Sizzix clearance sale plus one of my fave products!

I just found out that Sizzix is having a pretty big clearance sale, up to 50% off their best selling items of 2014, good through 1/15/14.  Good golly, they've got some super duper cheap dies!  I saw one for under $3.00.  Check out the Primitive hearts and the Tattered cone die.  Nice additions to your collection.


What I really want to tell you about is the Stamper's Secret Weapon. 

This is one of my favorite products.  Ever.  Are you a stamper?  Do you sometimes have problems with the edges of your mount getting inked spots on your project.  Nothing is more frustrating.  Well, this soft mat, prevents that from happening.  It "gives" a bit when stamping, and you don't have to press as hard either to get a perfect stamped image every time.  You need this in your arsenal, if you don't already have one.  It will save you a lot of heartache and wasted cardstock.  Oh, and it comes with a paper piercing tool as well.  (image above contains my personal products in photo)

Paper pierced leaves

There's a fun link up challenge going on over at Mountain Plains Crafters.  Make a leaf or autumn project and link it to the challenge for the chance to win a nice prize from Pan Pastel. 

I did a little paper piercing with my Stampers Secret Weapon by Stephanie Barnard.  I used all the items below, including products from Kaisercraft, Tombow, Unity Stamps, Um Wow Studio, Teresa Collins, Sizzix, Spellbinders Celebrations ink and FabScraps embellishments.

This is the first time I've used the Tombow mono glue.  Wow, I had no idea it dries so quick.  I love it!

Butterfly inspiration from MPC

I arrived home yesterday from my stint as the guest blogger at the Craft and Hobby Association 2014 Paper Arts Show.  I'll tell you all about it this weekend and give you some links....but first....

When I checked in with Mountain Plains Crafters, the girls decided we should all post a butterfly card tomorrow just for fun.

As I began working, I thought how cool would it be to incorporate as many products as I could from the goodies I brought back from CHA?

So here goes:  the paper is from Anna Griffin's Pretty Paper Collection.  I used the Spellbinders' Celebra'tions Many Words stamp sentiment, Pierced Squares and Golden Glow ink, the Mod Podge Woodgrain stencil and FolkArt metallic acrylic paint in Bright Gold (both are Plaid products), the Stampendous glitter embossed leaf I made in the exhibit hall, elements from Graphic 45's Raining Cats and Dogs stickers (thanks Joanna!), the Crafters Essentials hand wipes to clean my hands and stamps, The Sizzix Stampers Secret Weapon Pad by Stephanie Barnard. 

Wowza!  That's 10 different items.  In addition, I also used vintage butterflies I made with Paper Smooches dies, Lil Inkers Design tag die, Tim Holtz brushed corduroy distressed ink, Queen & Co yellow bubbles, and.......I think that's it.  Whew!
