Coffee / Tea Lover New Release at TPD Stamps

It's Day 2 of the June Release at Two Paper Divas Stamps and I'm featuring two of the newest stamp sets in this release, "Tea Cups 2" and "Keep Calm and Drink".  And guess what?  They're both on sale.  Guess what else?  They fit perfectly with the new sketch challenge coming up on June 13th, which is coffee/tea themed.  Bonus!

If you don't know this about me, you should.  I love my coffee.  I mean, really, really, love my coffee.  I also like a good cup of tea now and then.   For me though, coffee is a must - several times a day.   

At least.  So, I was thrilled that TPD came out with new stamps that filled my thirst.  I knew I wanted to pair these two stamp sets together but exactly how, I wasn't sure.  I was thumbing through some other goodies that were sent to me recently by Elle's Studio and..... BINGO!  Their May monthly kit included this fun placard sentiment.  What makes me happy?  Coffee makes me happy.  I should make a list.  I grabbed the Elle's index card, also in my stockpile and proceeded to make a list. 

I stamped the coffee and tea words from the "Be Calm and Drink" sentiment kit in white pigment ink.  Next, I stamped those adorable tea cups onto some patterned scrap paper, colored them with my Zig Clean Color brushes, cut them out with my Pen knife and popped them out with foam squares.

Some fun embellishments finish off this card; mini sequins, DoubleClick Skittles bubble embellishments, raffia and a Bo Bunny button.

New Release at Two Paper Divas featuring "Howdy"

 The new stamp release for April is in full swing this week, over at Two Paper Divas.  Grab your partner and dosey doe!  I'm featuring the new "Howdy" stamp again with two images from this 6 piece set.  How fun are the frayed edges of the rope, twisted to spell Howdy?  Love it! 

I've also watercolored the background and the hat, using a no-line watercolor technique. 

I've chosen some more feminine papers, to appeal to your favorite Cowgirl, but you can switch it up for your favorite Cowboy, if you like.  Lastly, I've embellished with yummy May Arts Ribbon and some bling.

New Challenge at DoubleClick Skittles

I was looking forward to this challenge because, let's face it... who doesn't love a good joke, right?  I've got a ton of stamps and didn't have any trouble settling on this one from Unity Stamps.

Cute, huh?  Plus, this chic loves her some coffee so pairing the two was a no-brainer.  I'm using my Pink Sherbet Skittles today.  They're one of my favorites.  It's pale in color and is the perfect little accent on my Spring projects.  Sometimes, I'll add a touch of sparkly glitter glue underneath, to enhance the color even more and give it that wowza factor.

Here's a close-up. 

 

 And here's the Pink Sherbet Skittles.  Yummy, aren't they?  You can adhere them with glue dots, glitter glue, clear glue, even hot glue (just be careful!)  If I'm sending a card in the mail, I will usually use my Tombow mono aqua glue or a drop of hot glue, just to make sure it doesn't come off the card due to mail processing.

Challenge: St. Patricks Day/Use something green

For this card, I started by hand drawing and cutting out a shamrock, then tracing it onto patterned paper.   My Skittles today are Lettuce (on the button) and Grinch Green from the Holiday Traditions 2015 collection. 

You know, those Holiday Traditions Skittles translate well to other season.  For instance, I'll be using the Grinch Green and Gift Gold for spring projects, and the Rudolph Red for my nautical and patriotic projects.  That's one of my favorite things, getting the collection mixes that include multiple colors and colors that translate well for other seasons.  I always feel like I'm getting a little more bang for my buck with collections.  Know what I mean?

For my project today, I've colored up a CAS card, using stamps from the Spellbinders Celebration set, "Your Day".   I don't think I've ever inked up this little guy, so it was the perfect time to do so, for a fun boy birthday card.

I added some washi tape and placed my Skittles on top as a fun, blingy accent.  My Skittle colors are Stream and on of my favorites because it's such a deep blue.

I had a birthday last month and had colored up this Adornit image, just for fun.  Today, I finally put it together on this fun, layered birthday card.  I grabbed some scraps, which is always good to utilize, and chose lots of geometric patterns, even using some yellow polka dot washi tape and adding some May Arts Ribbons.

 Here's the image I colored on my birthday.  Notice the yummy cupcake in the background?  My hubby was sweet to pick up cupcakes to celebrate.

I've used Sunshine Yellow and Watermelon Skittles on my card.  The perfect colors, don't you think?  All my coloring was done with Tombow Dual brush markers.

Anything Goes Challenge with DoubleClick Skittles

Challenge #31- Anything Goes (Week 2)

My project today features the Watermelon Skittles paired with this Adornit Art Play image that I traced and colored onto vellum.  The image almost appears to float on the page, don't you think?  That's because the foam squares holding up my vellum are hidden by my Skittles.  Hey, they're decorative and functional!

For my background, I lined my card with washi tape,  Next, I taped a piece of die cut vellum to my Adornit image and began tracing the entire design onto my vellum.

To finish, I colored the image with my Tombow Dual Brush pens and added touches of glitter glue and topped off my project with some pretty May Arts Ribbon.
