesting circle dies on the light green and red journaling cards, then cut in half.  There was a fabulous journaling card that resembled watermelon seeds as well, so I cut a half circle and colored it light pink with a waterbrush and water based brush marker.  Just stack your tri-layered elements to create that watermelon slice.  This would also make a great element for use on a scrapbook layout.

Remember, for customers who chose to double their stickers and embellishments, this month's kit comes with more stickers, chipboard shapes and journaling cards from American Crafts and Studio Calico.

That's it for me!  I hope you're already following me on social media but if not, the links are below.  I'm always happy to make new friends!  Pop in and say hi!  Have a great summer and stay crafty!
