I was looking forward to this challenge because, let's face it... who doesn't love a good joke, right?  I've got a ton of stamps and didn't have any trouble settling on this one from Unity Stamps.

Cute, huh?  Plus, this chic loves her some coffee so pairing the two was a no-brainer.  I'm using my Pink Sherbet Skittles today.  They're one of my favorites.  It's pale in color and is the perfect little accent on my Spring projects.  Sometimes, I'll add a touch of sparkly glitter glue underneath, to enhance the color even more and give it that wowza factor.

 And here's the Pink Sherbet Skittles.  Yummy, aren't they?  You can adhere them with glue dots, glitter glue, clear glue, even hot glue (just be careful!)  If I'm sending a card in the mail, I will usually use my Tombow mono aqua glue or a drop of hot glue, just to make sure it doesn't come off the card due to mail processing.

New DoubleClick Skittles Challenge - Gratitude Mason Jar Card

Challenge #35 - Thanksgiving or Thank You

Gratitude Jars are super popular at Thanksgiving.  Everyone writes something that they're thankful for, puts it in the jar, then passes it around the table and draws out one to read.  I'm sure there are many variations on the Gratitude Jar, including this one that I'm presenting today.

A Gratitude Jar card.  I used a Sizzix Mason Jar embossing folder to create this twist.

The papers are from the Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice collection and I'm featuring the Pumpkin Skittles from the Witches Brew collection (there's only a few left if you want a set!) and the Sunshine Yellow Skittles.

I used a circle punch and placed several Skittles inside the jar, along with some fun sentiments.

I also added some more Skittles to the heart tag that's attached to twine, wrapped around the paper jar, and on the popped out die cut at the bottom. 

 

I had soooo much fun putting this together!  I think I'll surprise my mom and put this in the mail to her.  She'll love it. 

I hope you'll grab some of these fun bubble embellishments today.  Even though Halloween is over, I'm still using my Witches Brew Skittles!  These colors translate perfectly to other fall projects, as you can see by the Pumpkin Skittles that I used above.  I plan on using some of the fun purple (Witch) colors at Easter time as well.  It's such a deep purple and I love it for night sky colors too.

Quick 5 Minute Card With DCWV Prism Play

What do you do when you're on your way out the door and remember the card you were going to make for your co-worker, but didn't?  Well, number one, you call the office because you're going to be late and number two, you rush back to your crafty domain and bust out the goods.

In this case, I reached for my handy dandy DCWV 12x12 Prism Play cardstock.  To make quick work, my brain went into overdrive, and I grabbed my We R Memory Keepers trimmer/scorer and zipped down a 5.75" piece of the cloud card stock and quickly scored it.  Next, I grabbed a piece of the pink geometric cardstock and trimmed a 4"x4" square, then trimmed the fun quote and side border trims.

I made quick work of a 4" trimmed piece of May Arts satin ribbon and used my bow maker, then trimmed a small piece of the mini adhesive rosettes. 

A little washi tape, a doily, my Tombow adhesives and some fun skittles from Doubleclick Connection and whew.....we are done!

 

I don't think I worked so fast in all my life, haha.   This is one of my favorite collections from DCWV.  The colors are poppin', the designs are trendy, and I love the fun, encouraging quotes.

Be Brave and Just Keep Dancing

 Another weekend, come and gone.  I struggle with Mondays, although I am happy to have my health and the ability to get up out of bed every morning.  I made this card for a friend who is facing the unknown with some medical issues.  We're all praying for good news, but in the meantime, I hope she likes this card.  It's a reminder that no matter the struggle, you can go in two directions: let the struggle win.... or win the struggle.  So be brave and just keep dancing!

 I've colored some May Arts Ribbon Flowers.  All the ribbons on this project are from MAR.  You can press your flower directly onto an ink pad, or use a blending tool.  For the blue flower, I used my blending tool and Powder Puff chalk ink, also on the doily, as well.  For the pink, I pressed directly onto the pad.  Both options are presented so you can see the difference. 

 

I thought I'd try to make a rolled flower, using my satin ribbon and a die with my Cuttlebug.

It's all about the experiment, right?  I cut 3.5" ribbon strips and ran them through my Xyron 9" Creative Station.  I then overlapped 3 strips each, then placed the sticky side of both 3.5" strips together to form a sealed square. 

It was a little too thick and after multiple passes through my Cuttlebug, I had to finish off by fussy cutting the scalloped outline, which was actually very easy, since there was a very good impression.  I think it turned out great!

I watercolored this lovely sentiment from the ADORNit Art Play Paintables and added some Ranger Stickles Glitter Glue.  Those cute little bubbles are Skittles in the color "Stream", from DoubleClick Connections.
