Donut Lovers Card

Happy National Donut Day! Yes, I'll use any excuse to celebrate donuts, including whipping up this happy card for the occasion. I'm creating with the Scrapbook.com Pumpkin Spice stamp set that includes a donut image. This is a Fall themed set that has other sweet images.  I love stamp sets that transition from one season to another! Scroll down for  creative details!

I used the mask technique on my center donut, stamping once, then placing a section of mint tape over my stamped image and stamped again. I then peeled of my stamped tape and fussy cut around the donut.

Next, I placed my stamped tape back over my center donut, and stamped more donuts on either side. This creates a fun effect and appears that the two side donuts are offset behind the center donut.

I also used my mint tape to mask my sentiment for stamping in color and in black. Covering each section of the stamp with tape allows you to ink up one section at a time, just remember to pull off the tape before you stamp onto your cardstock or you'll have a mess.

I used a stamp positioner for all my stamping today. It's super helpful for the mask technique.

I colored up my donuts with artist Copic markers. I find the best prices on these at Scrapbookpal.com. They are currently running their semi-annual Copic sale so, if you're looking to add to your collection, use coupon code COPIC2024 at checkout for an additional 10% discount through 6/18/24.

I also added Scrapbookcom Pops of Color in Chocolate Kiss and Summer Peach to my white panel. Sometimes dimensional liquid embellishments can have a tiny swirl when applying to cardstock and here's your bonus tip of the day:

While the liquid gloss is still wet, tap both sides (left and right) of your dotted cardstock onto a hard surface, such as a table. Don't be gentle, tap it good. This will flatten out your liquid embellishment significantly and give more of an "enamel dot" appearance.  This really works well with larger Pops of Color droplets.

Lastly, I used my Scrapbookcom Rectangle Nesting dies to create a border frame, paired with a pretty gingham paper from my Joyful paper pad. The darker orange paper also came from that paper pad, as well.

I have my clickable supply list below, for this A2 sized card below, if you'd like to browse or shop at Scrapbookcom for any of these products. Have a great day!

Terri

Warm Wishes And Cocoa

Today's project is a sweet scene, featuring stamps from Erin Lee Creative.  This set is available at
Simon Says Stamp, and has the cutest images for sending warm wishes to your favorite little girl.  Isn't she precious?

I used a variety of coloring tools on these images.  To color the little girl and her pj's and the donut, I used Zig real clean color brushes; Flesh, Brown, Oatmeal, Sugared Almond Pink, Yellow and another brown color that I can't quite make out as it's worn off, but it's close to a mustard color.  I also used Copic BG10 on the mug and accented the mug, headband and hair with a white gel pen.  I also used a copper colored glitter pen from Kaisercraft as "sprinkles" on my donut.

I hand drew some tiny strands of lights and colored these with Copic marker R20 and a bright yellow gel pen from Kaisercraft.  My sentiment was inked using my Misti stamp positioner and Clearsnap Wicked Black ink.

For my pillow, I simply trimmed some Neenah cardstock and used my Ranger Ink blender tool to ink on some distress oxide ink in Worn Lipstick.  I also applied faux stitching using my white gel pen.  My girl, pillow and donut are all popped up with foam circles and all my adhesives are from

Look closely and you'll see that my donut is sitting on a paper "napkin".  The blanket or rug in the background is from the new Echo Park Paper "I Heart Crafting" Kit and was embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.
